Japanese Grand Prix postponed after earthquake
Organisers of April’s Japanese MotoGP race have announced that the event has been postponed following the country’s natural disaster on Friday, with an earthquake and subsequent tsunami having caused devastation in much of the country.
The race was schedule to be Round 3 of 2011 and the postponement is the second consecutive such happening for Japan, with last year’s race having been pushed back towards the end of the campaign due to the Icelandic ash cloud which prevented air travel across the majority of Europe.
It is possible the Motegi event will now be staged on 2 October, a fortnight either side of the Aragón and Australian Grands Prix. |
