The Los Libertadores International Pass, is one of the most impressive routes that connect Argentina and Chile through the Andes Mountains. Located at more than 3,200 meters above sea level, it is a vital corridor that connects the Argentine city of Mendoza with the Valparaíso region in Chile. This pass is famous for its spectacular landscapes of snow-capped mountains and its challenging road, especially on the Chilean side, where there is a series of 29 sharp curves known as "Los Caracoles". During winter, snowfall can cause the pass to be temporarily closed, but in summer it is a busy route for both tourists and transporters. In addition, its almost 3 km tunnel is a work of engineering that facilitates the crossing under the peaks of the Andes. |
