but then again, you can always improvise and upgrade.

Good points. Still, starting somewhere is better than not at all. Our scientist and engineers might not be No. 1 but they're not that bad. They can innovate.

JP blog is a parody of the current MY military procurement & defence industry. For umpteenth times, we see how MAF were shortchanged in terms of quality equipments for the RM that ended up in the pockets of middlemen.
This is a cancer that eroded the taxpayer's view. Given we cannot do much to change the situation, we can only lament the worsening situation in this public forum, or set up the JP Inc.
Rather than developed our own R&D n wasted millions, why not we become middlemen & pocketed billions!

I don't think we only need to buy the best when basic weapons of the same category also we don't have. We don't have enough money to buy expensive one only.. be realistic lah.. Buy quality ones at low quantity is almost meaningless... we are not covering enough... China products are rather competitive and can get our money worths.. we need to cover all important areas in Malaysia, so buy some good ones and complement the others with cheaper ones i.e. from China etc.. |

Also, the Chinese did offer Tot on the FN-6..well, its a small stepping stone for us, but still a stepping stone..so hopefully our own scientists and engineers wont waste this opputurnity |
