Benzema In, Tevez Out At Manchester United?
According to the News of the World, Manchester United will attempt to sign Karim Benzema from Olympique Lyonnais in the summer - after they ditch Carlos Tevez.
Benzema has long been on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar, and he was heavily linked with move to Old Trafford last summer. However, OL made it crystal clear that their prize youngster was not for sale.
But now the 21-year-old striker looks certain to leave the Stade Gerland at season's end, and United have joined the lenghtening queue for his signature.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are also thought to be keen on the French international, although the latter club's interest may fade as Tevez edges closer to the exit door at Old Trafford.
The Argentine forward has been deprived of first-team opportunities this term - much to bemusement of pundits and public alike, it must be said - and is becoming increasingly dissatisfied with his bit-part role.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old is approaching the end of his two-year loan spell, and United seem reluctant to cough up the ?34 million required to make the deal permanent.
Thus, the Red Devils could let Tevez leave and instead splash out on Benzema, even though it may take upwards of ?40 million to prise him away from Lyon.
Of course, these reports are purely speculatory, and only time will tell whether there is any truth in them whatsoever.
bye..bye hulk.. |

Chelsea's preparations for their vital Barclays Premier League clash against Manchester United were interrupted by a hotel fire alarm early this morning.
Chelsea coach Luiz Felipe Scolari, his backroom staff, players and other hotel guests were all evacuated from their Manchester hotel when the alarm was raised at 0700 GMT.
The entire Chelsea squad was kept outside while the local fire brigade made certain the hotel was safe.
Fire officers searched the hotel floors to ensure it was safe to return and the Chelsea players spent around 50 minutes outside and in the lobby before being allowed to go back to their rooms. |

[quote]RAFA Benitez has followed up his rant at Sir Alex Ferguson byquestioning David Gill抯 dual role as Manchester United chief executiveas well as FA decision maker.
Gill has been on the FA board since replacing David Dein 30 months ago and is highly regarded.
Benitez, who will have a third operation to remove kidney stones onWednesday, alleged that United had influenced how their fixture listwas drawn up and that the FA were lenient in disciplining Ferguson.
Talking about Gill, who is also on the FA World Cup board bidding forthe 2018 tournament, Benitez said: 揑t抯 another fact. So maybe we willtalk in another press conference about facts.
揙ne fact is that a person that has a lot of power and control and ison a lot of committees is in the FA. So, something is very strange. |
