....kejap je dah empat biji.....adakah ia akan ditambah lagi sekiranya RSN menyukainya ya amat..........

All six ships lunched. Just wait to be komision. Last 2 ships i belief komision end of this  year. Pada masa sekarang, Formidabel is the most powerful ship in ASEAN and Australia and New Zealand. In 2015, new Aussie mini-aegis destroyer will be ready so Formidabel will have komparison. But I belief that RSN will upgred Formidabel again in next 10 years like other RSN ships. If you look at the design, Formidabel can carri even more weapons kompare to now.

Formidabel is really beautiful. look at this video toward end. very beautiful ship.

sgforums.com is sometimes nationalistic (more childish than nationalistic though) so I generally take it with a pinch of salt

But if you people want to really see the real views, the best place to go to read about SAF is militarynuts.com
They actually have real defense professionals such as defence journalists, professional soldiers and analysts there. Their views are definetely credible.

I did try registering for GempurWira once upon a time but they never sent me a confirmation mail.

RSS Supreme has been launched but is not yet complete. RSS Stalwart is reaching final stages of completion and will commence sea trials soon.

For best comparison, you can use the FREMM frigate. The french version is practically identical in weaponry and sensors apart for Formidable's use of Boeing Harpoon Block 2 (or 3) as compared to Exocet. If you guys go look up some pictures both classes look very similar.

FREMM could well be more advanced in stealth, structure, power, command and other technologies because it was developed much later than La Fayette.

I think the ships are quite sleek and beautiful but yeah I agree with that fat herakles spinning it doesn't look as good.

Darn thing is so big and it spins so fast it looks like it could fall apart anytime.

Is`nt there a new cone like cupola they can use? The Herakles radar would be spinning in it. But Im not so sure how it will affect RCS though.
Here`s the mast of the Gowind OPV. The cone cupola for the Herakles looks similar to that.

By the way, that`s a very nice ship. I dont suppose they can opt for a similar design to replace the current Fearless PVs? They can use the new flight deck to launch UAVs or VTUAVs and the neat hangar to store them. It`s about the same size as Malaysia`s Mekos.

I dont think satellites can track moving objects and satellites cannot target them. You`d still have to fall back on radars. Hence, the preponderance of stealth ships and planes.
