Robinho not leaving Real Madrid
Madrid, July 18 The agent of Brazilian winger Robinho has said the player has no intention of leaving his club Real Madrid despite being approached by several big European sides.
Speaking to the Barcelona-based newspaper 'El Mundo Deportivo,' Wagner Ribeiro ended speculations of Robinho looking for a way out from Real Madrid to English Premiership side Chelsea.
Chelsea is rumoured to have offered a huge amount to the player and is aware that it would struggle to hold its top place with Real Madrid should the Spanish side eventually sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
Events have moved on this week with FC Barcelona also interested in taking Robinho away from their main rivals, something that Ribeiro did not deny.
'It is logical that a club such as Barcelona wants Robinho. Chelsea and Manchester United also want him and Chelsea have put in a big offer to Real Madrid for Robinho, but it looks as if the club does not want to sell him,' Ribeiro told El Mundo Deportivo.
'Robinho has got a contract with Real Madrid and for that reason he is not looking to leave the club,' insisted the agent. |

Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas has hinted he is interested in a move to Real Madrid, but poured cold water on the idea he could move to the Bernabeu this summer.
Reports in Spain suggest Madrid president Ramon Calderon, resigned to missing out on Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo, has prepared a big-money offer for the 21-year-old.
But while Fabregas, a product of the Barcelona youth academy, revealed he could move to Madrid in the future, he insists he wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium for the time being.
'I didn't tell Ramon Calderon no,' he told Spanish sports daily Marca. 'I told him that now wasn't the time to go to Madrid. That you are wanted by Madrid, one of the biggest teams in history, is important.'
Fabregas enjoyed a great summer as he helped Spain end their 44-year wait for a trophy at Euro 2008.
Domestically, however, for the third year on the trot, the midfielder ended yet another season empty-handed.
And the young star, who feels he would be certain to lift a trophy should he opt for the Spanish champions, admits another season without any silverware could see him head for the exit door.
'To be four seasons without winning any titles would be too much for me,' Fabregas added. 'Real Madrid are the favourites to win La Liga this year.'
Arsenal's trophy-less season was made even more painful as rivals Manchester United swept all before them at home and in Europe.
Fabregas is in no doubt that the man who made the difference for United would be a big success at the Bernabeu.
'The league and the Champions League that United won this season was because of Cristiano,' he continued. 'At Madrid he would help them win titles.'

Schuster concerned by Ronaldo obsession

MADRID, July 27 (Reuters) - Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster is concerned that his club's obsession with signing Cristiano Ronaldo could cause them to miss out on buying other players.
'As you all know at this club we have been obsessed with signing a player whose name I can't quite remember at the moment,' Schuster told reporters at the club's pre-season training base in Austria on Saturday.
'When you start something like this you know that if you don't sort it out quickly then it might be too late to sign another player.
'We have had plans in place for several months ready for any movement, for any solution, but the truth is that as time passes you are running the risk that Plan B might have become a little difficult.'
Although he said Ronaldo would fit perfectly into the Real Madrid squad, Schuster admitted that he understood manager Alex Ferguson's reluctance to let the Portugal winger leave Manchester United.
'They tell me he is a team player and he has proved that at Manchester.... I don't think he would have any problems in adapting to play with us.
'I'm absolutely certain that if I was in his (Ferguson's) position I would do exactly the same. I wouldn't like anyone to take a player like him from me even if I had won the league and the Champions League.
'He is the sort of player that no one wants to lose and for me the way in which the Manchester United manager is defending himself is perfect.'
When asked if the club's alternative plans involved Valencia's Spanish international striker David Villa, Schuster replied: 'I don't want to give any names.... All I can say is that they are attacking players.'
