kos utk backpacker ke sane tdaklah trlalu tinggi...cover kos utk flight+penginapan+transport+mkn minom....less than rm5k....
sekiranye siape2 yg berminat bleh bincang dgn lebih lanjut ttg trip...tujuan sy hanya utk mencari teman perjalanan yg berkongsi same jadua, minat kerane risawkan soal keselamatan sekiranya pergi bersendirian....
musafir ni yg planning trip iran-turkey hari tu ke? amacam? dah settle smua?
Pasal trip chengdu-xining-lhasa-kathmandu ni sempat ke nak habiskan dlm 15 hari tu? bukan apa...satu perjalanan dia jauh, second once dah sampai Lhasa body kena sesuaikan diri dengan altitude sickness dulu dgn stay 2-3 hari kot, baru boleh gerak ke higher altitude....kalau tak merana....so based on that aku agaok perjalanan kat tibet (dari lhasa ke Katmandu) kena buat pelan2 pasal ketinggian boleh sampai lebih dari 5000m atas paras laut (yeah! higher than puncak Kinabalu).
Then pasal backpacking ni pulak, aku ada baca baru2 ni yg sejak 2008 gov china dah tak bagi backpacking2 dah kat Tibet. Takat Lhasa rasanya boleh lagi....tapi beyond Lhasa to Shigatse to EBC to Nepal border tu kena request permit dan wajib pakai domestic travel agent. Tak tau pasal apa China gov ubah policy tapi mmg ada kaitan dgn political unrest between Tibetian dgn kerajaan China tu lah. Permit, aku dengar sangat mahal...then TA pulak akan charge per individu dlm ratusan USD jugak la.....so basically hal permit dgn TA saja dah makan modal banyak.
Tapi mungkinlah u dah study banyak pasal ni, so mohon pembetulan kalau apa2 yg aku baca tu tak betul.

Kena tido kat guesthouse biara RongPhu monastery tu.

hmmm....kalau naik AA memang kena start dgn Chengdu la kan? tak tau apa ada kat lanzhou tapi sebelah barat dia tu Xining, rasanya ada train dari Chengdu ke Xining (mungkin lalu Lanzhou gak kot) and dekat Xining ada tasik garam besar Qinghai tu...lawa tasik ni.....kalau cukup masa wajib singgah.
so u nak tukar plan dari 'merentas tibet' kepada 'merentas laluan sutera'? (boleh elak permit, TA dan altitude sickness) Xining-Urumqi-Kashgar smua termasuk silk road dah tu....tak ingat baca kat mana hari tu, ada statement cakap the best way to experienced silk road travel ialah di bahagian China. Tak sure sempat ke tak buat dlm masa 15 hari tapi pastinya kalau ikut silk road boleh elak altitude sickness, so boleh travel laju sikit.....except kat Karakoram highway tu sampai 5000m gak tu. Ko check apa option kenderaan yg ada then kena kira masa travel dari satu spot ke another....Urumqi mcm boleh skip (tak sure) n hari Ahad kena ada di Kashgar utk livestock market yg terkenal tu......selepas Kashgar kalau boleh jgn miss overnight kat Karakul Lake dlm yurt (khemah ala org Mongolia/central asian nomadic tu), then baru sambung ke Khunjerab Pass dan Hunza Valley. So, balik Malaysia from Islamabad?
betul kew skrg gov china gubal akta backpackers 2008?hehe mane 2 penegembara didapati back ...

takat baca dari tripadvisor mcm tu lah ceritanya......ada gak tips2 tanpa permit, tapi aku lupa jugak kat mana aku baca ni, kena elak jalan besar la...pasal kat jalan memang akan ada pos2 polis yg akan check penumpang keluar masuk. Selepas Lhasa, rasanya pos polis pertama kat Shigatse...kalau takda permit boleh buat2 bodoh kata tak tahu, then terserah pada polis tu nak lepas kita ke tak...
laluan sutera nie more to santai...padang ragut n gurun terbentang luas....kene bermalam kt urumqi @tidor kt tepi jalan hehe...sebab kene dptkan bas NATCO(northern area transport co)dr urumqi ke kashgar....stop kt kashgar bemalam n touring sehari,g livestock market..beli kambing gurun n wt BBQ kt tasik yg dekat dgn kashgar tu....i tringin nk trun smpi lahore laa...bleh singgah mkn capati kt jaipur@chandigarh...
weh...aku baca kat SPINN CAFE memang lagi gila lah....sampai dua permit nak g tibet ni,
1.Tibet Travel Permit (TTP)-utk masuk Tibet
2.Alien Travel Permit (ATP)-utk ronda2 Tibet beyond Lhasa
then lagi2 gila:-
How to enter Tibet?
You will need a Chinese visa first, then the new restriction is that all foreigners must get the Tibet Travel Permit (TTP), hire a tour guide and rent a land cruiser (if going out of Lhasa). The rule is strictly enforced now. Foreign tourists can choose two ways of transportation to go to Tibet, 1. Flying into Tibet. 2. Taking a train to Tibet. Theoretically you can rent a car from mainland China to Tibet, but there's a big transit area called Chamdo, where permit may not be issued, so overland from mainland China to Tibet is not possible at the moment. Foreigners are not allowed to take public buses outside Lhasa City.
What will the tour guide do? Is it like a North-Korean-styled trip in Tibet?
Hiring a tour guide is one of the requirements for getting the permits through a tour agency, you cannot get a permit if you don't hire a guide.
Some internet reviews claim that it's possible to go without tour guides, it's wrong! One review said that, "if your travel agent tells you (that you need a tour guide for everyday), get another travel agent." This is completely wrong. You will actually need tour guide for every single day in Tibet, no matter what you do! It's clearly written on the permit and PSB registration. If your tour agent tells you otherwise, they are breaking the rule to save your cost. But it should not be allowed or recommended.
You will have to hire a tour guide on every single day while you are in Tibet.
However, you are actually still free to wander around Lhasa by yourself without your tour guide, you can ask your guide to stay at the hotel and wait for you. But a tour guide is compulsory if you want to enter the Potala Palace, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. The tour agency will be fined if you were found without a tour guide inside these premises.
Several Taiwanese tourists wanted to enter Drepung Monastery without a tour guide and the tour agency which helped them to get the TTP permits were asked to pay a penalty of RMB 1000 (late April 2009). Please act responsibly.
You are okay to go to most other places in Lhasa without a tour guide, oh wait, does it mean that you have paid him for nothing? Yes, but that's the rule, ha, he'll actually give you back lots of freedom. Haha!
If you travel out of Lhasa, a tour guide is necessary to accompany you in the vehicle. Road checks will ask for the presence of your tour guide.
If I stay in Tibet for 10 days, should I hire the tour guide for every single day in Tibet?
Yes, unfortunately, however unfair it may seem, yes, you will need to hire a tour guide for every single day!
oh wow! nampaknya travel thru Tibet boleh jadi sangat2 mahal! kalau ramai boleh share2 bayar guide
Or boleh terus maju dari Lahore menyusur Grand Trunk Road yg bersejarah terus sampai Delhi, then boleh ambik AA dari sana (amboi kuatnya aku berangan, tah masa cukup ke tak )...lepas Lahore boleh singgah Wagah, gate sempadan Pakistan-India border yg ada closing caremony yg pelik tu tetiap petang..... --->
If you do a short Kailash itinerary (like lots of the less reputable agencies like to sell you) its likely you will struggle with altitude and find it rather hard. So......my recommendation is to allow plenty of days for acclimitisation (2/3 days in Lhasa and enjoy time in Gyantse etc etc on the way out) - visit Manasarovar (and stay the night there) before you head up to Darchen and start the Kora trek.
so...am right pasal kena buat pelan2 traveling thru Tibet tu, bagi masa utk body sesuaikan diri sehari dua setiapkali sampai satu2 tempat, (utk first day tiba kat Lhasa wajib stay 2-3 hari)....kalau nak rush2 memang azab siksa la badan.....
yg ni pulak description gambar dari travelblog kat sini :-
One the first day of a 6 day trip in the Hiace van from Lhasa to the Nepalese border
via Everest Base Camp.
6 hari tu perjalanan (termasuk overnight kat memana lah kot) + 3 hari utk sesuaikan diri di Lhasa = 9 hari. Masuk tempoh perjalanan train trip dari Chengdu-Xining-Lhasa, agak2 berapa lama tu? mungkin 11 or 12 hari kot? Then tinggal lagi 3 hari utk dimuatkan dgn schedule lain....
