MEM Proton Satria Neo Super 2000





This is the MEM Proton Satria Neo Super 2000 Rally Car. The Super 2000 Rally was proposed by the FIA because of the rising costs of running World Rally Cars and competing in the World Rally Championship.


The following are the specs for a Super 2000 Rally Car:

* 3, 4 or 5-door models with length over 3900mm

* Generic 4X4 transmission without active differential from Sadev or Xtrac

* 2.0 liter normally aspirated engine from either a base engine used in any model from the manufacturer, or a engine licensed from another manufacturer with 2,500 units minimum production per year

* Engine must comply to BTCC/ETC specs with 8,500rpm rev limit

* Minimum weight - 1100kg tarmac, 1150kg gravel

* Maximum bodywork and wheel arch extension width 1800mm



The MEM Satria Neo S2000 complies to these specifications, measuring 3905mm long, 1800mm wide with a 2440mm wheelbase and a weight of 1150kg. Its chassis is based on the road-going Neo and has been strengthened to comply with FIA regulations and the components of a S2000 rally car. It is fitted with a rollcage built from 35 meters of Chrome-Moly Steel Tubing.

Its 4-cylinder 1998cc DOHC normally aspirated engine is based on the 1.8 liter Renault engine in the Waja. It produces 280hp at 7,800rpm and a massive 271Nm of torque at 7,000rpm, and is installed transversely at the front of the car. This engine is mated to an Xtrac 6-speed sequential transmission with Alcon clutch and 3 player LSD.

Brakes are also from Alcon, with 300mm discs with 4 piston calipers at the front and 300mm discs at the rear on gravel. For asphalt, the front brake discs are uprated to 350mm. Wheels are 18 inch alloys for tarmac and 15 inch alloys for gravel. The car抯 electronics system runs on the GEMS Multiplex System with Power Management, Data Logging and a Glass Dash Display

280hp? wallauweh... terkojut engineer honda tgk ni.. FD2R pon 220hp ajerrr.. mugen RR pon 23+hp ajer.. 280hp = stended evo/scooby tu..

biler lagi nak jual version cenggini kat msia nih.. hehhee..

Aku tak sangkal langsung, wear and tear parts banyak giler yg menyebabkan Alfa akan ada kat worksyop..

Yes, there is a reliability issue..but performance wise?...go figure bro..

But yet again, Alfa is all about passion..

And, Alfa is meant for an enthusiast..

Why dont you do a search on Alfa Romeo in Youtube (search: Top Gear Alfa Romeo)..

Owning an Alfa, there's a price to pay..You pay for the pleasure of the engine note, cozy and classy finishes of the interior, its driving position and feel...you'll look forward for a drive..

Owning a Ploton, hefty price to pay and.. hey presto, you got a junk in 2 years time...

As far as i'm concerned, any motorhead on earth will definetly know what Alfa Romeo is all about..i dont blame u bro..but....

aku harap nawaitu proton nak masuk WRC tu biar betul. Tak nak lah macam dlm sokan2 lain, yg mana dari zaman sebelum merdeka sampai sekarang, penyertaan sekadar untuk menimba pengalaman. Bayangkan kalu interview mana2 ahli sukan atau pertubuhan sukan kat malaysia tentang tujuan penyertaan mereka dalam mana games peringkat Asia apatah lagi international, jawapan standard yg diberi...`untuk mendapat/memberi pendedahan/pengalaman kepada athelete' ...peh berabab beb nak dapat pendedahan

Tapi kalu WRC ni, tujuan penyertaan proton sepatutnya bukan untuk mendapat pendedahan, bukan untuk dapat pengalaman, dan juga bukan untuk menang. WRC ni seharusnya disertai oleh Proton sejak dulu2 lagi sebagai platform bagi proton membangunkan dan menguji kehebatan dan kelasakan teknologi pemotorannya. Aku berpendapatan walaupun agak terlambat tapi ini merupakan langkah yang tepat walaupun dari segi timing ia agak tak sesuai terutamanya dari segi situasi ekonomi dunia semasa.


Teringat teman, dolo ada sebuah Universiti di Mesia (uni ni tak ada pong fakulti kejuruteraan) tapi ada hantar pasukan dlm perlumbaan kereta or basikal (lupa lak teman) solar, kat Australia kalu tak silap teman...apa tujuan penyertaan dia teman pun tak boleh memikiokannya

as a promotion pun ok juga tan...but hopely this is not the only reason...biarlah 3 in 1 or at least 2 in 1, where testing a new technology is one of them

Here's a hint why i love Proton so much..

First and foremost, it is a very reliable car. Nobody should deny this facts.

Apart from that, the government imposed a heavy heavy tax for imported cars. A hefty amount that we, Malaysians have to pay. So that it will protect Proton. So that Malaysians will love Proton.

Lets us see, if there is no Proton, can we young and hip people can own a SUPER car with our salary say an average RM5000 per peson?
