okey.... just finished the book... julia quinn does not dissappoint me with her latest book.... as usual... the heroin is witty.... and i like.... miranda is just an ordinary looking girl, and her best friend, olivia is just the opposite, which means beautiful and charming and rich... but they are the best of friends... however, miranda never wish that she can be like olivia... she just content to be herself... i like that about her character..
we can see the family bonding here as in the bridgerton series... (andi always like stories that shows family bonding, that's one of thething i like about quinn's book)..... but it is not miranda's family...it's olivia and turner's family... there are 5 of them.... the parents,which are very kind to miranda, and i think they think of miranda asone of their own... then turner, the hero in this story... and his twinbrother and sister, olivia and winston....
miranda has been in love with olivia's older brother, turner since she was 10 years old... even i pun rasa nk fall in love ngan turner masa the first time miranda met him at olivia's and winston's (olivia's twin) 10th birthday party...
but the hero, turner, has changed 10 years later, after his disastrous marriage... but he is still sweet (he reminds me of anthony in the bridgerton series)... and sometimes he can be quite heartless... turner only thinks of miranda as his younger sister, just like olivia... but he gradually start to have a feeling for miranda... which is not a brotherly feeling... especially olivia who wants miranda to really be her sister, start matchmaking miranda with his twin, winston.... and winston also seems quite taken to miranda...
turner does not want to feel anything for miranda... because he respects her... and care about her... and he did not think he can love again after her already dead wife's betrayal.... that's why he try to distance himself from miranda...
in this book, there's not much story about miranda's family, only a little bit here and there about her father who is absorbed with his greek study, that he always forgot about miranda... but it doesn't impact much on miranda.... as olivia's family has consider her as one of their family.... and most of miranda's time is spent with olivia's family... there is also miranda's grandparents in scotland... which miranda went for the support during the middle of the story...
i really think julia quinn's next book will be about olivia.... and i can't wait... because olivia, even though she is beautiful, and the men seems taken to her.... she can be very direct.. if she don't like a person. she just said it to that person's face...
the cons... i think some of the characters has resemblance to the characters in the bridgerton series... i said here resemblance, not really the same... turner's mother remind me of lady bridgerton... and as i mentioned above, the hero reminded me of anthony, maybe because he is the eldest son, and the heir.... and olivia remind me of hyacinth...
but all in all.. this is a light reading.. and julia quinn can always put a smile to my face when reading her book.. |

JQ's 1st book that i read is Duke & I.. it's a keeper!, lepas2 tu trus collect all the bridgerton series.. That was early this year.. aku wonder knapa lah aku x notice author ni before.. maybe bcos front cover (piatkus publisher) mcm chic lit sket.. tu yg kurang menarik minat.. but tulah don't judge a book by its cover kan? and I had also most of her books.. yg aku bagik rating B- and below aku jual balik.. rating B and above of coz for shelf keep..  |

Tak berkait..tapi most of her books tu ada yg pasal Bridgerton family. Cubalah baca the Duke and I..pasti tidak mengecewakan. |
