gaji memang lumayan....15k sebulan termasuk rumah dan keter....7 bulan offshore , rest dok ofis sebab winter tak leh nak korek minyak kat kutub sana
15k tu bukan rm yer tapi euro ( convert rm dalam rm60k , pengalaman dia baru dalam 4 tahun dalam O&G
memang boleh wat duit tul keje OnG nie.. |

suruh die try apply kat yokogawa...gaji tak besar sgt la...tapi ada site/offshore allowance and ot....ramai ex yokogawa skg da keje ngn client mcm shell, talisman, CPOC, KPOC, Titan...etc.....
start from vendor...then got change to become client/end user. gud luck |

Salam, just nak bagi input on career in o&g. O&g tak semestinya synonimous dgn offshore je, or kena gi platform or naik kapal. Oil and gas domains macam Exploration and production scope dia besar. If you have the knowledge, banyak lagi opportunities yang office based but gaji still masyuk. Aku kerja dlm bidang ong exploration and production, specifically exploration geophysics, but sentuh geology and some engineering principles. Dalam subdomain ni, kalau knowledge ko gempak, serious you're highly regarded and valued.
Aku sekarang dengan one of the top e and p service provider in the world, and with my culminated experience, 5 years++ (tupun kira inexperienced lagi) ada je headhunter cari as time goes by. From geophysics perspective, ada work scope from seismic processing, electromagnetic, geophysical hazards, interpretation, integrated geosciences focusing on exploration techniques, all the way to modeling geos. Bidang geology lagi lah luas, from wellsite geologists, sedimentologists, reservoir based dan macam2 lagi. Itu Tak kira reservoir engineering or petroleum technologies nyer subdomain lagi. Career dalam bidang e & p ni luas sangat. My senior malaysian with 8 years exp is equivalent to staff geophysicist nyer pangkat, but theories sgt power, her grade scheme starts from rm20k++, thats office based, balik plng lambat pun kul 6-7 pm. Edited: she is known as an area geophysicist. Some of u mesti tau aku kerja mana, heheh. Dalam company aku, area geos ada professional community, macam platinum group. Benefit kaw2, siap ada golf membership allowance tahap gaban and so on. Also, I know my company fellow in geoscience with numerous patents and publication, industry recognized, gaji 6 figures monhtly pakai contract scheme dah, gaji besar sgt. Actually my sifu in my company.
What im trying to say is, tak semestinya kerja offshore baru boleh garner income melambung. Try to vye for opportunies in Oil and gas but in various domain of business eg exploration and production. Engineers, geologist and geophysicists, chemist based, biosciences, physics maths grads all have opportunities to join the wide e & p sector. I even have a colleague with degree computer but from programming background masuk e&p research, now ada master petroleum geoscience and kerja as exploration geoscientists in malaysian national oil company.
Aku pula so far, i'm very grateful to be doing e&p (with focus on exploration side) kerja office based, except short term assignments in other offices around the world, and less work risks, alhamdulillah dah hit 5 figure mark (10k++) with 5 years work exp. But aku pun ada msc petroleum geoscience gak to help me with my salary.
The best thing about e&p is, peluang belajar sangat20x tinggi, but you have to be hardworking in learning up the theories and doing your job well. In e&p, knowledge is highly regarded, kalau u terrer, you can earn as much as what those guys in offshore makes, or even more. Career ladder is so wide you can criss-cross into different domains to build ure expertise.
But stop, bukan setakat e&p focused areas je yang korang perlu fokus into, other things yang berkenaan oil and gas macam qhse, hazards, business planning / management etc, it all comes down to how you can make yourself valuable at your workplace.
But all in all, oil and gas is not the only industry where u can triumph. Take my close uncle, still in his 30s, he works as an accountant in an investment firm, but hes earning 10k++ and baru dpat 1 year bonus, terus beli exora cash. U tak tau rezeki kat mana. I pun tak pernah dapar bonus more than 3 months.
