Bratty Khan is still loved by millions!!

Bollywood's handsome and controversial star Salman Khan might be again in a controversy, but he is still loved and adored by all. Presently, Salman Khan is in the thick of the controversy surrounding the wiretapped telephonic conversation that purportedly has him threatening Aishwarya Rai with his underworld links. Even though the investigating team still has to ascertain the veracity of the tapes (the police have taken voice samples of Salman and Aishwarya, and they have been sent to a forensic lab at Chandigarh), there are certain political groups who have beforehand labeled the star as a 'bad guy' and 'a traitor' demanding that the actor be booked under MOCA. The political group has also attempted to stop the screening of his latest movie Maine Pyar Kyon Kiya. However there are many who love Salman Khan for the person he is. Preity Zinta, who has worked with Salman in many films, calls him "a gem of a person". Sushmita Sen, his co-star in MPKK, believes Salman is "an honest guy." "What he (Salman) is inside, he is outside too," Sushmita told a news channel recently. And even if we avoid considering these opinions, there have been instances of Salman doing charity work, his support for cancer prevention and his bit for curbing tobacco consumption ? things that paint a picture of Salman as a responsible citizen. Though the bratty Khan has been involved in many controversies, the public still love him and will continue to love and support the star.

Karisma makes public appearance!!

Karisma Kapoor who had gone reclusive for some time now after her divorce controversy is finally coming out of the shell.Just last week the actress made her 1st public appearance,post the delivery of her baby girl when she inaugurated the children's ward at the newly renovated Wadia hospital at Parel & on Saturday the actress was seen at the Indian International Jewelry Show held at NSE Grounds in Goregaon.Moreover the actress had no guards escorting her and still looked quite comfortable with herself flaunting a dazzling smile.

Salman replaced by Shahid!

Salman Khan no longer seems to be the lucky mascot of filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya.It has been reported that Barjatya has approached Shahid Kapur to play the male lead in his next venture.It ought to be mentioned that Barjatya's preference of Shahid over Salman has nothing to do with the recent controversy Salman is embroiled in.In fact,the filmmaker had talks with Shahid abt the project many days before the Salman tape controversy came to the fore.Shahid is believed to have given his verbal consent to be a part of the movie but a formal announcement to this effect is yet to be made.Salman has worked in Barjatya's hit movies Maine Pyar Kiya & Hum Aapke Hain Kaun.

Aishwarya visits Siddhivinayak

The day after Mumbai police questioned Aishwarya Rai over the alleged taped conversation between her & Salman Khan, the actress visited the Siddhivinayak Temple seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha.

While bowing down & praying,she was heard whispering "Bappa bless me."

Manisha back in Varma's camp

Not having found a favorable nod from Ram Gopal Varma in any of his films since 'Company', Manisha is finally back in his camp.

Varma has signed her for two flicks; one an untitled project, while the other is the Chakravarty directed 'Darwaza Bandh Rakho' (Chunkey Pandey, Aftab Shivdasani).

Isha Koppikar was also supposed to be a part of the film. Since it was delayed by about a month (shooting began July 21st), Isha had committed her dates to Subhash Ghai's '36, China Town' (Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Upen Patel, directed by Abbas Mustan) and was forced to opt out of RGV's venture. 'Darwaza Band Rakho' is a black comedy.

Salman Takes Voice Test
  
Salman Khan was made to act & read out certain lines from the now infamous transcripts which are allegedly phone conversations between himself,Aishwarya Rai & Somi Ali.

A reluctant Salman read out the lines at the Crime Branch's office & this recording will be sent to the forensic laboratories in order to match it with the voice on the tapes.Apart from determining if the voice is indeed Salman's,the authentication test will also check if the tapes have been manipulated in any way.The results of these tests will be known in 1-2 weeks.

Arjun To Play Pran In 'Don'

Arjun Rampal will play Pran's role in Farhan Akhtar's hyped remake of yesteryear's blockbuster 'Don'.The title role is of course being played by Shah Rukh Khan while Zeenat Aman's role will be played by Priyanka Chopra.

This remake of 'Don' will have songs by Javed Akhtar,although 'Khaike paan Banares wala',the chartbuster from the original movie will be retained.

Anil Meets Nelson Mandela!

On July 13th,while shooting for his home production 'Gandhi My Father',Anil Kapoor had a rendezvous with South African leader Nelson Mandela. A visibly excited Anil couldn't stop gushing afterwards.

Anil said that Mandela has always been his hero and the meeting made for fond memories. The two had a long conversation, with Mandela telling Kapoor how he had spent 27 years in jail, and about his sons, both of who succumbed to AIDS.

Salman can't read Hindi!

Hindi film actor Salman Khan cannot read Hindi or so he told the cops when summoned for a voice analysis test yesterday.When he was given a dialogue sheet & asked to repeat a few lines that appeared on the audiotape containing his alleged conversations with Aishwarya Rai.

He surprised them by saying that he did not know how to read Hindi. Obviously,the police did not buy his story & he eventually ended up reading his lines!

Police take Aishwarya Rai's voice

The police collected a voice sample of Aishwarya Rai & recorded her statement to find out the authenticity of the audiotape in which Salman Khan openly spoke abt his alleged underworld links during his conversation with his ex-girlfriend.
