How can you say your economy is the most stable and powerful when you have countless millions unemployed, countless millions dirt poor and living under the poverty line, insurgencies in Aceh, Papua New Guinea, frequent earthquakes destroying properties and killing hundreds if not thousands, terrorism, etc? As the bulk of our public debt is due to issuing non-marketable government bonds to the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board, in exchange for CPF funds at the interest rates paid for the various CPF account types, Singapore may actually be in a very strong financial situation, as we hardly have any external debt.
However, the public debt may be problematic, if we decide to pay higher rates of interest on CPF funds, such as Malaysia’s Employee Provident Fund (EPF) which pays actual returns of the fund every year, or if we decide to allow CPF withdrawals at earlier ages, or lower CPF Minimum Sums withheld until age 65 and beyond.
In a simple word is your gov had issued a non-tradeable bonds in exchange of borrowing CPF fund. Bonds is a liabilities/debt instrument. Considering cost and benefit factors and world economy turmoil ahead, free investor will consider this kind of bonds as a garbage bonds......
The sad thing is CPF stuck with the bonds, but what CPF can do to reject your gov policy?

You should study harder in economy....... Firstly, you should know that most singapore investment in indonesia is done by expats in singapore including indonesian whose company registered in singapore. How do you think singapore known as a financial hub? Like i said before expats is the real boss in singapore. Make some research how many property in singapore owned by indonesian....... Secondly, market is everything today. A stable country with big market is loveable. A lot of big company is looking for good investment in a country with big market like china, india, and indonesia.
We have kicked out Temasek Holdings investment in Indosat under the law...... And now the indosat is owned by Middle East company. And we are now trying to buy back temasek shares in telkomsel, but looks like temasek still in love investing in indonesia.
Well, I wonder if Temasek and all singaporean dare to leave indonesia?....... coz some others company is already line up to replace you.

Kepala Dinas Penerangan KoarmatimTNI-AL, Letkol Laut (P) Yayan Sugiana, di Surabaya, Rabu, mengatakan, kelima kapal perang itu KRI Banda Aceh, KRI Sura, KRI Kerapu, KRI Slamet Riyadi, dan KRI Karel Sasuit Tubun/356.
TNI-AL membentuk Satuan Tugas Pengamanan Wilayah Laut KTT ASEAN, terdiri unsur kekuatan atas air dan bawah air. Pasukan-pasukan khusus berkualifikasi anti teror dan demolisi bawah air dan aksi anti demolisi bawah air, juga dikerahkan. Pokoknya, jangan ada istilah kecolongan.
Kelima kapal perang itu dari tipe dan jenis yang jadi andalan TNI-AL. KRI Karel Sasuit Tubun/356, sebagai contoh, dari tipe fregat kelas Van Speijk eks Angkatan Laut Kerajaan Belanda yang telah direvitalisasi habis-habisan sejak bertahun lalu.
Untuk ukuran pertahanan regional, KRI Karel Sasuit Tubun/356 cukup menggentarkan. Dia bisa meluncurkan peluru kendali permukaan-udara MM-39 Blok IV Exocet, dan sistem radar yang bisa menyapu wilayah sampai ratusan kilometer.
"Seluruh kapal perang sudah diberangkatkan ke perairan Bali pada Selasa (8/11), dipimpin langsung Komandan Gugus Tempur Laut Wilayah Timur TNI-AL, Laksamana Pertama TNI Sulaeman Banjarnahor, yang berada di KRI Banda Aceh," katanya.
Selain lima kapal perang, unsur kekuatan lain yang tergabung dalam satuan tugas itu yakni tiga tim Komando Pasukan Katak TNI-AL, satu tim Dinas Penyelaman Bawah Air TNI-AL, tim kesehatan, dan satu unit helikopter Bell UH-417.
"Tugas pengamanan sudah dilakukan sejak lima hari sebelum KTT dan satgas kembali ke Surabaya lima hari setelah kegiatan itu berakhir," tambah Kadispen.
Selain pemimpin negara-negara di kawasan Asia Tenggara, KTT ASEAN juga akan dihadiri beberapa pemimpin negara lain, di antaranya dari Presiden Barack Obama, Rusia, Jepang, Selandia Baru, Korea Selatan, dan China.

Presiden mengatakan modernisasi alutsista akan dilakukan all out dan pengadaannya bisa dipertanggungjawabkan.
"Sekarang pertumbuhan ekonomi kita meningtkat dan belanja negara juga meningkat maka karena itu kita menuntut peningkatan alutsista," kata SBY.

Jakarta - Indonesia sedang mengembangkan produksi kendaraan taktis (Rantis) dalam negeri di PT Pindad Bandung. Diharapkan Rantis lokal ini bisa sejajar dengan Hummer produksi Amerika Serikat (AS).
"Kita akan mengembangkan industri kendaraan taktis, ya kayak Hummer. Ini sudah dikerjakan oleh Pindad. Kita harapkan dalam waktu beberapa bulan ini selesai. Itu joint production," ujar Menhan Purnomo Yusgiantoro usai rapat soal alutsista di Istana Presiden, Jl Medan Merdeka Utara, Jakarta Pusat, Kamis (10/11/2011).
Menurut Purnomo, Rantis ini nantinya akan digunakan oleh pasukan khusus Indonesia maupun brigade-brigade tempur TNI. Pemerintah saat ini terus berusaha mengembangkan BUMN strategis untuk mencukupi kebutu*an alutsista TNI dan Polri. Berbagai cara dilakukan, mulai dari penyertaan modal negara hingga mengembangkan pasar untuk menjual alutsista buatan Indonesia.
"Bagaimana kita mendorong agar terjadi pergeseran yang tadinya impor kemudian produksi bersama kemudian juga bisa jadi produksi dalam negeri," jelas Purnomo.

The Indonesian government is looking at purchasing second-hand weaponry from a number of European countries, expecting the equipment to be offered at low prices with the debt crisis plaguing the eurozone.
Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro said on Thursday in Jakarta that the crisis had forced some European countries, aside the US, to reduce their military expenses.
“What does the reduction mean? That means they will sell their weaponry and at low prices,” Purnomo said after a Cabinet meeting that discussed the issue at the Presidential Office in Jakarta.
The minister added the government was mulling over purchasing the weaponry from France, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Spain.
He said President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had given him two weeks to decide whether or not Indonesia should make the purchase.
Purnomo said the President would allow the purchase as long as it did not cost more than US$6.5 billion.
“So I guess we can only buy the second-hand equipment, because the budget should not exceed US$6.5 billion,” he said, as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
