summary panjang

Chapter 2 opens up with Kingone and mystery guy at the section of the hospital where babies are resting.
Mystery guy asks Kingone which one of the babies is his (Kingone's) after pointing to his own baby. Kingone points to his arm and says "car accident."
They have a discussion about babies; Kingone says that he hopes that every baby born has a loving family just like mystery guy.

Kingone then brings up Rainie when he tells mystery guy that his baby's birthday is the same as Rainie's. Mystery guy says, oh I don't know the deal with horoscopes and stuff so can you tell me what kind of girl she (Rainie) is?
Kingone then says, I'm not too close to her but I can tell that she is courageous, fun, and cute.

Rainie opens up the paper that Xiao Nan gave her with Kingone's number on it and tries to contact him but just as she is about to call him, Kingone checks his phone for any msgs from Rainie and finds 13 prank messages. He is upset about this prank and changes his phone number. Rainie on the other end can no longer reach him due to his phone number change.

The uncle, desparate for money, breaks a glass bottle on his head and then lies to Rainie's mother about how the loan sharks will beat him to death if she does not give him money. The mother is tired of his lies and slams the door in his face. Just so happens that Rainie comes home and sends her uncle to the hospital.

Rainie helps her mom setup their peddling business and is ready to go off to school when their neighbor stops by to buy some fruit. She tells the mom how she saw the uncle break a glass bottle on his head. Rainie hears this and is upset.

Yan Shu and Kingone discuss business matters and Mike interrupts. Mike suggests that Yan Shu and him go outside. Yan Shu tells him to go play by himself since they still have business to do. Kingone then tells him that there are toys for five year olds in the hospital and that Mike would enjoy it. Mike is getting increasingly upset. Kingone says that there is also an ice cream stand downstairs and Mike snaps at him by asking whether or not little Kingone liked vanilla flavored ice cream. Yan Shu speaks to him as if he's a little kid and then Kingone takes a step back and tells Yan Shu to accompany Mike. Yan Shu will do it only if Kingone goes too. Mike at this point is pretty pissed so he just wheels away.

Rainie tells her uncle to stop playing games and to discharge from the hospital because it is extremely costly. He refuses. He says that the doctor needs him to stay there longer so they can do a better check-up. Mike happens to see this and tells Rainie off. He says that she is a very ill-mannered and has no respect for elders. And that money cannot buy everything, especially not family love.

Mike's friend sees Rainie walk off and makes a comment of how similar Mike and Rainie are. (Both evil~)

Xiao Nan is surfing the web when she sees a webpage with Kingone's number on it. She then realizes that when she shouted out his number that day in class, someone wrote it down and made it into a prank. She hurredly tries to find Rainie to tell her about this.

Rainie goes back to her uncle's hospital room and they discuss the whole money issue and how it was stupid of uncle to lie to them by hurting himself. Uncle begs her that all he needs is $600,000 for this product that will become a success. Rainie tells him that there is no way she has that much money. Uncle retells the story of how Rainie's dad left them nothing but a handful of loans that have not been paid and one day, when there were a bunch of angry loan sharks, uncle was the one who protected them. The uncle persuaded the mother to sell their house so that they can use the money to pay off the loans but it turns out that the uncle secretly took the money to invest in stocks so they can have some money left over after paying off the loans. It did not end up the way he thought it would so they ended up with no house, no loans paid - and Rainie's mom now sees him as a cheat. He begs for her forgiveness and also continues to beg for any amount of money that Rainie can give him.

Rainie then thinks of Kingone once again and tries to call him but gets his message box.

Outside the hospital, Mike's friend is chattering away about how good he looks in the jacket that Mike has given him. He finds the coupon that Rainie had given Mike the day of the fair. Mike looks at it but Yan Shu comes to take him to the doctor for his x-ray analysis. The doctor says that even though Mike's legs are healing, the right leg is more damaged so even when the cast is removed, he may not return to the way it used to- thus unable to participate in motorcycle races. Mike is very upset about this because his dream was being taken away from him.

Rainie bumps into Kingone in the baby section again and says the same thing Kingone says that day. (how he hopes that every baby has a warm loving family)
Kingone crushes her hopeful face by venting out his feelings towards the prank and the whole 10th guy nonsense.

Mike and Kingone are getting ready to be discharged and Mike refuses to leave the hospital. He cries by himself.

Xiao Nan explains to Rainie about how Kingone's phone number is posted on the web and that Kingone has misunderstood the entire situation. They try to find him and Rainie ends up chasing after his car and falling. Yan Shu tells Kingone to ignore the girl because she thinks Rainie is weird. Kingone replies to her by saying that perhaps it's because she's weird that his curiousity has gotten the better of him. He stops the car and tries to find out why Rainie is chasing after him. He tells her that he can't hold her up because of his casts nor can he wipe away her tears. He then asks her why she was chasing after his car.

Rainie has a hard time explaining everything so she is frustrating curious Kingone. But after she does explain it, she holds up a coupon from the fair. Kingone calls her weird and they both laugh.

Mike's friend is wheeling Mike around when they see Rainie and the uncle fighting about the money issue again. Mike takes this time to redeem the service from the coupon of the fair. Rainie refuses at first and says that there is an expiration date on it but Mike says that I will report you as fraud and being in the hospital- how could i have redeemed it? Rainie then gives in.

The cops are telling all the peddlers to leave so Rainie and her mother are running for safety. The mother is saying how tired she is from doing this several times a day. She then talks about why she had to give Rainie's brother money to see the concert because everyone will be upset if she doesn't and she just can't tolerate it. Rainie is contemplating how to ask her mother for money because her cellphone has been at the repair shop for several days and she doesn't have enough money to pay for the repair. A neighbor comes to give a invitation to their daughter's wedding ceremony and Rainie's mother is upset because an invitation like that equals more money.

When they get home, one of the neighbors who had lent Rainie's mom money tries to ask for them to pay it back because her son needs the money to buy a new house. Rainie lies and says that her mother is not home so the neighbor gives Rainie the dimsum and leaves.

Rainie is making calculations of how much money they need to pay everything off. She encourages herself to keep her head up.

After class, Rainie is selling her notes when Xiao Nan demands to find out who put the phone number online. She is ready to kill the person who did it. Rainie drags her outside and tells her to not make such a big deal out of it. Xiao Nan talks about how lucky Rainie is to have gotten the heart of Kingone and talks about the day at the hospital. She states that Rainie had not picked her cellphone up from the shop. Rainie tries to explain when Xiao Nan says "I already got it for you." Rainie tries to pay her back but Xiao Nan says that she is too fussy and that she can just give her 5 lunch boxes.

Rainie's phone rings and Mike tells her that he is her master and orders her to get to his house immediately.
Xiao Nan then tells Rainie what to do if Mike wants to take advantage of her. They use a large mannequin to practice on. At first, Rainie almost gives in to Mike's "kiss" and then Xiao Nan tells her to wake up or else it's over for Rainie. They try again and Rainie successfully beats the mannequin's face in.

Once Rainie gets to Mike's house, she tries to lay down the rules but Mike beats her to it. Mike tells her that she is not allowed to touch him in any way, especially since he is paralyzed. They also lay down that there is no way that they could ever like each other. Rainie leaves and Mike, after realizing he just let her leave, calls her back.

Rainie asks Mike to work around her schedule because she needs to go to class and go to work. Mike refuses. He tells her that she better come on time everyday for the entire week. And to cut the pitiful look because he does not give a flying poop about the everyday average girl.

He tells her that she is to do all the housework. From cleaning windows, to wiping the floor... etc. He says that there must not be one speck of dust and that all garbage must be disposed. Rainie retorts that she must first dispose of him because he is the biggest garbage in the entire house.

He then gives her an entire laundry basket and tells her to handwash everything because even if there was a washing machine, she is not allowed to use it! Rainie picks out his boxers and asks... even this? Mike is immediately embarrassed and snatches the basket away from her. He tells her that she does not need to wash it and that everyday, he will just buy new underwear. Rainie yells at him not being environmentally friendly and to just let her wash it.

After Rainie falls into him, Mike makes fun of her beauty mark and that she doesn't take care of her face. He then asks her if she is really a girl because she has no body. She asks why he is even looking at her and Mike refers back to the rule of how she is not allowed to touch him at all.
"Big pervert girl!"
When Rainie kicks him, he shouts, "how dare you pick on me! you are dead meat!"

He then throws chips all over the floor and tells her to wash the floor, scrub it and wipe it clean. Rainie retaliates by saying that he is very wasteful and she refuses to be under his control. Mike basically tells her too bad and that this is a fun game with rules of 1) crush you 2) control you 3) pick on you. She says that she will retaliate and dreams of beating up Mike with her broom. Xiao Nan calls Rainie to check up on her and tells her that she is heading over to Kingone's office so that she can talk to him.

Yan Shu prepares a surprise party for Kingone as he is ready to be discharged from the hospital. But Kingone does not show up and tells her that he is grabbing food outside. He tells her that he doesn't like surprise parties and expects that there isn't any. Xiao Nan is trying to see Kingone but Yan Shu refuses to let her in. The superviser also has orders from Yan Shu/Kingone (but it's not kingone's orders) that Rainie and Xiao Nan are not allowed to work for the company anymore.

Yan Shu is eating noodles back to back of Kingone and is thinking aloud to herself. Kingone overhears her conversation with Rainie and he goes off to their family supermarket to meet her.

Rainie's brother makes up a lie to get money from his mother. He tells her that one of his co-workers' mom's got into a serious car accident and they have no money for surgery so the co-worker has to sell her body for money and that everyone in his company is donating money to them. Rainie's mom asks him if they asked him to donate and the brother says he avoided it. The brother gets a phone call and he tells his mom that he is now going to stop the coworker from selling her body. The mother feels bad and calls him back to give him all the money she earned for the day.

Rainie's mom's friend comes to Taipei so she accompanies her to go shopping at a mall. She says how it's sad to just window shop.

While Rainie is cleaning the floor, she finds a penny and gives it to Mike. Mike tells her that he doesn't use change so whatever she finds is hers. She is so thrilled about this that she now diligently cleaning the house. Each time she finds money, she is whooping for joy. Mike states that she is so happy over a few pieces of change and she says of course~ it's a sign from god! "A sign that by working hard, you will definitely get something in return- awesome huh?" Mike tells her that it is a very retarded sign.

Rainie counts up how much she has found- 55 bucks! She is contemplating whether or not what Mike said earlier about letting her keep all the change was for real so she asks him again. Mike complains of hunger and orders Rainie to cook for him, however, there is nothing in the fridge for her to cook so she tells him that she needs to go out and buy food. She is trying to use this excuse so that she can stop Xiao Nan from saying too much to Kingone. He tells her that he will not fall for her trick and plans to order pizza instead.

Mike's friend comes by and picks up all the clothes that Mike had thrown outside. He makes a comment that Mike needs to give it a wash and gives the laundry basket to Rainie. Mike stops her from getting the basket and says how they are now going food-shopping. Rainie asks if they are going to his family's supermarket and Mike responds saying no duh. Mike's friend offers to carry Mike down the stairs but Mike wants Rainie to do it instead.

At the supermarket, Mike picks up a pair of underwear that does not require any washing. Rainie then yells at him for again, not being environmentally friendly and being a big waste. She says that if it's embarrassing for her to be washing his boxers, he should do it himself. Mike responds by saying that he is the master and not her so whatever he says goes.

As Mike is crying in solitude, Raine runs toward his hospital room to find Kingone. Raine misses Kingone by seconds and finds Mike crying. Raine makes funny faces to cheer Mike up, and Mike winds up telling her his aspirations of becoming a motorcycle champion to impress his childhood love Yan Shu. There's a flashback to young Mike and Yan Shu riding away on Mike's bike to avoid the upperclassmen bullies.

Meanwhile, Kingone and Yan Shu are leaving the hospital, and Kingone (who may have caught a glimpse of Raine running to his room as he was leaving) wonders if they should go back to comfort Mike, but Yan Shu dissuades him.

Raine and Mike get into an argument over who is crazier, and this results in Mike calling for the nurse to kick Raine out of the room. As the nurse arrives, Raine suddenly remembers the reason for her visit: Kingone and finds out that he had been discharged. Dejected, Raine leaves the hospital, but spots Kingone's car as it pulls away and starts chasing after it.
