Bollywood astrologers give verdicts for Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan weddingAs the sun moves into the sign of Taurus the Bull and mighty Saturn ends it baleful retrograde transit of Leo Bollywood is preparing for the wedding on the century as its two greatest stars, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan, prepare to celebrate their own nuptual conjunction.
Under the starry Mumbai skies at Bachchan's family residence the evening wedding ceremony will take place according to Hindu traditions.
These have been computed according to exacting astrological lore that focuses strongly on Aishwarya, a former Miss World.
The cosmic aspects link well to her natal compatibility of the day's quintile angle between fiery Mars - transiting Pisces - and Pluto, Lord of Riches and Lord of Karma - crossing the 28th degree of Sagittarius.
"This is a very creative angle and the married couple can make piles of cash under such a transit," said one starry advisor.
However, not all consultants are happy about relying on this major aspect and have warned that some stargazers have recently relegated Pluto to the astrological dustbin. In Indian astrology it still counts alot.
Looking at Bachchan's own birth chart there is a great affinity to the day's other major transit, a conjunction of the Moon and Venus in the sign of Gemini, the Twins.
"This will be fruitful for the couple and a brace of children can be expected very shortly after the marriage.
"Better insure against twins or even triplets. The stars are favorable for multiple births."
The day's major starry spectacle will be visible just after sunset as the young crescent moon dances in the western heavens with the shimmering Venus, goddess of love.
However, some minor lunar oppositions later in the day do not augur all that favorably for an entirely uneventful and large wedding gathering.
So it is understandable that some in the couple's inner circle will be attending the starry nuptuals.
Of those invited as close friends Anil Ambani - an industrialist, politician Amar Singh, as well as fellow actors Kajol and her husband Ajay Devgan, Preity Zinta and Sanjay Dutt.
The groom's family, along with parents Bollywood film superstar Amitabh Bachchan and famous actress mother turned politician, Jaya Bachchan will be there along with childhood friends, now film directors Apoorva Lakhia and Rohan Sippy.
But other big names such as top Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Rani Mukherjee will be absent tomorrow.
Astrologers have advised the couple to keep it simple - apart from hiring 400 or so security guards who will watch over the day's proceedings as well as eleven priests who will be in charge of conducting the actual marriage ceremony.
"As above so below is the cosmic advice we offer the bride and groom. The stars show their favor but do not overdo it."

Abhishek Bachchan

Abhishek should change his name
...and so should Aishwarya Rai advises Niraj Mancchanda, the handwriting and numerology expert who had predicted that they would get married before June 2007.
- Abhishek Bachchan in number 5 and Aishwarya Rai is number 1. Add her date of birth 1/11/1973= 1+1+1+1+9+7+3=23=2+3=5. That抯 her destiny number. She抯 got Abhishek who is number 5. She was in love with him in the 32nd year of her life.
- Aishwarya抯 handwriting reveals that she will never go against her family and values her family a lot. She is extremely attached to her mother. The marriage has been agreed to after the consent of her mother.
- Abhishek Bachchan comes to number 49=4+9=13. He needs to write his name as Abhishek A Bachchan which comes to number 50. There are chances that he would have some health problems/accidents between 2007 end and the start of 2008. He needs to get some pujas and upays performed to remedy the problem.
- Aishwarya should drop the surname Rai and use it as Aishwarya Bachchan. Her name will come to number 46=4+6=10=1. 46 is the number of immortality and as she is number 1 she will use her own number. If she decides to use Aishwarya Rai Bachachan then it comes to number 50 which is also an outstanding number but 46 is stronger for her as she is number 1 (born on November 1).
- After marriage the couple will fight quite a bit and with both of them being such strong personalities and will have ego problems. When comparing Abhishek抯 and Aishwarya抯 signature, it reveals that Aishwarya has a bigger ego than Abhishek.
- If the pujas aren抰 performed and the health problems/accidents occur for Abhishek, there are chances of a rift between the couple, but they will live together and will manage their married life beautifully.
- Not only Aishwarya Rai but any girl in the world who continues to write her maiden name before the husband抯 surname will always give more priority to her maiden family and the importance to the husband抯 family will be secondary after marriage. This is because the maiden surname is written before the husband抯 surname. To give more importance to the husband抯 family is only possible if the maiden surname is dropped. Thus Aishwarya should use Aishwarya Bachchan.
- Since Aishwarya抯 handwriting reveals that she is attached to her mother a lot, if she uses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan then her mother will definitely interfere in their married life.

Ash, Abhi finally lucky in love On April 20 actors Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai will be proclaimed man and wife but the couple抯 respective journey to the mandap hasn抰 been smooth. So, here's a look at their romantic link-ups till holy matrimony happened
Mumbai: They are Bollywood's latest golden couple. Actor and scion of Bollywood's first family weds former Miss World and A-list actress in her own right.
But it's not been a smooth ride in cupid's territory for either Abhishek or Aishwarya.
Even before Bachchan Junior made a splash on the big screen he was courting actress Karisma Kapoor and things were serious enough for an engagement to be announced on Amitabh Bachchan's 60th birthday in 2002.
But the ties snapped within a year and the Kapoors and Bachchans parted ways.
While Abhishek was romancing Karisma, Aishwarya was acting out her reel romance with Salman Khan in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in real life. But the affair made news for all the wrong reasons.
By 2002 Vivek Oberoi, then an upcoming actor, became Aishwarya's knight in shining armour, almost rescuing the actress from the alleged abusive relationship.
The resulting clash between the men in her life became fodder for tabloids and gossip columns.
As critics gave a thumbs down to the couple's onscreen chemistry, Aishwarya kept mum on the personal equation. Soon international fame bekoned Aishwarya and even before Vivek realised it |

Now, A Film on Aish's Life.
Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai, who will tie the knot with Abhishek Bachchan tomorrow, has inspired a film director to make a film on her life. Shakeel S Saifee, who is directing the movie which went on floors yesterday, claims that he has earlier made two films like Feel the touch and Khariddar.
Speaking to reporters on the sets of the film, Shakeel said making a film on Ash was his way of wishing her on her wedding. 'Ash is a role model to aspiring female artistes, who wish to make it big in Bollywood. She has proved that women in celluloid world can make it big by their sheer talent," he said.
The film will dwelve on Ash's success as a model, winning the Miss World title, making it big in Bollywood, which will also include the Salman Khan, Vivek Oberoi episodes in her life and finally her marriage.
In the film, the character of Ash is called Mahi. "Her screen name is Aishwarya. She is a top actress. The character who plays Abhishek Bachchan is not an actor but a wealthy businessman. While Salman Khan is called Max in the film, who is a painter. Vivek Oberoi is the villain. He is a collegian, who aspires to be an actor," Shakeel said.
The mahurat shot of Aishwarya Rai My Ideal was taken on Ashwini Kale, playing role of Aishwarya Rai, Arun Sikarwar as Abhishek, and Akshar Sanjay, enacting role of Salman. It was a wedding scene of Aishwarya and Abhishek, while Salman looks on. Director Shakeel Saifee says 'this is not a real story but yet it is inspired by Aishwarya Rai's life".
Shakeel said he will release the film in August. He also plans to hold special programme of organising marriages of poor boys and girls every year on April 20 to mark Ash's wedding anniversary.

Aishwarya Rai's secretary goes emotional on her wedding
Aishwarya's secretary, who has been with the Bollywood star since she joined the film industry, is willing to serve the actor as long as she wants.
"It is left to Abhishek and Aishwarya to decide. I have been with her since she joined the industry and would continue supporting her and rendering my services, if needed," Hari Singh said from Mumbai when asked whether he would continue as Aishwarya's secretary after her marriage.
Singh could not hide his emotions while describing Aishwarya's marriage as the 'happiest moment' in his life.
"It is the happiest moment for me. My association with her is quite long as she has been a daughter to me and she too has always given me respect like a father," he said.
"This is life. You spent some time with your daughters and later they get married and become daughters of two families," said Singh, who had also served as secretary to Sridevi and Padmini Kolhapure.

Ash-Abhishek in demand for endorsements | | Bollywood is ready for its biggest marriage in years when actress Aishwarya Rai weds Abhishek Bachchan.
The Friday evening ceremony is due to be held at Bachchan's residence in India's film capital, Mumbai (Bombay).
Meanwhile Advertising industry is ready to use this couple for their products. The sources said several leading companies had already flocked to the latest couple in tinsel town for brand endorsements and the price they could command was estimated to be Rs 10-12 crore, which is substantially more than the Rs 6-8 crore charged by Mrs & Mr Devgan, who have already shown their star power in brand endorsement.
That's not a surprise as Rai and the junior Bachchan are already hot property individually. While Rai endorses seven brands across eight categories, the junior Bachchan endorses 11 brands across nine categories (as of December 2006), according to AdEX India, a division of TAM Media Research.
Rai endorses global beauty and skincare brand L'Oreal Paris, Swiss watch brand Longines, Lux and Coke, among others. On the other hand, Abhishek has increased his endorsement rates by almost a crore after the success of his movies Bunty Aur Babli by Yash Raj Films and Mani Ratnam's Guru. Currently, Bachchan endorses American Express, LG Electronics, and radio station Big 92.7 FM, among others.
Sunil Doshi, who handles Abhishek's endorsements says, "Brands have indeed approached them for endorsements, but at the moment we are busy with the wedding. Interested brands can approach us after the wedding."
The highest individual endorsement rate is enjoyed by Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan who charge around Rs 4-5 crore for a single brand. Adman Prasoon Joshi, the brain behind roping in Kajol-Ajay, said the Bachchan couple will certainly be mobbed by brands.

Big B to play a genie | | If Jhankaar Beats director Sujoy Ghosh had his way, he would have cast Amitabh Bachchan in a realistic train drama called Borivali" two years ago.
"That didn't work out. But I'll make Borivali only with Amitabh," said Ghosh .
"But now my dream is coming true. I'm directing Amitabh in a film to be produced by the Sippys (Ramesh and Rohan Sippy)."
Tentatively entitled Alladin & The Mystery Of The Lamp, the film has Amitabh Bachchan playing a genie. It is expected to take children's cinema from India to an international level.
"I'm making a children's fantasy - an Arabian nights kind of spectacle with the best possible special effects and the most advanced technique of storytelling," said Ghosh.
It looks like Krrish, followed by Dhoom 2 have brought in the magic of high-octane FX into Bollywood. Ghosh's film will have some of the most eye-catching spectacles ever seen in Indian cinema.
"In fact, I'm right now scouting for international talent to do the special-effects. I've my wish list of technicians and I hope to get them all. We'll arrive at an approximate budget only after the special effects are in place. But it's bound to be large.
"Amitabh is very clear about the fact that if he's doing a children's film the production value has to be on par with international standards. The confidence comes from getting to work with the world's best star-actor. You've to admit that working with AB is a dream come true, a long-cherished fantasy. That's why I'm making a fantasy film with him."
This won't be Amitabh's first fantasy film. He did Shashi Kapoor's Ajooba many years ago. But it would certainly be his first children's film and almost certainly the only time he'll get to play a genie. |

When Vivek Oberoi was left dancing all alone!
Vivek Oberoi抯 co-stars pulled a prank on the actor while they were shooting for the upcoming film Shootout At Lokhandwala .
Just a few weeks back, a bar song was being picturized on Vivek Oberoi , Tusshar Kapoor and Rohit Roy at Kamalistan Studio in the suburban Mumbai. The song shows Vivek trying to flirt with Aarti Chabria .
It was during this shoot, Tusshar and Rohit decided to pull a fast one on Vivek. And they took the director Apoorva Lakhia into confidence before playing the prank.
Tusshar and Rohit told Vivek that there is a dance sequence in the song, which only three of them have to do. The steps in the sequence were apparently a bit raunchy (with pelvic thrusts et al).
Sporty by nature, Vivek was all game for the sequence. He was dancing in the front. Tusshar and Rohit were behind him. Apoorva Lakhia was on the camera.

Bollywood's Bachchan, Rai wed in Hindu ceremony
By Krittivas Mukherjee
Fri Apr 20, 11:05 AM ET
MUMBAI (Reuters) - Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, one of Bollywood's best-known screen couples, married on Friday in a traditional Hindu wedding in which the groom rode a white horse before the pair took their vows around a sacred fire.
The ceremonies concluded three days of celebrations at the actors' homes in India's entertainment capital of Mumbai, creating, what industry pundits said is, Bollywood's ultimate power couple.
Rai, 33, is a former Miss World and Bachchan, 31, belongs to Indian film royalty, being the son of Amitabh Bachchan, the country's best-known actor who has a huge fan following around the world.
Bachchan, wearing a white "bandhgala" or a long Indian tunic, a silver-colored turban and a veil of flowers on his face, rode a white horse as part of a custom and waved to hundreds of fans gathered outside his house.
The groom's party then moved to another Bachchan residence nearby where the marriage was solemnized by priests who chanted hymns from ancient Indian scriptures amid the blowing of conch shells and ululation, sources involved with the wedding said.
The celebrations have transfixed Bollywood and sent India's celebrity-obsessed media into a frenzy even though the Bachchans have tried to keep the event strictly private and low-key because the groom's grandmother is ill.
But fans did not leave the couple -- dubbed as "Abhiash" by the Indian media which likens them to the Hollywood celebrity duo of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie -- alone as hundreds of them lined the roads leading to the marriage venue.
Police briefly used batons to push back over-enthusiastic fans.
"LOVER" SLASHES WRIST
Many fans slept on the pavement outside Bachchan's house to catch a glimpse of the stars.
"I don't have an invitation but I have come to bless the couple," said Keshav Srivastav, a look-alike of Bachchan senior who drew cheers from the amused crowd.
Earlier, the celebrations were marked by drama after an Indian woman claiming to be Bachchan's lover slashed her wrist in front of his home.
She told reporters she wanted to kill herself because Bachchan had gone back on his promise of marrying her after having "physical relations" with her. Police arrested the woman -- described as a struggling fashion model -- for attempting suicide, a punishable offence.
Police refused to register a complaint against Bachchan, saying the model had no proof of the relationship and it looked like a publicity stunt.
Rai and Bachchan have worked together in at least five films, and both have been romantically linked in the past to other Bollywood stars.
Rai, who has acted in over 40 films, was crowned Miss World in 1994. Bachchan too has notched up about 40 movies.

Colour, confusion and crowd... it was every bit the grand filmy wedding as Abhishek Bachchan, astride a horse, wearing a gold-coloured sherwani and a white turban bedecked with flowers, arrived on a hot Friday evening to wed Aishwarya Rai.
Bollywood's power couple finally tied the knot in a grand ceremony that entralled most of the nation - never mind if the only details of the closely guarded event that filtered out were grainy zoom shots from TV cameras stationed across the road
Aishwarya reached the Bachchans' Juhu residence 'Prateeksha' in a silver Mercedes decorated with flowers along with her mother and brother.
At almost the same time, the baraat left the other Bachchan bungalow 'Jalsa', with a visibly anxious Amitabh Bachchan ushering his guests into the waiting Volvo buses that would take them to the wedding venue.
His face covered with a sehra of white flowers, Abhishek did a small jig for the baraatis and waved cheerily to his fans and onlookers gathered around.
While photographers scrambled to train their cameras at the goings-on, curious stargazers climbed up trees, railings and even hoardings to get a first-hand view.
Amid the sea of saffron turbans sported by the baraatis, several close friends like actor Danny Denzongpa, industrialist Anil Ambani and director Goldie Behl could be seen.
The Bollywood celebrities who arrived to bless the couple also included Sonali Bendre, Preity Zinta, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgan and Kajol.
With so many high-profile guests, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, at least 1,000 security personnel swarmed both the flower bedecked Bachchan homes. The road outside 'Prateeksha' was blocked.
Friday's wedding was the climax of three-day festivities that included a sangeet and a mehendi ceremony that were equally secretive.
The buzz around the Abhi-Ash marriage started last year and had been steadily getting louder even though the Bachchans never announced it officially because they wanted to keep it a private affair.
TV shots and newspaper pictures of guests, who kept floating in and out of their house from Wednesday, were the only proof that the big fat Indian wedding was finally taking place.
Both the Bachchan residences were turned into fortresses and for the uninvited, getting in was next to impossible.
The Bachchans not only took care of their own privacy, they were thoughtful enough not to disturb their neighbours - the lawns at the venue were covered with soundproofed, air-conditioned tents.
Members of the film fraternity who made it to the guest list showed cooperation towards the first family of Bollywood - none of the invitees breathed out a single detail about the wedding.
"They have invited all those people who are emotionally close to them," Amar Singh said in an interview to a TV channel in an apparent explanation for some conspicuous absentees like neighbour Hrithik Roshan and all the Khans.

Shah Rukh, Salman in Abhi-Ash wedding?
[table=98%][tr][td]No, no, the Bollywood Khans were not physically present in yesterday's wedding. As you know, Bachchans have not invited the Khans. But as per source, at the sangeet party, the Bachchans and Rais quite enjoyed dancing to the popular numbers of Khans. The to-be bride and groom also had no reservation dancing to the numbers. The eventful sangeet party, which happened till the wee hours, however had virtual presence of the Khans. Besides Khans, there were many other big stars, who hadn't got invitation for Abhishek-Aishwarya wedding |

I didn`t came to be with John | John Abraham currently shooting for Goal in London flew back into Mumbai for just the day.
Those who saw John emerging from the airport in the morning presumed he had flown back for the Abishek-Aishwarya wedding. However the couple wasn't invited for wedding.
John was in town to attend an event in Powai organized by Clinic shampoo. He also stole time off to rush home to see his mother who has been extremely ill in the last couple of months, before flying back in London to re-join the Goal unit.
Says Bipasha, "I joined John in Mumbai from Dubai where I'm shooting for Abbas-Mustan's Race."
Before we burst into Le mein tere vaste sab chhod ke aa gayee, Bipasha bursts the bubble. "I didn't return to Mumbai to be with John. Please! We spent more than enough time together in London for Goal.
We were both needed for the shampoo event. John really wanted to meet his mother. We barely got a chance to spend any time together. Before we knew it John was back in London and I am in Dubai."
This is one couple that believes in giving each other space. "I don't think there's any lack of time together. Any more would be unacceptable to both of us."
