Hi all...
I just found this thread.
I'm wondering how to get jobs in goverment sector.
Quite hard to get it nowadays.
I had registered with SPA, sat for the exams, passed it but not even i ...
hiya idax...
well u did the right thing -
and what you have to do now is to keep checking
the website of SPA - prolly about twice a week -
to see if your name is selected -
the main key here is be patient - if you think there's
no reason for them to reject your application - then, sooner
or later they will call you for an interview -
in the meantime - try the private sectors or if you are working now
just keep doing that --
i hope the best for ya --- |

I had waited for almost 2 years now after my graduation. I'm working right now in the private sector. But I'm looking for a more secure job for future. Pension, medical benefits and stuff like that... |

there's no saying that private sector can't give you any of that -
granted that governent sound more secure -
but having been more than 2 years there - prolly you can
get promotion or venture another company that can offer
better salary with your experience --
however - i still hope the best for you --
just remember some people have waited 3-4 years before
SPA called them for an interview --
so be patience and in the meantime grab all the experience
you can --
all the best - |

If you want good medical benefits, you can always try looking for work at big companies... GLCs like UEM also offer a lot of benfits to their staff like medical, health insurance etc... Of course if you want pension, you have to work with the government...
One thing I would like to clarify is that SPA is not the only avenue for one to get a job with the government.... some government agencies and bodies will advertise vancancies in the newspaper so you can apply to them directly... Public universities also are part of government agencies so you can always apply to work there.... |

The pool is around us....
We dive into it every single second.
AIR.......
you do not need anything special.
You can free yourself no matter where you are. take a deep breathe, look up the sky, that is the depth of the pool |
