Salam.
Mezquita of Cordoba is also known as The Cathedral of Cordoba...
Sejarahnya it was originally the city's main church, i.e. San Vicente Basilica . Then came the Muslim ruler, destroyed the church and constructed the Mosque, that is considered as the most important sanctuary of Western Islam. Then when the Christian ruler reconquered Cordoba and came into power again, they enhanced the place again and started the recuperation of Christian faith activities.... So dlm Mezquita @ Cathedral ni - ada kedua2nya - tempat sembahyang org2 Islam dan tempat sembahyang org2 Kristian... Sadaqallahalazim....
Bhgian arkitektur Islam...
Fyi, auntie diberitau oleh tour guide bhw mezquita ni tak menghadap kiblat. Sbbnya pemerintah Islam drp Damascus tu terlalu rindukan tanah airnya, jadi dia nak masjid tu menghadap arah yg sama mcm di Damascus... So kalau nak sembahyang, sejadah kena menyengek ikut arah kiblat... |
