My fever is getting worst. I also couldn't sleep well last night. I skipped my class this morning and asked a friend to sign the attendance for me.  See, I was skipping my 1st lecture, never done that before. Normally I have high spirit to attend the 1st class in the new trimester but not in my final semester

sometimes i'm really nervous and afraid to look into their eyes..hehe..like what i did during my 1st interview last week. the interviewer check my test paper while look at me and smiling..when he look at me, i look at the window..hehe...i know many of my answers are wrong..because before the interview i didnt prepare anything. i didn't expect they will give a test before the interview session..they asked about php, asp, sql and also c++..can you imagine i never touch the c++ for almost 4 years after finished my diploma...the company is the malay company, so most of the questions are asked in malay... but fortunately i attended the interview with one of my friend..and alhamdullillah both of us got the job..

p/s i always confuse when we should use i am, i was, and when we should was+past tense eg, was came or we don't need the was to describe the past tense..eg he came, or he was came..can anyone help me?

senah... i got the same problem as you.. sometime i feel so sad. because i dont know how to improve my english.. i try to read a lot of english book, paper and watch movie with english subtitle... but i donnu either my english is improve or not..

try maybe at lowyat forum??? u know wut.. from there u also can learn how to flame ppl..hahaha.. flaming each other in lowyat forum.. can improve ur english and might turn u become more cunning than before..hahahaa..

this thread is really interesting. i'm trying to sharpening my language skill. the problem is i can write but hardly spoke the language. it's quite bad actually because in the class i have to do the presentation in english and since i couldn't speak really well (plus nervous and not to mention bad eye contact), my presentation goes wrong. what i had in mind didn't come out when i spoke...(sigh),,,any suggestion for my problem?

i think this problem is very normal -
malaysian can write quite well - but when it comes
to speak the language - it goes haywire -
mostly cuz of lack of confidence and unsure about the grammar
and the tenses  -

one thing i can advise you to improve the skill in verbally - is by
speaking the language as often as you can -
and visit this thread and write whats in your mind -
dun worry about the grammar at first --  tell us whats in your mind
whats your capabilities etc etc....

by practising - you gonna improve in no time -

read reader's digest  as often as you can -

and i have tactic too to skip the weekly presentation!

whenever i'm not ready for the presentation, i wore the red blusher on my cheeks. red blusher makes me look like 'i had a bad fever!'...and it works!

rule in making a sentence in english -
TRY to make as short sentence / simple sentence as you can...
your composition might be long - 400 words or so, but the sentences
should be shorter and simple.

u use - i am when u wanna talk about everyday event and present
event -
for instance: i am very hungry right now i can eat 5 horses

u use - i was when u wanna talk about past event - things that happened
already -
for instance: last monday, i was so tired i fell asleep in the class

u cannot use  - was came
the verb cant be both past tense -

for instance: he was visiting his parents during hari raya holiday

u can also said:
he visited his parents last week

try to use as simple english as you can...

u made such a great effort and i appreciate it senah -
and should u have more questions - do not hesitate to
reply in here -

i am sure few other forumers will lend a hand too --
