Zinedine Zidane, football legend and recently appointed advisor at the Bernabeu, has revealed that Real Madrid are still hoping to secure the services of France international Franck Ribery next term.

Zidane has been a long-standing admirer of the current Bayern Munich playmaker and, with a seemingly endless bankroll available to the La Liga outfit, hopes that he will soon be able to welcome him to the Spanish capital.

Some might have thought that, after having signed Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, Madrid's attacking positions were covered, but Zidane feels that Florentino Perez would be wise to snap at any chance to sign Ribery.

"We really hope that he will sign," Zidane told RMC radio.

"It would be superb news for the club.

"If he was to come over to Madrid I would be delighted to welcome him."

Uli Hoeness has stated in the past that Ribery is staying with the Bavarians, and would only be dislodged from his position at the club should a 'crazy' bid be put forward.

However, with Real Madrid already having broken the transfer record this year, an impressive bid for the Frenchman may not be completely out of the question.
