Tetsuya Nakashima directs short movie for PS3 game
Tue, August 14, 2007 (4:29am EDT)

Director Tetsuya Nakashima ("Memories of Matsuko," "Kamikaze Girls") has created a short movie for the Playstation 3 game, "Boku no Natsuyasumi 3."

The "Boku no Natsuyasumi" series revolves around a young boy spending his summer vacation in the countryside, allowing players to relive the simple pleasures of childhood.

Nakashima's movie, titled "Ano Natsu ni" and lasting less than two minutes, takes a rather dark approach to the concept. Hirofumi Arai plays a thuggish man who sends his woman (Tsugumi) into tears, and as he runs from the apartment, a gangster (Susumu Terajima) shows up to stab him with a knife. Meanwhile, voice-overs by the three of them think back upon their youthful summers, wishing to God that they could return to those days.

The clip (with some "making of" scenes) can be seen on a special website for the game (the second video on the right side).

Minomonta returns to 7 shows a week
Wed, August 15, 2007 (4:12am EDT)

In October, NTV will introduce "Himitsu no Kenmin SHOW" into its regular lineup. It will replace "Nippon Tabi Tabi Show" in the Thursday 9:00pm time slot.

"Himitsu no Kenmin Show" has aired twice before as a special program, receiving ratings of 13.0% and 15.7%. The program features Japanese celebrities explaining various local customs from their respective hometowns.

Hosts Minomonta and Masami Hisamoto will return for the regular show. While the previous specials had two hours to include celebrities from every prefecture, the new version will only be able to fit in 15 to 20 guests each episode.

With this show, Minomonta once again returns to his incredibly busy schedule of 7 regular weekly programs. Since the end of "Captain Domino" in July, he has only had 6 regular appearances per week.
