lagi satu kat borang permohonan ada tulis rujukan peribadi (referees)...sorang kakitgn kat situ...lagi satu utk akademik...
ni untuk rujukan peribadi yg pertama adakah lebih baik letak nama seseorang yang kita x kenal cuma tau nama ( kawan atas kawan) atau biar jer ruang tu kosong sbb kita memang x kenal sesapa kat organisasi tuh!
agak-agak dlm interbiu nanti dia tanya memacam x pasal sipolan yg kita kenal tu?.... |

My Resume pt.1
Somebody requested me for sample resumes recently. Well, I抳e never really looked at sample resumes to create mine, so I don抰 really know what抯 good out there. And since I know mine better, I guess it抯 a better idea if I share my own, so that I can explain to yall the rationale behind everything.
First off, let me tell you that I am by no means an expert in resume writing. All I know is what I gathered throughout 1 |

Part 2
Education
Start with your degree level, concentration, and school name. Since I had not graduated yet when I sent out the resume, I put my expected graduation date.
Then comes your GPA. Now as far as I know, Major GPA is optional. The reason why I put it is that I hate my Cumulative GPA so much, and the fact that I got like 4 straight 3.80 semester GPA for my last 4 semesters don抰 do justice to my overall one. And I did much better in my major courses compared to general education classes and other courses that screwed me up. I just wanted to make a point that I don抰 take my major lightly. And that抯 why I put my major GPA before my cumulative one. I also wrote it in 3 decimal places because that抯 how it looks like on my transcript, and I wanted to show how close I was to getting Cum Laude .
The other thing is, I was told by others that it is advised that if your CGPA is below 3.0 (at least for engineering students, others may want to have higher threshold), don抰 put it. But that抯 up to you to decide.
For your course list, put what抯 relevant. Don抰 include your dancing class or weight training or swimming classes in there, they're not relevant (unless you抮e applying for jobs in that area of course) even though you wanna show how well rounded you are. Leave that to the interview. Now if you look at mine, most of the courses I listed is pretty standard for ME students (statics, dynamics, thermo, heat transfer etc). I only included a few elective courses like MEMS and stuff. Well, I wish I took more electives so that I can diversify my list, but I didn抰 (I didn抰 get the visa on time so I was screwed schedule-wise ). So I just put mostly the basic ones. Oh yeah, make sure you don抰 just copy your course name verbatim. Reword it or shorten it if necessary. Otherwise the employer may not understand it, and you may end up wasting space. For example, my CAD class was named 揅omputer Aided Design for Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering |

I think (actually i'm not that good at grammar too), your statement would be more grammatically correct if you said "I can view neither X nor Y", or "I can't view either X or Y". I understood your meaning and, but I guess 'grammar police' won't like double negatives.
p/s: "Don't put no junk in my living room" for example is usually acceptable for informal conversations, at least in the US. |

Part 3
Computer Skills
I initially put this near the bottom, but one recruiter with whom I had my resume reviewed (I think a lady from Qualcomm) suggested that I put it near the top. To think about it, it makes sense. Your computer skill is perhaps even more important than your course list (I didn抰 want to separate my course list with the rest of the stuff under Education). The software that you know may sometimes determine whether or not you are considered for the position. If you know some software that they want you to know, or something similar, they won抰 have to spend too much time (which is money) to train you.
Organize them into small groups. I had 4, you may have more, or less. But it抯 not advisable to just combine them all. If I were to do it again, I would rename 揝oftware Applications |
