Idol Stars Gearing Up for Various Activities

The idol forecast for 2009 will be bright with new groups, individual activities, concerts and tours.
Super Junior, the 13-member pop group, saw some of its members branching out here and also abroad through smaller ``units'' like Super Junior-T, Super Junior-Happy, Super Junior-M and Super Junior-K.R.Y, but this year will see all of the members getting together as one whole group.
``We think we show our best performances when we are all working together. We will show everyone what Super Junior has in store this year, all together,'' the members said at a recent press conference before their concert scheduled for this month.
The group will release its third album in March. While the members of Super Junior are getting back together, Big Bang is gearing up for solo activities.
The five-member pop group is holding concerts from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1 and will greet fans individually through different projects. Victory, known as Seung-ri here, has started performing solo songs recently.
His song ``Strong Baby'' was included in the group's album, and slowly gained popularity day after day, especially after his performance during a music program on major TV network SBS last month. With a music video and album plans, Victory will hopefully prove that he can fly solo.
``Along with Victory, G-Dragon and Tae-yang are also looking at releasing solo albums soon. Dae-sung is also planning to release a trot (Korean traditional pop genre) single , while TOP will continue to work with other singers, including Gummy and Uhm Jung-hwa. Fans will have the chance to witness the various musical skills of the members,'' YG Entertainment said.
Fans of Wonder Girls will be thrilled to know that the hit pop group will hold its first concert in February. After the concert, however, the group will move to the United States and carry out their U.S. promotions for the time being.
Nine-member group Girls' Generation is planning to release its first mini-album called ``Gee'' Jan. 7. The main track, also titled ``Gee,'' was written by famed songwriter E-Tribe, the same composer who brought Lee Hyo-ri's hit number ``U-Go Girl.''
Being one of the only girl groups to have sold more than 10,000 albums with their debut work ``Girls' Generation'' last year, the group's next project started a buzz among fans and those working in the pop music industry
TVXQ, who returned to the pop scene after a two-year hiatus last year with its fourth album, is planning to tour overseas this year. Starting in Korea, the five-member group will take ``The Third Asia Tour Concert-Mirotic'' to places such as Beijing and Bangkok. The group's local concert will be held at the Gymnastics Stadium, Olympic Park. TVXQ will also release a single album later this month in Japan.

Girls’ Generation (SNSD) have been displaying their friendship with the Wonder Girls, cheering for their counterparts and sending them messages of encouragement.
Both Girls’ Generation and the Wonder Girls debuted in 2007 and have endured frequent comparisons on account of the fact that they are both female groups. The fact that they represent two competing influential management companies—SM and JYP—has also been a point under close scrutiny.
Girls’ Generation and the Wonder Girls have even exchanged songs on occasion, each singing the other group’s song on a TV broadcast. At the time, Girls’ Generation sang the Wonder Girls’ <Tell Me> which was very appealing for the public. The audience cheered aloud at seeing the 9 members in formation dancing the <Tell Me> dance.
TaeYeon stated, “We’ve exchanged songs with the other group and sang each other’s songs before. We’ve exchanged songs with the Wonder Girls and we did our best to sing them and not cause any harm. We felt we’d be doing more harm than not by messing up the Wonder Girls’ song so we put a lot of thought into it and practiced. It might be because we like the Wonder Girls’ song too, but we had a lot of fun practicing.”
TaeYeon has also traded songs onstage with singer JOO in the past. JOO’s condition at the time was suffering and it was TaeYeon who received attention afterwards.
Upon being asked if they are rivals with the Wonder Girls, Girls’ Generation stated, “We’re friends with the Wonder Girls. We were able to become close because we sang each other’s songs and were able to catch a glimpse of the effort each group put in.” They added, “The Wonder Girls have their own unique Wonder Girls color to them and we have our own unique color to us, so we hope people can like and value us all.”

[size=+1][INFO] Hit & Run to Blame for WG Fan-Meeting Delay + Concert Date Change
It has been revealed that Wonder Girls’ member Sunye’s vehicle suffered hit & run damage on January 7th.
Fortunately,this happened while the vehicle was parked and there was no one insideSunYe’s vehicle at the time. However, the event resulted in the WonderGirls being 40 minutes late to their scheduled fan-meeting.
In aphone conversation with AsiaE, a representative for the Wonder Girls’management company, JYP, stated, “Sunye has her own car which she wasusing before she was supposed to come to our management offices. She’dleft parked it somewhere briefly, but someone hit her car in that timeand took off.”
“Initially, the members were supposed to meet atour offices and head to the fan-meeting site together. But it wasdifficult for Sunye to come all the way to the office, so the othermembers and staff who’d gathered went to pick up Sunye on the way tothe fan-meeting.” The representative then apologized, stating, “It wasthe first fan-meeting of the new year and we’re sorry to the fans.”
Thefan-meeting in question was sponsored by OnSe Telecom and held at theSeoul CheongDamDong Art Hole. Comedian Kim WanGi had to stall until theWonder Girls finally arrived on location.
On another note, the Wonder Girls had plans for a solo concert in Seoul on the 14th of next month, but it has been delayed until March 28 in order to give the group more time to prepare their event to perfection.
