A photo claimed to be of the bottom side on a retail Samsung Galaxy S5 box has been tipped, and it shows some specs that are quite different from the conventional, albeit rumor-derived knowledge about the handset.

The styling and iconography on the rear side of the box look exactly like the wrapper that the Galaxy S4 and Note 3 arrive with. That also means the alleged specs could very well have been doctored over a box snap of those two, though it differs enough from them both - there's no S Pen icon here, and no RAM icon on the S4 box, for example.

In any case, you can see for yourself that the alleged S5 box lists it having a Quad HD (1440x2560 pixels) Super AMOLED display, which is in line with predictions, a 2.5 GHz processor, likely the fastest Snapdragon 800, and 3 GB of RAM, just like the leaked AnTuTu screenshot of one of the US models of the S5 predicted yesterday.

The similarities, however, stop here, as the phone is listed with 20 MP rear camera, and 3000 mAh battery, while conventional leaked wisdom so far pointed to a 16 MP unit on the back, and a 3200 mAh battery pack. Also, the "2" in the 20 MP camera icon is not bolded, whereas on the S4 and Note 3 boxes the "1" depicting a 13 MP camera is in bolded font, so take this with the obligatory grain of salt until more stable proof appears for such a high-res camera indeed.

Last month we got tipped that an S5 variant will feature a 20 MP camera and 2900 mAh battery, which is close enough to the specs listed on the box here. At the same time, Korean media reported back in December that Samsung is prepping a 20 MP camera sensor, developed from scratch for its flagships, but at the time it wasn't sure there will be enough yield for it to appear in millions of units sold, as will be the case with the S5, so everything is still up in the air regarding the camera.

tak sabo nak tunggu s5 keluar. nak tengok maciam mana best ke dak?
tengah menyabarkan diri tunggu s5 keluar ni.

sebelum ni, macam nak ambil iphone 5s, tapi disebabkan tak biasa langsung dengan iphone, jadi dah batalkan niat untuk tukar kepada iphone. maka, dalam senarai menunggu sekarang adalah Note3 atau S5.

dengar kata, S5 punya kamera 20mp. pergh besar juga!
