NING Baizura also acknowledged the fact that GV is a university for singers like him.
A 'diva' in the vocal arts arena, singer Ning Baizura still describes the Gegar Vaganza stage as like a university for every artist competing.
According to Ning or her full name is Ning Baizura Sheikh Hamzah, 50, GV is the best platform to gain knowledge despite being a senior singer.
"It's true what Jaclyn Victor said before that GV is a university for singers like us.
"We learn a lot every week and the judges also give constructive comments and very useful input for the participants' performances," he told HibGlam recently.
Never thinking negatively when given low scores or being in the bottom position, Ning is optimistic and accepts every comment from the judges with open arms.
In fact, he also saw all the comments given by the judges as knowledge that would be difficult to learn elsewhere.
"We can't just think negatively. What I do every week is listen to the judges' comments after the performance. Every week I get different comments based on that week's performance.
NING received mixed comments from judges and netizens after singing the viral song, Cinta Setandan Pisang, at the GV11 seventh week concert.
"This is my way of reevaluating my performance and seeing my own weaknesses. It's all a way to learn to fix my mistakes," he said.
The singer of the song Awan Yang Terpilu praised the credibility of the head of the GV jury, Datuk Ramli MS, who helped a lot in every performance.
"The person who has the most support for all the participants is Ramli MS. He is very positive and will comment on our weaknesses, that's good."
"I'm not saying that Syafinaz Selamat and Hetty Koes Endang were not good or less helpful throughout the training process, but they both gave a lot of constructive comments to the participants on the day of the incident, which was the weekly concert.
"Their comments and criticisms are often full of elements of surprise," he explained.
Sharing his performance last week where he performed the song Cinta Setan and Pisang, Ning said he was assisted by 10 individuals to understand and speak the Kelantan dialect.
"Alhamdulillah, I've finished learning the Kelantan dialect. 10 people taught me for five days."
"I am satisfied and really 'all out' because this song went viral.
"So you have to make sure to sing this song seriously, especially the pronunciation in the Kelantan dialect, there is an 'idgham' of its own. That's the most rempit I can give when finishing the performance," concluded Ning. |
