Belait is a small place. Senang cari. Mana2 pun ada restaurant or kedai kopi. Maybe u can try Seri Kandi Cafe Restaurant or Kate's Catering Restaurant. Or u can try C A Mohamad, ada byk cawangan nya. Worst come to worst ada a few fast food restaurant di Belait. Have a pleasant trip.

skrg ni kat kawasan Belait/Seria dah bnyk tmpt mkn...

kalo kat Belait...marla bleh cuba kat kawasan Pandan ...kat situ ada bnyk tmpt soping...

Seri Kandi Cafe not bad... CAM apa lagi..  Kate's catering tu memang nyaman tu Hawk western foodnya.. recommended...

Capers Restaurant

Capers Restaurant in Kiulap has been around for some time but on Monday night, to celebrate rugrat number 1's birthday, I finally went to try the joint with da missus and da rugrats. This of course was after having read several accounts of the place by Eleanor and Bulimic.

The restaurant itself is situated in Kiulap just above Jungle Gym. I've been to Le'Taj several times but never ventured beyond it where Capers is located. The place itself is quite spacious with a central pizza kitchen and drinks counter. There were some private booths on the side and a raised area similar to Le'Taj where you can sit facing the window.


Capers is currently having an all-you-can-eat promo at B$12.80 for adults and B$6.00 for kids. I think it ROCKS cos it covers all the pizza and pasta on the menu. We ordered a couple of pizzas to start with. The margherita for the kids and the seafood pizza for the grown-ups. For the pasta, we had:

Beef bacon penne with spicy barbecue sauce. This was a spicy dish with a nice kick. I liked it and so did da missus. Very original and tasty.


Beef-rib with fetuccini. I loved this dish. Very rustic and beefy sauce which left me wanting seconds heheh. And I did!


Lamb-shank penne. Da missus loved it but I found the lamb a little tasteless. But it was definitely melt-in-your-mouth tender


We also had the fetuccini carbonara, and the spaghetti bolognaise which are not pictured here. The carbonara was very rich and the rugrats liked it a lot. Same goes for the bolognaise which rugrat number 2 cannot resist! We had seconds for both!

Overall an excellent dining experience in a comfortable environment served by friendly staff very promptly. Like I said, for a nice pizza and pasta meal, come hungry, and you wont go wrong 4 out of 5.

Gerai Soto Haji Tuah - Tutong


Went to Tutong this morning to get my fix of Soto Hj Tuah. For those who don't know, Soto Hj Tuah is an institution among Tutongites and I do not know anyone from Tutong who hasn't had Soto Hj Tuah before.



Soto Hj Tuah has been around for as long as I can remember and it is famous not only for the unique flavour created by a combination of the soup, meat, noodles, "kuchai", and of course, the hot chili paste or "lada rindu" which can burn your tastebuds to oblivion if you're not careful!

I don't know if I have been there or not... but have heard memang soto Haji Tuah ani is very popular...the last time hom been to gerai di Tutong atu was years ago... masa atu hom was still a teenager..   my late father used to drop by that gerai near the bridge atu...he Loved soto and everytime we passed by that gerai surely we stopped and had soto..

Now I wonder...if that was the very same soto Haji Tuah... could be...coz..it was very nice and delicious..

Last nite after watching the TRANSFORMERS movie again at the Gadong Mall, my friend and I went to Sushi Tei Restaurant which is located just opposite the Gadong Centre Point...

When we enter the restaurant, there weren't many people yet...so we had the privilege of selecting our seat    it has a nice ambience...lots of seats and longer food train compared to those at the Xcapade sushi restaurant nearby..

For those who wish to have a special private function, upstairs they can provide tables for 4 person and also for 20 persons...

It only cost us $32.70, the price is much cheaper than at Xcapade..

A plate of Edamame - $2.00, Tofu steak (6 pcs of tofu) - $6.00, Shishamo Shioyaki (5 pcs) - $4.50, a Plate of Mixed tempura (8 pcs) - $8.80, a plate of California Maki (4 pcs) - $3.80, drinks - $3.80 each..

Food is not bad and service is also good...or may be coz we were the first customer that night??
