Kareena and Shahid start shooting in ShimlaAfter a fortnight of shooting in Manali, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor have begun a weeklong spell of shooting in Shimla for the film 'The Train'.

Hundreds of people gathered Sunday to watch the duo shoot several scenes in downtown Shimla.

The film unit began filming again Monday and the shooting is likely to continue until the weekend at several locations in the resort town.

There is a great possibility of Don 2 coming on the screen soon.

After the resounding success of the remake of 1978抯 Amitabh Bachchan-starrer Don, both the director Farhan Akhtar and Shah Rukh Khan have now shown their eagerness to make a sequel of the movie. While initially it was just eagerness, things seem to have been finalised now. There is a great possibility of Don 2 coming on the screen soon. The remake had left the opportunity for a sequel so possibilities cannot be ruled out completely. There is a buzz going around that except for the beautiful Priyanka Chopra, the entire cast of Don would be retained in the sequel. Reportedly, Priyanka is likely to be replaced by another beauty queen Sushmita Sen. So if things move in the right direction, now Sushmita will be playing the leading lady.

The film which has been in the works since late 1990's is to be produced by Corsan Productions, Belgium in partnership with Neelmudra Entertainment, India on a budget of $35 million.

According to Asiaonline, the story of the film spans two continents and time periods and revolves around a British officer in colonial India in love with an Indian girl (Ash), and an American marine biologist struggling to save his research partner who is trapped in the wreckage of a colonial Brit merchant ship.

Bipasha's brief sojourn in Cannes

Bipasha Basu rues the fact that she couldn抰 savor the spirit of Cannes Film Festival because of her very short trip there.

Bipasha was at Cannes along with boyfriend John Abraham for the UTV press conference and luncheon held on May 18 to promote their movie Goal .

Bips arrived at Cannes in the morning, attended the press meet, gave a few brief interviews and flew back to Mumbai in the evening to begin shooting for a movie the next morning.

In such a short and hectic trip Bipasha wasn抰 able to see Cannes, nor catch any movie, nor go for shopping or swimming.

Moreover, she couldn抰 meet Hollywood actor Jude Law whom her beau John did meet later at a party in Cannes.

However, Bipasha liked the ambience of Cannes very much. She says she would love to go there once again.

May be next year, Bips.

As a footnote, it must be added that Bipasha抯 dressing sense was much Indian (she wore a sari) compared to the completely western dresses worn by Aishwarya Rai and Preity Zinta at the fest. Here抯 a woman who prides over traditional Indian dresses despite the fact that she has more sex appeal than Ash and Preity.

Shah Rukh Khan inaugurates ICICI Qatar branch

Shah Rukh Khan who replaced Amitabh Bachchan as brand ambassador of ICICI bank flew down to Qatar yesterday to inaugurate its branch there. SRK interacted with the media in a very friendly way by answering all their questions very diplomatically. SRK also announced the winners of a contest by presenting them with an autographed copy of his biography. Qatar is ICICI's seventh overseas branch and it operates in countries like USA, UK, Canada, Russia, Singapore and Sri Lanka.

Shilpa Shetty will dance to Bollywood numbers at the IIFA awards

A household name in the UK today, Shilpa is getting ready to perform at the upcoming IIFA awards function in her 'second home' Yorkshire on June 17.  "Shilpa Shetty is a global winner," says DNA, "She is enjoying one of the most celebrated victories in Indian history."  Shilpa says, "It's definitely going to be an exciting experience, all the more because it's being held in Yorkshire."  This will be Shilpa's first performance in England after her Big Brother victory. She will perform to all the top songs of the year from Bollywood films.  "I want to show England what Bollywood song and dance is all about," says Shilpa excitedly.  Reports say that her birthday may also be celebrated in the IIFA function.  "I don't know about any such plans," she laughs, "I feel blessed with so much attention and love."  Shilpa's next film Apne that has Dharmendra and his sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, performing together for the first time is releasing soon. She is thrilled with a second release so soon after the wonderful success of Life In A Metro, which is doing excellent business in India.  "In Apne, I play the daughter-in-law of an Indian family," she says, "I am 'married' to the whole family rather than to my husband alone, just like the ideal Indian bahu."

UK is second home for Shilpa Shetty

Celebrity Big Brother winner and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has called the UK her second home.

Shilpa, who is set to open a chain of Indian curry restaurants in Britain, said that the country has given her more fame than India.

Basu was at Cannes Film Festival not even for a full day.This was her first trip to Cannes. She reached their with John in the morning and was out by late afternoon as she had to be back in Mumbai. All she had time for were the press events for our film.

The worst blow was when she missed meeting Jude Law. John met him at a party hosted by a sportswear company for another football film at the festival.

The ambience at Cannes was very likeable not just for movie buffs but everyyone from shoppers to general people strolling by the riverside. The busy actress also had to cancel her holiday to Goa because of her packed schedule.

Back home, she has another Hollywood icon is all out praising her on Koffee With Karan. Richard Gere has described her on the talk- show as "bright hot and desirable." Bipasha laughs pleasurably.

After five years of poker-faced spoil-sport roles, in Apoorva Lakhia's Shoot-out At Lokhandwala Arbaaz is finally loosening up. He's cast as a cop who provides many light moments.

"My character Javed Sheikh is a bit of a linguistic with a master-command over many languages. He keeps correcting everyone's language.

Though he doesn't mean to be, he's quite comical. Likewise my character in Feroz Naidiadwala's Fool & Final. I play this ganglord called Moscow Chikna who's always in a rage over goof-ups in his organization. He isn't consciously being funny. But comes across as such to those around him."

Aamir overthrows his director!

Aamir Khan will debut as a director with Taare Zameen Par. The film that was earlier supposed to be directed by Amol Gupte but is being directed by Aamir Khan due to creative differences and being in mutual agreement. The film is a sensitive story of a child and his teacher. Aamir as a director has been confirmed by Aamir Khan Productions. This is the production house's second film after its first venture Lagaan. Apparently after the first week of shooting when Aamir saw the rushes of Taare Zameen Par he was not happy with what he saw and felt that Amol Gupte's original script was not translated well on screen. So Aamir called Amol and bluntly expressed his displeasure. Aamir also offered to return the script to Amol, so that he could make the film for another producer, with another actor. However, Amol insisted that Aamir produce and act in the film. He wasn't ready to go to any other producer. And it was Amol's decision to step down as the film's director. Amol finally suggested that Aamir direct the film. Amol also felt that he would be most comfortable with Aamir as director, as he had spent a lot of time with Aamir on the script. Aamir after a lot of thought decided to go ahead and direct the film. Aamir decided to don the director's cap mainly because any new director coming in at this point would not be familiar with the script and the shooting would take a back seat for a few months taking them back to pre-production stages!!!! Another reason why Aamir decided to direct the film was that they couldn't delay the film's shooting to 2007 summer, when the schools are shut. They also had to be careful as the film's child protagonist, Darsheel Safary, would grow up considerably and the production house would have to look for another child for the sake of continuity, if the film's shooting was delayed. Aamir wanted Darsheel to play the main role, as he was the perfect choice. Aamir has already been creatively involved in his films like Lagaan, Dil Chahta Hai and Rang de Basanti. The shooting of Taare Zameen Par is now complete and the film is in its post-production stages. The film will release in December 2007.

Now Vikram ropes in Aftab as a main villain

Directors may come and director may go but one film maker who has stuck to Aftab Shivdasani and given him meaty roles ever since the two of them came together in KASOOR is Vikram Bhatt.

2007 has seen RED and LIFE MEIN KABHI KABHIEE to their names and it would be a hat trick soon when SPEED releases all over. This time around, there is a lot more fun expected because Aftab plays the main villain in the film.

A multi starrer, SPEED stars Urmila Matondkar, Zayed Khan, Sanjay Suri, Aashish Chaudhary and Amrita Arora in the lead roles while Aftab plays the prime antagonist.

Produced by Harry Baweja, SPEED has been in the making for 2 years but is now finally ready for release as it looks forward to arrive on June 22nd.

Emraan, DJ Suketu, Mustafa in AWARAPAN music video

The hit machine continues to churn out one great product after another.

Bhatts and Emraan have always got it right and AWARAPAN seems to be no exception. The music of their keenly awaited AWARAPAN has just released and with Pritam as the music arranger for the tracks that have originally been composed by Pakistani artists, the music is fast catching up heat.

To take on the music stands heads on, team of AWARAPAN has now come up with a promotional music video of the track 'Woh Phir Aao' which opens up the album. The track features Emraan in the look, which he carries in most part of AWARAPAN. Along with him, the stage is shared by singer/composer Mustafa, his band and DJ Suketu himself who remixes the number.

The video is completely different from any other promotional video seen so far as it comes with a rock setting and has nothing conventional about it, as has been the trend with most promotional videos.

This one truly ROCKS and is bound to add on to the numerous hits that Emraan already has to his name!

Juhi pairs up with Manoj Bajpai for SWAMI

Juhi Chawla is at that stage of her career where she can comfortably experiment with her roles in each movie of hers. Her recent releases SALAA-E-ISHQ and BAS EK PAL saw her playing different characters and the same is expected from her upcoming film SWAMI. The film is unusual for number of reasons with most prominent being the pairing, which sees Juhi opposite Manoj Bajpai. While Juhi started her big screen career more than two decades back, Manoj Bajpai made his mark with SATYA around a decade back though he was noticed in BANDIT QUEEN too.

With SWAMI, choreographer turned film director Ganesh Acharya has considered the two for a unique pairing in his debut film and is now looking forward to the film's release.

Though the storyline of the film is currently being kept under the wraps, whispers within the industry indicate that Ganesh has shed his flamboyance as witnessed in his dance moves and has instead focused on subtle narrative centered on human emotions.

SWAMI is expected to arrive on June 8, a week before JHOOM BARABAR JHOOM.
