Korean band, FT Island, aims to be L乫Arc乣en乣Ciel
Korean band, FT Island, held their 亀Prologue of FTIsland -soyogi-亁Japan debut album commemorative live showcase at the Liquid Room at Ebisu, Tokyo on 6th. Just before the event, there was a press conference. The members told us that they went to observe L乫Arc乣en乣Ciel's live performance and noticed how they sang with deep emotions. They aim to be like them and also to be Japan's Monster Band.
Debuted in Korea last June, the band received several music awards in the same year. Though they had spent some time here in Japan learning Japanese language, they worked very hard in order to communicate with the emcee during the press conference. "Please pardon us", as vocalist, Lee Hongki said with an innocent expression. The atmosphere was very good during the press conference.
Hongki wore a cute mask and showed the mischeivous side of him during the press conference. He even tried answering questions asked by the emcee in Japanese. On the other hand, vocal & guitarist, Oh Wonbin, said that he felt pressurized during the interview session.
The members also knew a few famous Japanese bands and even mentioned their names during the interview. It showed how concerned they are with the Japanese music industry. Bass, Lee Jaejin, said that after watching L乫Arc乣en乣Ciel's performance, they got totally influenced by their music and they aim to go further.
There was a live showcase on the same day following the press conference. 7th June marks their debut 1st year anniversary as well as their first debut in Japan. A Premium Party will be held at one of the pubs today. Furthermore, starting from 20th June (Fri), the band will also have a livehouse tour in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Kanagawa respectively.

FT Island obtained No. 1 in Japan's Tower Records World Weekly Chart
FT Island rose to No. 1 in Japan Tower Records World Weekly Chart.
FT Island's new released mini album "Prologue of FTIsland -soyogi-" which was released on 7th this month, obtained No. 1 in the world section weekly ranking chart. They also got first in the Best Seller Chart.
It is not common for bands to obtain such result by just releasing an album without having any full scale promotion.
They also had an in-store live event at Shibuya's Tower Records on the 9th and they attracted a lot of attention from the public.
Participants of this event commented that the members received lots of support by having their first in-store live performance at the famous Tower Record.
