‘Bride of the Century’ becomes most searched on Sina’s Weibo
TV Chosun weekend drama ‘Bride of the Century’ has gained a tremendous response in China following its premiere on February 22nd, as it topped Sina’s Weibo search chart. The result also meant it overtook SBS TV hit drama series ‘My Love from the Star’ (3rd) and tvN drama ‘Emergency Couple’ (7th).
The production team said, “The gradual progression of the story and the beautiful cinematography were reasons that drew the attention of Chinese viewers. Another reason was that F.T. Island’s Lee Hong Ki was the one leading the drama as Choi Kang Joo.”
Netizens commented, “’Bride of the Century’ is really interesting, time travel dramas are really infectious,” “The high class hanok, beautiful departmental store, and scenic natural scenery are all very pretty,” “Really looking forward to the maturing acting of lead actor Lee Hong Ki,” “The mature acting, and beautiful cinematography are really attractive.”
‘Bride of the Century’ revolves around a family who has been under a curse for 100 years, where the first bride of the family’s first son would die. It is the turn of Choi Kang Joo (Lee Hong Ki) in the drama as he begins his quest to save his wife, amidst conspiracies and betrayals which threaten the fairy-tale like romance from being realized. The drama airs every Saturday and Sunday at 8PM (KST)
