Chelsea supporters have voted Joe Cole the club's Player of the Year for 2008.:pompom::pompom:

In the award ceremony at Stamford Bridge, Cole finished ahead of theother two nominated players Ricardo Carvalho and Michael Ballack.
It is the first time Cole has collected the accolade, which was presented by former Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly.

'I always dreamt of playing for Chelsea and my other dream was toplay for the best team in the world,' said boyhood Blues supporter Coleon receiving it.

'I think I am doing both things at the moment so I am very happy.

'I take pleasure coming into work every day and playing with some ofthe best players in the world. I try to learn every day and we havesome good banter.'

Other awards preceded Cole's. Juliano Belletti's 35-yard strike againstTottenham at the Bridge in January won Goal of the Season, sponsored byChelsea TV, and handed over by all-time leading scorer Bobby Tambling.

'I play in defence so I am never thinking about winning somethinglike this,' said the Brazilian. 'It is a good sensation and I am happy.

'I tried to shoot from the outside of the box on this occasionbecause nobody from the opposition came to me. I see the space, I hadtime to prepare my body and I try to shoot because I see what ispossible.

'The fans don't like Tottenham a lot so it is good.'

The Samsung Players' Player Award, selected by the squad and staff, went to Ricardo Carvalho.:pompom:

'We have so much quality in our squad and they voted for me, it isunbelievable,' insisted Carvalho. 'I don't have words to explain how Ifeel.'

A special achievement award was handed to Frank Lampard by formerEngland rugby captain Lawrence Dallaglio in recognition of themidfielder's 100 Chelsea goals, with Lampard nominating his tight-angleturn and chip in Barcelona as technically the best but his two atBolton to win the league as the favourites.

This Bolton fixture has ALWAYS played an important role in influencing our league title ambitions the last 3 seasons:

2004/05 .... won at reebok to wrap up the title

2005/06 .... won at reebok (coupled with manU draw) to put us in position to win title at SB

2006/07 .... drew at SB to gift wrap title to manU

2007/08 .... ???

Man Utd have not taken three points away from home since March 15that Derby and have since drawn at Middlesbrough and Blackburn and lostat Stamford Bridge. Their away results in the north-west have beenindifferent losing at Man City and Bolton, drawing at Blackburn andwinning at Everton and Liverpool.

Wigan are unbeaten in the league at the JJB for nearly four months, winning four and drawing three since Everton won there in January.
