Pagi, ampullaria merupakan satu2nya specis yg tidak memiliki upper pitcher. fungsi upper pt tu utk bergayut pada ranting pokok, sebab tulah klu kita tengo tangkai upper pitcher ianya bergulung pada satu bahagian, di situlah tempat dia bergayut supaya dahan dan potnya terus dpt menegak. unikkan Tuhan telah cipta sesuatu yg menarik utk kita kagumi dan nikmati kebaikanNya. |

Hi Bical,
ampullaria memiliki upper pitcher, tapi amat jarang sekali dihasilkan.
Sebenarnya ampullaria juga bersifat memanjat, tetapi perkara ini jarang2 berlaku. Sebab itulah upper pitchers jarang dihasilkan. |

the remaining stem will survive, jusr treat it as before. New shoots will emerge klau nk selamat, provide more humidity by wrapping it up with plastic bag. Tapi actually, ada certain species yang keluar pucuk lebih cepat klau tak wrap berbanding wrap. I tried with n. gracilis.. batang yang tak dibungkus lebih cepat keluar pucuk berbanding batang yang dibungkus. But this does not apply to ampullaria which really needs high humidity to root and send out new shoots.. |

heheh.. finally u get the chance to repot it. Well, actually im doing some experiment on my hardiest nep: the n. gracilis on different gowing media besides peat/ sphagnum moss. Im trying on 3 media samples: red burnt soil + sand, topsoil + sand and the black soil + sand. So far, all the plants are showing positive response. But maybe its because n. gracilis is a vigorous grower, so the results cannot be applied to other neps.. will update with the results |

well we share the cost, then when the plant is big enough, do a cutting.
Let's say we share the cost.. u take care of the plant, then when it is big enough, do a cutting and give it to me.. or vice versa, i dont mind that is if u insist.. |

Ohhh.. tak terbaca pula bagian ni. Tq buat infonya.. pokok ni pandai menyesuaikan diri, bila dia mau memanjat secara sendiri keluar upper pitchersnya.
saya ada pengalaman dengan gracilis, bila kita tanam dlm pasu yg di gantung dan biarkan batangnya terjuntai, pokoknya tidak menghasilkan upper pitchers. dah panjang 1 meter lebih dan dah berbunga beberapa kali. |

that sounds tempting, but Jon said that the plant is too small & not worth the price... Maybe what bugbeware is offering will be a better deal. |

Yup, but slowly. I mean today bukak sekejap, dalam 2-3 hours, then tutup balik. Then tomoro bukak 3-4 jam pulak, then tutup balik the plastik and so forth. This is to help the plant acclimitize to its new environment. This process is called hardening the plant

Shekh Mohd Hussen Bakar Rafie, born in the holy city of Makkah passed away shortly after 6pm on the 2nd of July, 2007 AD@ 16 Jamadil Akhir 1428 AH at the grand old age of 107.
He was my grandfather and I know he is in a better place now but nothing can describe how numb I feel at this moment. I need to grieve.

Nope he died in Penang, he always wanted to be buried next to his wife, my grandmother.
