1st...fn6 utk assymetric warfare. benda murah boleh tembak benda mahal, kalu tak kena pon, at least boleh kasi kecut perut jugak nak mengelat. meet the purpose utk menghuru-harakan serangan musuh sebelum sam yg lebih canggih take over.
2nd.... feter jet murah tak leh disamakan penggunaannya ngan sam murah, pasai sam tak bawak nyawa ashkar tempatan, sedangkan feter membawa at least nyawa seorang ashkar tempatan yg mengambil masa utk dilatih membawa feter. kalu feter jet murah ke hulu ke hilir tapi end up sonang dibedil feter musuh, tak der maknanya. baik pakai feter mahal sikit tapi boleh diharapkan utk membedil kembali feter musuh. |

Fighter china ni overall ok, juz Malaysia boleh customize ikut kehendak, dan bukan beli bulat2 cuba tgk Pakistan??? diaorg wat JV, ni point yg saya nak highlight kan, at least JV ngn china ni boleh mengembangkan industri aeronautic kita... cuba kita lihat PTDI (formerly known IPTN) dr indon, dia orag mula2 dpat lisenesi wat Pesawat pengangkut CN dari CASA (Spain) lama2 wat JV ngn CASA.
P/S: sampai bila Malaysia nak jadi pengguna sahaja??? assult rifle pun x mampu buat sendiri dikala negara jiran sudah berupaya membekal kan assult rifle buatan tempatan kpd tentera mereka... |

The first 42 production aircraft currently being delivered to the Pakistan Air Force are equipped with the NRIET KLJ-7 radar, a smaller variant of the KLJ-10 radar fitted to the Chengdu J-10, developed by China's Nanjing Research Institute of Electronic Technology (NRIET). Its multiple modes allow surveillance and simultaneous engagement of multiple air, ground and sea targets, of which a total of 40 can be managed. Using the track-while-scan (TWS) mode, the radar can track up to 10 targets at beyond visual range (BVR) and engage 2 of them simultaneously with radar homing air-to-air missiles.[51] The operation range for targets with a radar cross-section (RCS) of 5 m2 is stated to be ≥105 km in look-up mode and ≥85 km in look-down mode.
It is known that a helmet-mounted sights/display (HMS/D) system will be installed on the JF-17, although the exact type is yet to be confirmed. This system assists in targeting enemy aircraft by projecting targeting information onto the pilot's visor and tracking the movements of his head/eyes. Also to be integrated is a FLIR (Forward Looking Infra-Red) pod for low-level navigation in low visibility and IRST (Infra-Red Search and Track) system for passive monitoring and targeting of enemy aircraft.
A day/night laser designator targeting pod will be integrated with the aircraft's avionics and carried externally on one of the hardpoints for guiding laser-guided munitions. An extra hardpoint may be added under the starboard air intake, opposite the cannon, for mounting such pods. No specific targeting pod has been selected, but a Chinese system such as the FILAT (Forward-looking Infra-red Laser Attack Targeting) pod may be integrated if a suitable Western system is not available. To reduce costs associated with buying large numbers of targeting pods, during strike missions the aircraft's tactical data-link will be used to transmit targeting data to other aircraft not equipped with targeting pods.

Kalau nak peroleh aset yg berkos tinggi dan memp. force multiplier effect, biarlah dari pengeluar yg proven qualitynya, technical support dan ada track recordsnya.
Rekod penggunaan oleh negara pembeli mcm Pakistan, Thai dan Bangladesh buleh dibuat pbandingan samada sesuai atau tak utk kita..mmglah murah dan blh dibeli dalam huge numbers tapi kalau selalu rosak, downtime lama pun akan menjejaskan keupayaan cegah rintang TUDM. Cthnya F18 Hornet w/pun mahal tapi service availability lebih tinggi dari MiG29 suatu masa dulu...my 2 cents la |

mmg betul yg IPTN bertindak bijak untuk buat pesawat CN-235 secara berlesen drp CASA. tapi kalo IPTN boleh wat pesawat secara berlesen drp firma barat yg bagus buatan dan mutu rekaannya, kenapa perlu kita melangkah ke belakang dengan wat pesawat secara berlesen drp China yg mutunya sangat rendah?
dan bila masa pulak CASA ada wat JV dgn IPTN? lebih penting lagi, masih wujud ker IPTN?
P/S gak... : negara yg mampu menghasilkan senjata rekaan sendiri hanyalah Singapura. tu pon pasaran mereka tak meluas dan byk jatuh kepada non state actors... kita pon mampu hasilkan tapi secara berlesen (sama kesnya mcm IPTN  ). |

Bandung, W Java (ANTARA News) - State-owned Indonesian aircraft industry PTDI is to develop a CN-235 anti-submarine airplane which would be a new variant of its CN-235 turbo-prop aircraft, PTDI president director Budi Wuraskito said.
Wuraskito said here on Saturday Indonesia already had the needed technology and qualified human resources. "They have the experience to assemble and modify aircraft of that type," he said.
He said PTDI had enough human resources to produce anti-submarine aircraft.
About 40 PTDI engineers had been involved in the production of anti-submarine airplanes in Turkey, he said.
He said they returned to Indonesia four months ago after completing their assignment in Turkey. "We already have the technology for the production of such aircraft," he said.
PTDI was now able to design and produce the CN-235 MPA, a maritime patrol aircraft which had become one of PTDI`s most salable products.
He said PTDI would soon develop the CN-235 anti-submarine plane. A number of countries had already expressed interest in purchasing PTID`s anti-submarine products. One of them was Malaysia.
The state-owned company was also producing Bolkow-105 or NBO-105 helicopters.
Bolkow-105 or NBO-105 helicopters built by PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) are considered very suitable for combat.
Not only is the sound of the aircraft relatively low, the choppers each with a capacity for five persons, are equipped with machine guns and missiles.(*)
