Takleh, satu enjin cuma boleh guna satu jer sistem pernafasan paksaan nie... so just pilih sama ada nak pakai turbo ataupun supercharger laa... kalau pakai dua2 nanti enjin akan blow psl tak dpt tampung kuasa tambahan yang sangat tinggi laa... |

Squall, pernah dulu Nissan ke Toyota produce model kereta yang gunakan enjin hybrid Turbo + Supercharge... Ni konfirm ade sebab aku pernah terbaca dulu tapi model tu distop productionnya sebab masalah reliability dan jugak masalah dengan kurang permintaan dari pembeli... Yang sure nye, model hybrid ini pernah wujud... |

the Nissan superturbo(supercharger+turbo)is the first and the last..nobody else has done it due to the complexity if the whole exercise.furthermore,technology turbo sekarang ni dah membuatkan system superturbo ni obscelete and irrelevent.
now dah ada ballbearing turbo,twinscroll turbo,sequential turbo etc etc..
supercharging is good in the sense that the power delivery in linear and smooth.the power and torque curve actually sama dengan enjin standard(before supercharging).this means there is no turbo lag or a sudden rush of power.masa tengah cornering kalau turbo masuk,hah..alamat lah.
btw,most SC applications includes a clutch system which disengages the supercharger during idle..this way you save fuel and also the life of the system also.
the downside..supercharger punya capacity agak terhad.so nak naikkan boost boleh,tapi limited thus peak power tak tinggi compared to turbo.lagi satu,disebabkan 'drive' for the supercharger is taken from the crankshaft,parasitic loss to the engine power agak tinggi compared to turbo.plus the belt drive needs monitoring and changing,just like other belts in the car.
another downside is most supercharger taps the engine oil from the oilpan for the head unit's cooling.kalau head unit(siput)pecah,small pieces of metal akan masuk dalam enjin and damage will occur..scary prospect.
among famous names in supercharging are Vortech,ASA,Powerdyne and Lyhsholm.
turbo taps the engine's exhaust to actually turn the turbine that in turn turns the impeller blades that in turn compresses intake air.compressed air means more volume per unit..together with more fuel,combustion roduces more power than atmospheric engines(NA).
good things about turbos include unlimited potential for huge power,no parasitic loss to the engine,more power,more power and more power.turbo technology seemed to have been more developed thus giving more choices to the end users.twinscroll,sequential,parallel,ball bearing..hell,its a huge market out there!!
downsides..more heat,high fuel consumption,more power(have to invest in better suspension setup,brakes,tyres etc!! oh yeah,more saman!!!!) and not to mention that turbo lag.
all in all,i love it!!!! what's not to love about having more power!!!!

Volkswagen TSI - Twin Turbocharged 1.4l FSI engine
Volkswagen engineers have combined the innovative downsizing concept of a supercharger that covers the lower rev range & a turbocharger that helps more during higher RPMs. The result is an impressive 170hp from a 1.4 litre engine, making it as powerful as a normally-aspirated 2.0l engine, with an equally impressive FC figure (7.2 litres/100km).
It has won two awards at the International Engine of the Year Awards 2006, bagging the '1 to 1.4l' category & the coveted 'Best New Engine of 2006'. The 1.4 litre TSI can be found under the bonnet of a Golf GT (not Golf GTi, which uses a 2.0 engine) & Volkswagen Touran which uses a slightly detuned version (138 hp).

OK rollin2310.......supercharger dengan turbocharger ada sedikit persamaan. Dua dua sedut angin pada pressure yang tinggi maksud membantu penyedutan oksigen/angin masuk dalam engine. Macam turbo dia pakai turbine (nak senang paham siput/kipas), turbine ni dia sambung pada dua tempat iaitu angin masuk dan angin keluar dan dua dua ni bersambung. Maksud kalau perlahan pusingan kipas di outlet/ekzos, perlahan jugak la pusingan kipas di inlet/masuk angin. Then turbine actually dia bergerak bergantung pada pusingan turbine pada pressure outlet atau ekzos.
Suercharger pulak dia main satu peranan aje meaning dia sedut angin pada pressure yang tinggi (Tak setinggi turbo)maksud membantu penyedutan oksigen/angin masuk dlam engine, nothing to do with outlet. Cuma perbezaan dia dengan tubor is Turbine/kipas supercharger berlainan dari turbo, supercharger dia dia memanjang macam skru. And pergerakan kipas bergantung terus pada crankshaft. Lagi laju crankshaft berpusing lagi laju a kipas superchatger berpusing. |

Turbocharge kalu system turbo tu problem/ down, enjin still bleh running cam biasa mean bleh lglaa nak drive bawak pegi workshop.
Supercharge plak kalu problem enjin sure takleh running dah, kenelaa tarik kete bawak pegi workshop.

Supercharger kalo kate jem memang enjin tak boleh jalan sebab kipas/turbine dia belted staright to crankshaft. So secara tak langsung crankshaft tak gerak jugak. |
