slalu sangat kah banjir kat kl ? Setiap kali aku gi kl tak pernah banjir lah lagik, alhamdulillah .
Seriau jugak kalau tersangkut kat dalam banjir dengan jem segala ditambah pulak orang luar macam aku ni yang tak begitu kenal jalan2 kat kl nih sangat .
Orang kl kena beli hovercraft , senang sikit nak redah ayiaq banjir dan boleh jugak redah daratan sekaligus ... tak pun suggest kat najib flip flop untuk jadikan hovercraft sebagai pengangkutan awam kat kl , dari dok perabih duit beli kabin haprak buat apa kan .
Aku tak rasa boleh settle masaalah banjir kat kl, para pemimpin terlalu singkat akai untuk fikir solution terbaik untuk atasi masaalah nih , yang depa tau perabih duit negara aje masuk poket depa .
SUBANG JAYA: Residents of USJ 1's Avenue Condominium, woke up to an unusual sight of finding their cars submerged in murky waters in their basement parking lot.
The Sungai Penaga, which runs behind the condominium burst its banks causing flood waters to rush into the lower ground of the condominium.
According to residents who managed to save their vehicles, it took hardly 20 minutes for the flood waters to reach the rooftops of some cars.
For others who slept through the night, the floods cost them a fortune.
SUBMERGED: According to residents, it took just minutes for the flood waters to reach rooftops of cars
About 210 vehicles were badly damaged, resulting in an overall estimated loss of almost RM8 million.
To make matters worse, at press time, residents were told by the insurance company of the building that the cost for repairs will have to be borne individually by the car owners.
On the same floor, elevators were flooded waist-high when flood waters quickly rose during the heavy downpour on Wednesday night.
The residential Main Distribution Frame (MDF) room at the condominium also disrupted Internet connection to the entire building.
Residents were left fuming over the lack of security measures taken to alert residents of the rising waters.
A university student who chose to be known as Nisha said her Toyota Vios and Perodua Alza were damaged. They had to be towed away.
"My Vios floated two-feet away from where it was originally parked.
"Both my cars were left dead, their engines, radios, seats and documents all drenched. Someone must take responsibility for this," she said.
Retiree Manohary Rajagopal, 59, managed to save her car in the nick of time.
"My neighbour alerted me around midnight, but by the time I got down the flood waters had already reached waist level," she said.
She admitted that residents experienced floods but not to this extent.
"All car alarms were going off and I couldn't get a wink of sleep," she said. The fire and rescue department who came to the scene helped disable the alarms.
She hoped the authorities will find a solution to the flood problems.
IT worker Tengku Zulfadzil, 38, was surprised to find his Proton Waja and Gen 2, ruined.
"When I returned home at 8.30pm that night, my brother told me the lifts were down. I could not believe my eyes to find the basement completely flooded," he said.
He questioned the lack of security, calling for their Joint Management Body (JMB) to install a flood alarm to warn residents of the flood water levels
The JMB's secretary Danial Aliff said insurance adjusters inspected the damaged vehicles.
Meanwhile, Subang Jaya assemblyman Hannah Yeoh said the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (JPS) will conduct maintenence of the river and drains affected by the floods.
"The department will look into ways of increasing the river's capacity by making it wider and deeper," she said.
"The condominium's developer MCT Homes Sdn Bhd, will also apply to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) to redesign the retaining wall behind the condominium," she said.
Meanwhile, she said efforts are underway by the Petaling Land Office to arrange for a Natural Disaster Fund, to help those affected pay for towing services of their damaged vehicles.
