Saif has officially split with Italian girlfriend Rosa, who was the main cause for his walking out on wife Amrita in the first place. Saif now claims to be in serene mode as the calm after the storm, that is, his intense affair with Rosa. No Khans invited to Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding
The official news is that none of the three ruling Khans, namely Salman (no points for guessing why), Shah Rukh (but naturally) and Aamir (not really close), have been invited to Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan鈥檚 wedding on April 20. Even though they share close family ties with the other Khans, Saif, Fardeen and Zayed, too have not been extended the official nimantran patra. And with the wedding only a week away, it鈥檚 unlikely that even a phone invitation will be extended.

The rumour that Shah Rukh had bumped into Ash and Abhi at a post party for the Zee Cine Awards in Malaysia, where the couple extended him an invitation has been denied by Shah Rukh.. 鈥淚 did not meet them post the show, neither have they invited me to their wedding. Is Salman simply using Katrina Kaif?

It's nothing new. When Katrina Kaif was just his drop-dead beautiful squeeze, they said Salman Khan was squeezing her into ramp shows and also helped to get her some roles in good Hindi movies. That time, he perhaps had another agenda too, just to spite Aishwarya Rai. So, her stunning looks did matter. And her English accent (actually, she couldn't speak Hindi at all) did NOT matter! So, Kats was also squeezed in between two brothers (Salman and Sohail) in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. It was Just chill, chill, chill! All of a sudden, however, Kats struck up a sizzling chemistry with Akshay Kumar in Humko Deewana Kar Gaye. Though the film flopped, the pair was identified as hot. And now their second starrer, Namastey London, has gone on to become a runaway hit, and she has dubbed her own voice as well! So much so that the media has already started planting stories that Salman is getting upset with Akshay -- and Akshay has gone to say that Sallu respects him and their onscreen chemistry, and that is why the Akshay-Katrina pair has another three films coming! So, it is difficult to understand the whirling rumours again that Salman is using his not inconsiderable clout in the film industry to promote Katrina, much to the discomfiture of his friends and even Katrina herself. When work on the magnum opus, Bajirao Mastani, got stalled the industry assumed Aishwarya had declined the film because ex-lover Salman figured in the cast and she would have nothing to do with him in the same film. It later turned out Aishwarya wasn't the problem. It was Salman! He had wanted Sanjay Leela Bhansali to replace Aishwarya with Kareena! Salman's priorities have since changed and his focus is now on sweetheart Katrina. Determined to have her counted amidst the top three leading ladies of Bollywood he is now asking Bhansali to give Aishwarya's role to Katrina! Bhansali has chosen to bat defensively for the moment and has deferred shooting the venture indefinitely. The Bollywood business is abuzz now with pointers to Salman's relentless recommendations for Katrina for all films -- including the earlier hit, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, directed by David Dhawan. One of the clauses that Salman puts up while signing a film is that Katrina has also to be signed, and many directors are willing to play along. Incredibly enough, he is known to have even asked other actresses to opt out of a film so that Katrina could replace them! He should not forget the example of his debutante heroine in Maine Pyar Kiya (interesting coincidence in the title!), Bhagyashree, who soon after the super-duper hit got married to Himalay, and made it a condition that she would only act with him as costar. We know what happened to both of them eventually. In Rajkumar Santoshi's London Dreams, where Salman was paired with Priyanka Chopra, his requesting Priyanka to opt out -- by giving false reasons of unavailability of dates -- to make room for his beloved Kat is out in the open now. Katrina, on her part rubbishes rumours that Salman is helping her career in any way. After the recent success of Namastey London, she is happy and busy shooting for many films, she says. When Subhash Ghai cast her with Salman in his just announced film, Main Yuvraj, she was categorical that her success was derived from her own hard work. "I am delighted to be in a Subhash Ghai film," she told the media, "Ghaiji has created great heroines. But the news that Salman has got me roles is ridiculous," she added. "Ghaiji offered me Kisna earlier, but it didn't work out. He saw me in Namastey London and confirmed my role in Main Yuvraj. Do you think directors like Ghaiji would listen to Salman while casting for their films? I am where I am on merit. I work hard to fit into the roles I play and my hard work on acting and speech has got me my success. Also, Bollywood needs fresh faces and I happen to be that face."

Earlier last weekend it was falsely reported that Vivek had approached Vipul Shah for Upen Patel's role in Namestey London. Apparently there seems to be a lobby working against Vivek Oberoi since he has been maintaining a low profile. When Akshay Kumar got to know about it recently, he was hopping mad at the rumors being floated around. Apparently Akshay was not aware of the reports earlier since he was in grief over the demise of his secretary Baliji, who was like family to him. But when it was brought to his notice he told people off in no uncertain terms that he was disgusted with the whole issue of dragging Vivek into the Namastey London controversy. Says Akshay, "I m absolutely shocked that people can actually write or even go to such extent without verifying actual facts. Vivek is like a younger brother to me, he is close to my heart." He adds, "In fact I wanted Vivek to work in the film and suggested to Vipul, I can't believe why people are saying otherwise. I have great regard about Vivek and his potential. In fact sources close to Akshay confirm that Vipul Shah asked Vivek to meet him at his office to go through the script and Vivek went to meet Vipul Shah out of respect. But when Vivek heard the script, he felt that role would fit a newcomer & politely told Vipul that he would not be able to do the role. When Vivek explained to Vipul Shah about it, Vipul agreed to it. The role was eventually played by Upen Patel, Which proved to be a blessing in disguise for him since it was a great vehicle for him to act in a good set up and in spite of being a new comer, Upen was highly appreciated for his performance in the film. -

According to the buzz the duo married in a hush-hush ceremony on Tuesday and the crowds wanted a glimpse of the happy couple. The industry has been speculating a lot about the Salman-Katrina marriage ever since the Abhi-Ash wedding date had been announced.

Some even thought that Salman and Katrina would announce their wedding date a day before or the same day as the Abhi-Ash wedding (April 20) and upstage their event.

When contacted, Katrina Kaif burst into laughter.

If you are a Khan, you are persona non-grata. At least, as far as the Bachchans and the Rais are concerned. The Abhishek-Aishwarya high-profile marriage will take place on April 20 (and this time the date seems to be "lock kiya jaye") and none of the three Super Khans ruling Bollywood are not invited, thank you. With Salman getting the royal ignore being quite expected and understandable (nobody would want a mandap-breaking scene, you know), Shah Rukh too is not on the list of invitees. After Don and KBC, and his veiled attacks on the Bachchan, what did he expect from the Big B? So Aamir has also been left out in the thanda. But the strange news is that even though the shaadiwalas share close family ties with the other Khans (Saif, Fardeen and Zayed), they too have not been extended the official nimantran patra. As a face-saver, Salman has it known that he will be shortly leaving for the USA for 'personal work'. Meanwhile, Saif can also cover up by using his Dubai shoot for Abbas-Mustan's upcoming film, Race, as an alibi. It is hoped that at least Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar will be done the honours, they are the only two to stand up against all the Khans in the box-office stakes. -

He was a bit sceptical and thought I would forget the lines but asked me to go ahead. I gulped down a bottle of wine in half an hour and was soon quite high.

Why Abhi-Ash cancelled the Wizcraft meet

At 12 noon today, the Bachchans (Senior and Junior) along with Aishwarya Rai were scheduled to address a Wizcraft media meet at the Marriott. The agenda was to announce the world tour of the Bachchans for a series of stage shows. Last evening though it was announced that the meet had been cancelled and reportedly it was not exactly due to the busy schedules of the stars but because of Jaya Bachchan. Apparently, mama Bachchan threw a fit when she realised that Abhishek and Aishwarya would be seen together and photographed barely a week before their wedding. She felt nazar lag jayegee as traditonally the boy and girl are not spotted together in public just before the wedding celebrations!

The right dog cost Kim Sharma her role

A pup decided the fate of an actress to be cast in the role for the film Bheja Fry.The director preferred Bhairavi Goswami over Kim Sharma only because she had the right dog. The director was supposed to cast Kim Sharma in his film to play a character, Suman Rao, who is a melodramatic socialite and a wannabe singer,trying hard to woo the owner of a music company. "I had Kim in mind to play the role since she's got a famous social life. I had extensive talks with her and she agreed but the deal was getting very difficult to finalise. Meanwhile, we were writing the scenes for the socialite who had a dog," says Director Sagar Ballary, the director of Bheja Fry. The director was on the lookout for a suitable dog. His costume designer Priya Agni came to his rescue suggesting Bhairavi Goswami's dog. "Priya suggested that we use Bhairavi's dog and that is when I remembered Bhairavi, the Gladrags winner. She's much talked-about in social circles. I thought of casting Bhairavi for the role and she also had the right dog!" says the director. Then lightening struck."I thought of casting Bhairavi because of her dog but luck was not on our side as on the very first day, James Bond, the dog died. She was in an extreme state of shock after its death and refused to do the film. But we somehow hired another dog and got the film going," says Sagar.
