Setanta Sports: Reds launch midfielder bid

Liverpool are reported to have launched a £16.3million bid for the Bologna midfielder Gaston Ramirez.

Reds boss Kenny Dalglish will once again be backed in the transfer market and a new midfielder is high on his wanted list despite signing Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson last summer.

Ramirez is being targeted by a number of Europe's top clubs but it looks as though Liverpool have stolen a march on their rivals by making an offer for the 21-year-old.

The player's agent Pablo Bentancur has confirmed an offer has been made but has refused to identify the club, despite reports claiming it has come from Liverpool.

"Bologna have received an offer near to 20million euros from an important club in the Premier League," he revealed. "Bologna will decide at the end of the season what they are going to do."

The Uruguayan has impressed in a struggling side this season when scoring six goals and Dalglish wants him at Anfield next season.

Semangat Liverpool melonjak

SENTUHAN BERBISA... Suarez menjadi aset berharga Liverpool pada kempen musim ini.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- AFP

Liverpool Scout Ligue 1 Trio as Kenny Dalglish Plans French Spend Over ‘Buying British’

Anfield side look to France for new additions.

Liverpool have joined the list of clubs showing interest in Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud.

Manager Kenny Dalglish and assistant Steve Clarke watched Montpellier’s 1-0 victory at Toulouse on Friday night and were joined in the stands by Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi and Bayern Munich’s general manager Christian Nerlinger.

Although there were other players on show that have attracted Liverpool’s interest in the past year, including Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko and Montpellier captain and defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, it is understood Giroud was the focus of Dalglish’s attention.

It appears that Ligue 1 has become the go-to place for many Premier League scouting missions with Sir Alex Ferguson, Alan Pardew and Arsene Wenger all taking a trip to France to scout possible new talents they wish to bring in. Kenny Dalglish has joined that throng and may feel that he can get more bang for his buck shopping abroad rather than looking to bring in further signings from within the Premier League.

Given the sums that were forked out for the likes of Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll, somewhere in the region of £75m, you can hardly blame Dalglish for looking for a foreign purchase instead of paying over the odds for fairly average talent.

Of the three players mentioned perhaps the most eye-catching comes in the form of forward Olivier Giroud who has been in outstanding form for Montpellier this term, notching up 20 goals in Ligue 1 action this season, making him the top scorer in France. His form looks likely to help his side to their first ever domestic title.

Dalglish may see Moussa Sissoko as an ideal man to add further steel to a midfield that currently has to rely on Brazilian Lucas as their sole effective defensive midfielder, something of an issue this term after he was sidelined for much of the campaign.

Liverpool Complete £8m Signing of Goal-Scoring Midfielder Rasmus Elm: Swedish International to Make Anfield Move

Liverpool have reportedly agreed an £8 million deal to sign Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm from Dutch side AZ Alkmaar.

The 24 year old has scored 10 goals in his last 17 games for the Eredivisie club this season, convincing Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish to make a move. It is reported that Elm will move to Anfield on a five-year contract worth a £40,000 a week.

The Reds manager even made a trip to Holland to watch Elm play against Feyenoord on Sunday. However, Dalglish was left disappointed since the player was absent as his wife went into labour but that did not affect the deal going through.

If this source is to be believed then Liverpool may well have done a good bit of business here. Rasmus Elm is a talented attack minded midfielder who could add more of a goal-threat for the Anfield side than the players Kenny Dalglish currently has on hand in his position.

The 24 year old Swedish international has had an excellent season at AZ Alkmaar and has been tracked by a number of Premier League sides in recent months. The former Kalmar man is a set piece specialist and has a few tricks and turns up his sleeve and is able to beat his man and could be seen as the ‘Gerrard-esque’ player that Liverpool have yet to see Charlie Adam evolve into.

£8m for Elm seems more than a fair price, especially when you take into account the large sums spent on the likes of Jordan Henderson.

LFC's Top 20 PL appearances: No.20

No.20: STIG INGE BJORNEBYE (139 appearances)

Graeme Souness signed Bjornebye after he scored the winning goal in a Norwegian Cup final in 1992. The full-back's Anfield career hit peak form during 1996-97, a season in which he raced down the flanks to deliver pin-point passes and provide plenty of goals for Fowler and Collymore.

No.19: XABI ALONSO (143 appearances)

The Spaniard scored arguably one of the most important goals in Liverpool's history, at the second time of asking, on May 25, 2005. The sight of him being mobbed by ecstatic teammates on the turf of the Ataturk Stadium is one of the enduring images of a night that conjured so many. Alonso exuded class and elegance during the five years he spent on Merseyside. It was a period of time during which the No.14's ability to pick out a pass was second to none.

No.18: STEVE FINNAN (145 appearances)

Steve Finnan joined Anfield in 2003 and over the coming years, he established himself as a fan favourite due to his dependable characteristics in the full-back role. The man from Limerick is the only player to have played in the World Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Cup, Intertoto Cup, all four levels of the English league football and the Football Conference.

No.17: PATRIK BERGER (148 appearances)

Berger will always be remembered for his explosive long range shooting and the man who provided the pass for Michael Owen's winner in the 2001 FA Cup final against Arsenal. He scored twice on his first Liverpool start against Chelsea and was voted Player of the Month at the end of his first month with the club in 1996.

No.16: EMILE HESKEY (150 appearances)

Emile Ivanhoe Heskey made his Premier League debut as a 17-year-old for Leicester City against QPR in March 1995 and was Liverpool's record signing when Gerard Houllier signed him in 2000. A towering header against AS Roma at Anfield was one of the most memorable strikes from an Anfield career that saw him hit the back of the net on 60 occasions.

No.15: ROB JONES (155 appearances)

Jones was a Red from childhood and his grandfather, Bill Jones, had been on Liverpool's books from 1946-54, playing 277 games. One of Liverpool's most exciting full-backs for years, Jones was skilful and quick. Only injury prevented him from playing many more games in the Premier League.

No.14: JOHN BARNES (162 appearances)

An awesome blend of strength and skill, Barnes ensured that between at the back end of the 1980s, a front row seat in the Kemlyn Road or Paddock was one of the hottest tickets in town.  Not many sights in world football have been finer than John Barnes, in his pomp, gliding down the wing. His Premier League years oversaw a transition into central midfield and a role as club captain for a year in 1996.

No.13: DANNY MURPHY (170 appearances)

Three winning goals from Danny Murphy brought infinite joy to Liverpool fans and at the same time made him the scourge of Old Trafford. The Chester-born, attacking midfielder will forever be cherished among Reds fans for the trio of strikes at the home of Liverpool's rivals which each resulted in memorable 1-0 victories. Murphy netted 44 goals in all during his time at Anfield.

No.12: DIETMAR HAMANN (191 appearances)

Hamann arrived at Anfield from Newcastle in 1999 and instantly fell in love with Liverpool the club, the city and its people. It was a mutual affection that was so brilliantly illustrated in his autobiography 'The Didi Man: A Love Affair with Liverpool'. During six years with the Reds, the talented holding midfielder became as famed for his style and composure on the pitch as for his wit and character off it.

No.11: DIRK KUYT (205 appearances)

Kuyt's work-rate and dedication to the Liverpool cause has marked him out as a crucial and dependable part of the Anfield set-up, since his arrival from Feyenoord in 2007. The striker clinched his 50th Premier League Liverpool goal during the Reds' 3-0 win at Molineux earlier this year. He came off the bench at Wembley this year to score a crucial goal before stepping up to slot home from 12-yards in the shoot-out.

No.10: DAVID JAMES (214 appearances)

Graeme Souness brought this bright young talent to Anfield from Watford in July 1992 and he made his Liverpool debut in August 1992 in a 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest. James started in Liverpool's victorious League Cup final against Bolton in 1995, but was on the losing side as the Reds were defeated by Man United in the FA Cup final the following season.

No.9: MICHAEL OWEN (216 appearances)

Regardless of the fact the forward trains at Carrington nowadays, rather than with the club he made his professional debut for aged 17, Owen's class is undeniable. He remains the only Liverpool player to have been voted the best player in Europe and is one of 11 players who have scored more than 100 league goals for the club - a feat he achieved in 185 games.

No.8: JAMIE REDKNAPP (231 appearances)

Despite his Liverpool career being hampered by injury problems, Redknapp will be remembered as one of the most popular players to ever serve the club. Kenny Dalglish's last major signing as manager in January 1991, Redknapp began his career under the watchful eye of father Harry at AFC Bournemouth. During an Anfield career spanning 11 years, the central midfielder from Barton-On-Sea scored 41 goals.

No.7: JOHN ARNE RIISE (234 appearances)

Three months after joining Gerard Houllier's side from AS Monaco, the Norwegian sent Anfield into delirium when he hammered a swerving 30-yard strike past Fabian Barthez to give the Reds a 2-0 lead over Manchester united. It was such a fine effort, the goal was duly commemorated with a chant of its own that would ring loudly and proudly around football stadiums for years to come.

No.6: STEVE MCMANAMAN (240 appearances)

Scorer of goals that ranged from slaloming solo efforts to stunning, swerving volleys, McManaman's most famous performance came in the 1995 Coca Cola Cup final at Wembley when he netted two fantastic goals in a 2-1 win over Bolton - but Liverpool fans saw him play like that countless times week in, week out.

No.5: PEPE REINA (253 appearances)

Should Jamie Carragher or Steven Gerrard both be unavailable for selection, the man from Madrid is the one to whom the Liverpool captaincy is bestowed. And it's a role he assumes with all the pride and purpose of a life-long Red whose childhood dream was to pull on the armband. Reina understands the club as well as most. Kopites will be praying for another 253 appearances between the sticks.

No.4: ROBBIE FOWLER (266 appearances)

What Fowler lacked in pace and height, he made up for with an uncanny ability to sniff out goals. Close-range tap-ins or 25-yard super strikes, he was wonderfully adept at both. 'God' scored 183 goals for Liverpool, a tally which he added to outside Anfield and one which leaves him sitting fourth on the list of all-time Premier League scorers.

No.3: SAMI HYYPIA (318 appearances)

History will undoubtedly judge Hyypia to be not only one of the club's shrewdest pieces of business but one of the finest centre-backs ever to wear a red shirt. Full of poise and composure, Hyypia was not merely a defensive stalwart; he was a scorer of crucial goals for the club.

No.2: STEVEN GERRARD (405 appearances)

Gerrard marked his 400th Premier League appearance for the club by demolishing Everton with an historic hat-trick in March 2012. Some would argue the Huyton-born hero is the greatest player to ever pull on the red shirt. Some would go further. In the words of Arsenal legend Thierry Henry, 'Gerrard will be regarded as one of the greatest midfielders ever when he finishes his career. No doubt. He, for me, is Liverpool.'

No.1: JAMIE CARRAGHER (482 appearances)

Carragher has kept out the cream of England's attacking elite since 1997 with awe-inspiring resolve and dedication to the Reds' cause. An encyclopaedic knowledge of the game, coupled with innate pride for the city of Liverpool and its team, means Carra will most likely be a permanent feature at Anfield long after he decides to hang up his boots.

Daily Mail: Reds plan double Dutch raid

iverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is planning a £20million double swoop on the Eredivisie by trying to bring Luuk de Jong and Rasmus Elm to Anfield.

The Reds have been told they will have to pay at least £12.5million if they are serious about signing Holland and FC Twente striker De Jong.

The 21-year-old has caught the eye of scouts from a number of major clubs by scoring 23 times in 29 league matches this term.

Liverpool are among the sides monitoring his progress, as Kenny Dalglish searches for a prolific goalscorer to play alongside Luis Suarez.

De Jong fits the profile of young player the Reds are keen to bring in and, with Dalglish set to be handed a £20m transfer kitty for the summer, they could afford to match Twente's valuation.

And Kop boss Dalglish was in Holland on Sunday to watch another target - £8m-rated AZ Alkmaar midfielder Elm.

The Swede, 24, was identified as a potential signing by Liverpool's axed director of football Damien Comolli but there is also interest from Spain and Italy.

Redknapp hopes Suarez stays with Liverpool

Former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp hopes Luis Suarez stays at Anfield.

Redknapp wrote in the Daily Mail: "Luis Suarez has had a rollercoaster season, but he is a magnificent player. His first Liverpool hat-trick included a wonder goal from just inside the Norwich half when his execution was sensational. I hope he stays in England, because he would be a great loss to our league.

"Suarez is going into the FA Cup final next weekend in top form and I reckon he could be the difference against Chelsea."

analilis dari pengkritik tak bertauliah dari aku yg tak sengaja tertengok game semalam..

starting 11: haram jadah punya KD.. kot ye pun nak prepare utk final F.A , pekejadahnye rombak besar2 kesebelasan utama..  yg dikekalkan hanya agger dan jonjo.. lain semua tukar.. abih sapa jadi leader tengah padang?? bodo piang kenny .. main kat anfield plak tu.. hak tui bodo.!..kot ye pun nak rombak..2nd half tu ganti la player..nih yg amsuk 2nd hlaf tu downing je. pui punya kenny.. tu la buat line up ngarut..dah tak reti nak repair..

line up : tu dia.. main 4,5,1 kat anfield!! bangang kali kedua utk konon2 king.. 4 defense.. blakang.. tuh dia...KK bubuh Kelly ganti Johnson..Aurelio ganti enrique.. wahahaha.. aku lagi prefer flanagan dari aurelio nih.. lama lama main..dah nampak macam 5,4,1 plak sebab coates dah macam 3rd centre back plak walaupun dia diberi main midfield.. nampqak sangat KK buat experimental dan tak bersungguh2 nak menang di laman sendiri..

kalau preparation FA final cam gini la.. kalau kalah jugak xtau la.. xde lagi alasan penat dari KK sebab sampai keeper2 skali direhatkan.. x guna betul..rugi abih point fantasy football aku..

aku bajet chelsea pun xkan rehatkan sampai 3/4 first team sebab diorang nak lawan kota bharu kat tempat sendiri.. xkan nak bagi fan mengarut buat line up pelik pelik seperti masukkan lukaku dan bagi abdul razak main kot?

Liverpool vs Fulham Player Ratings
Liverpool's poor home form continued as Fulham recorded their first victory at Anfield with a 1-0 win in the Barclays Premier League on Tuesday.

The Cottagers got off to a fairly bright start and found the back of the net in the fifth minute when a John Arne Riise cross bounced off both Alexander Kacaniklic and Martin Skrtel, before finding its way into the back of the net.

Jonjo Shelvey had a good chance to equalise for Kenny Dalglish's side two minutes before the half-hour mark when he fired a shot that squirmed under Mark Schwarzer, only to see Brede Hangeland clear it off the line.

Andy Carroll toiled manfully for the hosts all evening long but was ultimately unable to find the breakthrough, as the Cottagers held on for an impressive win.

Here, ESPNSTAR.com takes a look at the players that took to the field at Anfield.

Liverpool
Alexander Doni  - 7.5

After getting sent off in his first league game of the season against Blackburn, the Brazilian must have been bemoaning his misfortune when he saw the ball fly past him off Skrtel after only just five minutes.
However, he recovered well and pulled off a magnificent save in the second half when he denied Clint Dempsey by diving low to his left to keep out the American's fiercely-hit effort.

Martin Kelly - 6.5
Kelly was kept busy all day long by the marauding runs of Riise and did let his man go a couple of times early on, although he recovered later on and put his strength to good use on a number of occasions.
The England U-21 regular showed good initiative to push forward but left a lot to be desired with his crossing.

Martin Skrtel - 7
There was little Skrtel could do when the ball bounced off Frei and into his back, before making its way into the back of the net past a bewildered Doni.
Apart from that, the Reds stand-in skipper did reasonably well and defended with the same grit he displays on a weekly basis.

Sebastian Coates - 7
An impressive showing from the young Uruguayan, although he tried to get too cute on several occasions when playing the ball out of defence.

Fabio Aurelio (off 66') - 6.5
A tough one to call really, considering Aurelio did defend considerably well against Damien Duff. However, he failed to offer the hosts the same energy Jose Enrique normally does, and looked content to float crosses into the box from way out.

Jordan Henderson (off 46') - 4
A woeful display from the ex-Sunderland star, who offered Liverpool nothing going forward or backwards. Henderson was sloppy with his distribution and was often bullied into giving up possession by Fulham's bigger-bodied midfielders.

Jay Spearing - 6
Spearing did give the ball away cheaply on a couple of occasions in the first half, but you have to admire the way he goes about his business.
He kept demanding the ball from his team-mates, and seemed to take it upon himself to carve out openings for his side, even when he probably knows he's not the most creative of passers.

Jonjo Shelvey - 5
The one thing Shelvey did well on the night was his ability to run into space and create an option for his team-mates. Once he did get the ball, however, that was when the problems started.
He tried to get to do too much on far too many instances, and always went for the killer pass when there were simpler options.
His freekick attempt late on, which sailed straight into the second tier, summed up his game perfectly. Plenty of ideas, but zero execution.

Maxi Rodriguez - 6.5
The Argentinean winger failed to offer Liverpool the usual energy he brings to the side, and struggled to get himself into dangerous positions.

Dirk Kuyt (on 76') - 7
It's still unfathomable that Kuyt isn't a regular starter under Dalglish, especially considering the amount of drive he brings to the side.
The Dutchman spent the whole first half toiling a lone furrow down the right but drilled in a number of good balls that would have troubled the Fulham defence had someone been willing to make a run into the box.

Andy Carroll - 8
Yes, we never thought we'd say this, but Carroll was Liverpool's star man on Tuesday and looked the most likely to create a clear-cut chance for his side.
The England international displayed a never-say-die attitude as he charged to meet several over-hit crosses, and was unbeatable in the air all evening long.
Has he done enough to warrant a starting berth in the FA Cup final? We'll have to wait and see.

Subs
Stewart Downing (on 46') - 6

Downing did float one or two decent balls into the box after coming on, but he didn't make a single run at the Fulham full-backs down the wing, the only thing he's supposed to be good at.

Jose Enrique (on 66') - 6.5
The Spaniard struggled to get into the game until late on when he bombed forward with intent, but in his defence, he was probably saving himself for the weekend's FA Cup final.

Raheem Sterling (on 76') - 6.5
The 17-year-old showed plenty of pace and composure. With Liverpool's league campaign all but over, it'll be good to see more of him in their remaining two matches.
