JAKARTA REPORT around sept 2005.....

to get around in jakarta..i naik motor scooter yang macam tuk tuk kat bangkok.
it is a rugged vehicle tapi menyeramkan when the driver weave in and out of the lane.standard fare is about 10,000 rupiah (S$1.80) about 15 to 30 minutes trip.

i'm staying kat sarinah...hotel mahal sikit,with taxes it's US$104 for 2 nights...perit seh..this is my first trip to jakarta...i don't really know what to expect.most of the time,i'm out wandering ..to pay $80 plus a night for accomodation is  expensive to me.i try looking for cheaper rooms,tapi hotel yang ada are expensive.

i baca kat net,people say be wary of this and that.alhamdullilah i'm ok.actually i pakai t-shirt buruk and  with my backpack...people don't take notice of me.
shopping wise....i saw levis but mahal sikit,about $50....i tak beli.
food court is ok...i  ate the kebab....very  sedap with the vegetable salad.
mccafe ...the smoothie is very good.....


ISTIQLAL  MOSQUE

on sunday petang i went to the mosque...hari dah nak gelap and maghrib was aroung 6 pm.the most is so BIG...the dome is super big....i nak ambik gambar kat dalam..the place is dark,jadi i tak snap photos sangat.
yesterday morning,i went to the mosque again.i went inside the mosque and snap alot of photos.what more can i saw...the MOSQUE IS AWESOME in term of size.the marble flooring pun cantik...
i saw alot of buses with indonesians coming to visit the mosque.
at the mosque compond ada road side stall....actually they bentang the food on the ground...and you choose what you want and eat.
there are  road side pedlars selling t shirts and souvenirs too.
i saw 2 small kids playing and running kat the edge of the canal near the mosque.it was real scary,kalo jatuh dalam river,that's it.the water is murky...i told my wife...let's go....


TANAH ABANG

ni tempat banyak road stall.dah macam super bazaar ....the place is just too big.i saw a very big store tak ingat nama nya...but it is super big..macam castle siak dari jauh.
kat tanah abang ada masjid...mak ooi segala macam tasbih ada di jual.korma stall pun banyak.those pots yang tarok ayer zam zam pun on sale...macam2 design i saw.will post the photos soon.
actually ni tempat banyak jual kain baju..they do wholesale and retail.i wife bought a blouse and it's only 20,000 rupiah (S$3.50).she bought 5 pieces,kalo bukak kedai kat bazaar geylang you can sell for $10.00.
as usual they sell other stuffs too.they have lots of makan and drink stalls.ada jugak i saw orang bawak small kandang dorang jual rabbit.cute cute ni rabbits.fruits stalls pun ada.but the tebu that they sell.is different from what we have in spore.the tebu there..is thinner.
in the hustle and bustle of the place...ada kandang jual kambing.and i saw the feed the kambing with jagung punya skin.bau kuat seh.

I SAW 2 STALLS JUAL RIFLE.NI RIFLE BETUL...I ASKED THE GUY...PAK,NI SENAPANG BETUL?

DIA KATA NI RIFLE UNTUK SHOOT TIKUS AND BURUNG.
i posing 2 shots with 2 different rifles.will post the photos of the rifles soon.btw,the rifle cost 200,000 rupiah (S$34) ni belum tawar...very memorable this place to me.




PASAR BURUNG

ni tempat best,only think the smell kuat sikit...but i enjoyed myself here.
when you reached the place,the sound of birds singing greeted you.macam2 burung i saw for the first time.the first stall i saw...they have an eagle for sale.i tengok ni macam baby eagle.and on a cage they sell burung hantu...i thot i saw 4 ekor in a cage.
from here,i proceed to the pasar......mak ooi...macam2 burung ada...color nya cantik cantik...the bird cages too are colouful.a sight to behold....i ventured inside...ada jual turkey,ayam katik,dove,pigeons size nya gedek2,pipit,parrots and many more.i was here for an hour before i chow.
ada cages size nya so big,you can put a small boy inside.


JALAN SURABAYA

wooi ni tempat best.ni macam flea market.indonesian hanging lamps ...they are so cantik cantik....i bought one for 125,000 rupiah (S$21.00).
i went to this shop he offered me 350,000 rupiah...i tawar2 ...last price dia nak 200,000..i declined and walk away.
i saw this shop selling for 150,000..i asked for 100,000 dia tak kasi...ok i said we meet in the middle...and we agreed on 125,000.....semalam balik, lampu sua gantung...belum beli bulb aje.

i saw this toplaz antique in blue...real cute man....i tak beli.

a bought an old butterfly brouch for 40,000 rupiah...ni benda looks very old..i bought 2 pieces..for wife and daughter.

ada banyak record (piring hitam) shop...the cover is so old....i snap a photo of deep purple punya poster...weewiiiiiiiit.......deep purple seh...it made my day.

curios of many types can be found too...to flea market lovers like me....this is the place for you.




KAT JAKARTA

semalam while wandering..i masok kampong...SURPRISE SURPRISE
i saw a coke glass bottle yang 1 liter....weewiiit i bought one to simpan.
btw...i have 4 different types of 1 liter glass bottles.

i bought 2 tin of coke...i am a coke collector.

kat supermarket...i bought vanilla syrup..i bought only 1 bottle.this one very sedap...i regret not buying more.

the fanta bottled drinks....bottle nya stylo mylo...will post the photo soon.



KAT JAKARTA

i saw people on top of the train.kalo train biasa, i selalu nampak kat tv.
ni kira macam common sight.
the one i saw was  their  mrt system.scary seh,kalo jatuh....kalo tak salah i saw it at station gambir.

ok...taxi from airport to sarinah where i stayed was 86,000 rupiah...it looks like a long journey...kena bayar toll 3 kali...

along the way to the airport....on my right..ada banyak macam swampy areas  and big ponds.you can see many people fishing here.it it just beside the road.
by the river pulak,you can see squatters

Hi Faza, sorry Chic baru nampak posting Faza. Yes my parents dah 2 kalu gi tour ngan diorang. Sekali ke Padang, and baru bulan lepas tak silap Chic, diorang ke Bali. My parents very fond of these 2 guys. REason, diorang pandai jaga senior citizens ni semua. Pandai mabik hati, jaga hati diorang. Makan minum jaga betul2. That kinda thing la. They're very sincere. My parents join diorang pun sebab my frens punya parents recommend. So far, Chic tak pernah dengar any bad feedback. Semuanya bagus....:ah:

so then lepas tu lalu Marang, lawa ah.., aku nak gi ni tempat lain kali nak duk one night....the sun , the sand , the sea. Nengok cam murah jek for local people gitu. Those kampung houses dorang buat spare rooms untuk disewa. Belakang je pantai dah.

so intecen dorang pun cam those multi purpose hall jugak la...remind me of pasar tekka.tingkat 2 jual2 kain gitu, kat tingkat satu makan2...masih awal pagi so tak banyak gerai bukak lagi...
tapi aku sempat try makan kat sana bila aku nak balik ( more on that later ).

tak salah aku kat tengganu takde panggung wayang..
ni tak salah aku the very last one, pun dah jadi cam panggung spura kat geylang, jadi tempat jual kain baju. Tapi takde mekdi le hehehe.

so aku blum decide tau tu jam, aku nak duk kuala terengganu ni berapa lama..:hmm:
Aku jumpa tempat mandi awam, 1rm jek kat sebelah tempat teksi stand

Unfortunately, tempat mandi dia tak berapa comfy la untuk aku, so aku kensel , so aku pun gi carik hotel la.... aku pun panik takut budget lari kan..
so aku gi tanya 55rm, so aku tak cerewet la, hah ko, 55rm siap ada katil for 3 person and aku cek in 7plus in morning tau..not bad eh.
aku janji ada tempat taruk beg n mandi dah, tido? balik rumah bleh tido la kan.



one king size, one single one with attach bathroom, tv ( sorry no astro ), aircon, nice scenery, cek in early morning all for 55rm.
Not bad la kalo korang jenis tak tengok prestige.
So aku was thinking, hmmmn not bad eh, apek hotel lak percaya aku hidup2, tak cek tu ni, semua suruh aku tulis sendiri kat buku dia hehehe. Tapi wa jujur pe ngan dia.

my first view of kuala tengganu. bagunan more to the right tu is Hotel Seri Msia, ni memang up sikit la ...
Tapi kalo korang nak lagi UP, korang gi la primula ke apa ke, tapi pada aku no point la....
Anyway K.Terengganu ni aku the first 24 hrs, aku cuma nampak polis dua orang je sekali tu pun malam dorang ngah makan, its a safe place la, kalo compared to other places, jadi any hotel basically will do la, and the budget tu korang bleh buat lain.




Korang kalo tengok decorations kat junction tu is cina nye. Aku nengok cam orang cina kat tengganu ni cam, dorang able to lead their own life and mind their own business...dorang ada sort of chinatown sendiri and all that. More of that next time. Lagi aku pikir, eh cam best je ek..
Nanti ah sambung, aku nak kena blah....

one thing i like abt t'ganu, tempatnye bersih.
dep, ko tak pegi pulau2 ke? pulau kapas ke or pulau redang.... i went there for scuba diving for few times oredi.... nice place.

nope, aku just walk walk je... tu pun tanya tanya orang " sini pantai mana ek? " , then dorang just show the way aku jalan je la 30-40 minit nak sampai primula beach.
then tanya tu tanya ni...so aku just follow direction tapi
next round aku nak try gi Marang, pasal masa naik bas, aku nengok kat some rumah kampung tu dorang taruk sign " bilik untuk disewa " so aku assume these people rent rooms at their homes...
lawa ah Marang....aku nak gi ..

pulau kapas tu tak salah now tak bleh pegi...laut bergelora..

scuba diving? dah jangan carik pasal, aku swimming pun fail, kang kena makan jaws.:siok:

satu benda aku nengok eh , tempat k.tengganu ni kan,  tak bleh avoid islamic values la. Kira kalo korang nak try jadi prektising muslim, no way korang bleh fail to do so kalo korang ada kat sini.
Surau banyak siot...aku jalan sikit, surau, jalan sikit surau..jalan sikit surau, mak ai.::


these are some of the suraus yang aku sempat ambik gambo kat k.tengganu tu itself, dia kira one stretch of road menuju kota baru kot ( sorry if i'm mistaken )

then ni tingkat dua then belah partition tu ladies nyek.. typical surau set up la gini kat sana aku nengok, tapi timing kat tembok tu cam ada yang lari jek , screw loose kot.

Anyway dia sempat cakap kat aku " sini takde niteclub eh!! " muhahahahaahahah.

so aku jenjalan pusing sana sini aku nampak ni mosque, is very near to that big pasar n the mydin superstore gitu...

Serious bebual, walaupun ni mesjid ngan renovation, tapi kelawaan mesjid ni so obvious giler. Kalo dahbis renovate mesti style abis.

karpet dia, tenggelam wo kaki wa, lembutt giler. dia punye mimbar tak yah nak tinggi2 grand2, ana je.
