Salman walked ramp with Miss Universe 2006!

Earlier he invited Miss Universe 2006 Zuleyka Rivera to his home for an Eid party and now walked ramp with her in fashion designer Sanjana Jon抯 fashion show, which held recently in Mumbai to spread the AIDS awareness among the people.

Already there抯 rumour in the air that actor Salman Khan and Zuleyka Rivera has come sensibly closer to each other and which is a matter of concern for Salman抯 ladylove Katrina Kaif.

Katrina might have found some truth in it and so she had come along with Salman in the fashion show without leaving Salman alone with the Miss Universe.

PETALING JAYA: Status talak yang dilafazkan penyanyi dan komposer terkenal, Ajai, terhadap isterinya, Nurul (gambar), kini menjadi tanda tanya apabila Mahkamah Rendah Syariah di sini kelmarin mendapati artis terbabit ada melafazkan cerai sebanyak tiga kali sejak 2001.

'Dalam penyataan tuntutan plaintif (Nurul), ada tiga lafaz dibuat dan mahkamah perlu membicara satu persatu,' kata Hakim Syarie Ghazali Ahmad.

Beliau berkata demikian selepas Nurul melalui peguamnya, Cik Saadiah Din, memfailkan notis menarik balik dakwaan lafaz cerai yang difailkan pada 1 November lalu di mahkamah yang sama dan membuat permohonan bercerai.

'Saya difahamkan, kedua-dua pihak bersetuju bercerai dalam mahkamah mengikut Seksyen 47 Enakmen Keluarga Islam dan Tatacara Mal Selangor.

'Kedua-dua pihak memaklumkan apa yang dinyatakan dalam tuntutan itu tak pernah berlaku,' katanya.

Bagaimanapun, mahkamah menolak permohonan plaintif untuk menarik balik permohonan pengesahan cerai Nurul dengan alasan lafaz cerai tidak boleh diselesaikan kedua-dua pihak.

'Jika benar kedua-dua pihak menafikan perkara itu (lafaz cerai), mahkamah perlu menjalankan perbicaraan prosedur penafian. Menjadi tanggungjawab mahkamah menyiasat sama ada lafaz cerai ini benar-benar berlaku dan membuat keputusan,' tambahnya.

Mahkamah kemudian menetapkan 13 Disember depan sebagai tarikh perbicaraan. - Harian Metro.

The latest buzz doing the rounds is that Salman Khan has gifted his red Hayabusa to Hollywood actor Angelina Jolie, who is currently shooting for 慉 Mighty Heart' in Pune. Allegedly, Salman's Hayabusa was spotted outside the shooting spot in Pune. A unit member informed, 揝alman Khan ne madam ke liye bheja hai!

Umrao Jaan seems like a way station for Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai on her path to international success. So says the New York Times, hoping she does not suffer for her art as much as her character does.

"Oh, the price of being beautiful. "Umrao Jaan" - a retelling of a historical Indian tale covered in a 1981 Bollywood classic - might also be a commentary on its star," says the influential American daily in a rare review of a Bollywood film.

"Rai, often hailed as the queen of Bollywood, has for many a global allure, calling to mind that of Brigitte Bardot or Sophia Loren. But you hope Rai does not suffer for her art as much as her character does," adds reviewer Andy Webster.

Recounting the many misfortunes of Umrao, he says, "The whims of men can be terrible to live by, but too many scenes exploit Rai's tearful, screen-engulfing eyes.

"Bathos and weak dubbing don't help. But the actress's presence is undeniable. Rai has Western films coming; "Umrao Jaan" seems like a way station on her path to international success."

All this critical acclaim comes as breather for Ash who has been accused of choosing wrong films most of the time. But unlike Umrao Jaan, Dhoom 2 has been a big bash for Aishwarya Rai.

The actress not only got in shape to wear the trendy bikins but also got to spend some quality time with Abhishek Bachchan.

Recounts Uday Chopra, who plays Ali in the film, "Dhoom 2 had been a lot of hard work. While shooting at Carnival in Rio we were all exhausted after shooting continuously for a month. One day at 2 AM, we were just sitting around glumly, waiting for the lights to be set up for the next shot when I got this idea.

I plugged in my Ipod to the speakers and just blasted the song 'Kajra re'. What followed was unbelievable. Each and every person got up almost automatically and began dancing.

In fact, Abhishek and Ash actually perform the entire track. They both went on to the stage and we had the entire Rio crowd dancing and clapping for us for putting up this impromptu show."

The film also stars Hrithik Roshan and Bipasha Basu in the lead roles.

Hrithik is ill, postpones shoot!

Under normal circumstances anyone with that high a fever wouldn't have allowed himself to move from bed. But who said actors are subject to normalcy?

Hence earlier this week when Sammir Dattani was shooting for Vikram Bhatt's Life Mein Kabhi Kabhi he had to take a sudden holiday due to am intense viral fever. But the young actor had to report to shooting without recovering from the vehement attack.

"There's no choice," says the weak actor. Barely able to talk or walk he's all set to resume shooting.

"Vikram has the combined dates of the entire cast including Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani, Nauheed Cyrusi and others. There's no way I can wriggle out of it without affecting the schedule badly. But it's worth it. Because I've got the role of a lifetime in Vikram's film."

In order to be able to work Sammir's doctor have pumped him up with intravenous injections. "I never knew acting could be so tough," Sammir smiles weakly.

In the meanwhile Hrithik Roshan too was felled with a viral fever. The shooting for Jodha-Akbar was supposed to commence in Jaipur on November 7. It was postponed due to Hrithik's illness.  

Big B on Abhishek-Ash rumors

Amidst reports linking Abhishek Bachchan with his Umrao Jaan co-star Aishwarya Rai, his father Amitabh Bachchan today said he wanted his son to settle with a "good girl" of his choice.

Asked about the prospect of Abhishek marrying Rai, the superstar quipped "I have also heard about it. You should ask the people who spread the rumour."

He said all that it mattered to him was that "it should be a good girl and it should be of his (Abhishek's) choice."

On his experience of working with his son in films like Sarkar, Bunty and Bubli and Kabhi Alvida Na Kahena, Bachchan said it was quite good. "He is quite competent."

"At home we are father and son but when we are before the camera, we are two actors. On the sets I have never seen him as my son but as a friend," he told.

Umrao Jaan starring Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai was released last week, while Dhoom II is awaiting release.
