Arsenal Hitman Eduardo Ready For First Team After 11 Month Injury

The Brazilian-born Croatian has spent eleven months recovering from a broken leg, but believes he is now ready for a return to first team action...

"Welcome back DUDU!!! "

One of the defining images (and also one of the most disturbing) of last season was undoubtedly Martin Taylor's above-ball lunge on Eduardo da Silva that left the likeable Crozilian striker with a fractured left fibula and an open dislocation of his left ankle.

His recovery though was initially ahead of schedule, and videos quickly surfaced of him undergoing rehabilitation in Rio de Janiero where he was seen undergoing trampoline exercises, together with kicking a football, after as little as ten weeks after the horror challenge.

The Brazil born Croatian international has featured for Arsenal reserves twice now, and believes he is finally ready for an outing in the first team. "I am ready," he has proudly declared.

Da Silva came close to scoring on his returns to action, as he struck the frame of the goal when he lined up against Portsmouth reserves last month, and then had an 87th minute strike ruled offside last night when Arsenal played Stoke reserves.

"The goal is coming," Eduardo told the club's official website.

"I am happy because I have got the chances, and that is not easy. Only when I get a chance can I finish it.

"It has been a long time since I抳e played 90 minutes and now I feel better knowing that I can play a whole game. I feel much stronger than I have and I am very happy now."

He continued: "The plan against Portsmouth Reserves was to play an hour but we decided with the small injury that I should go off because of the risk in continuing the game.

"But I am happy now, I played 45 minutes of that game which was good for my confidence."

Regarding his readiness for first team action, he added:

"I think I am ready for the first team but you would have to ask the boss.

"I feel very well and I抦 training hard every day. Of course I want to come back quick and strong. Now, every game for me is a big step.

"In my head and everything I am ready. I am happy with the 90 minutes tonight on a very hard pitch with all the hard rain. I needed time in the Reserves to get my match fitness back.

"But playing my first game for the first team, I am ready now and I am just waiting for my chance."

Arsenal reserves drew 2-2 with Stoke City. Jack Wilshere either side of the break, one of which was a wonder goal struck with the outside of his left boot.

Arsenal Will Offload Bendtner To Fund Arshavin - Report

Arsenal may be tempted to sell young striking prospect Nicklas Bendtner in order to raise some extra money, which would be used to buy Andrei Arshavin from Zenit St Petersburg.

"Ah sudah..baru jer nak naik dia ni"

Arsenal are keen to land Andrei Arshavin before the end of the January transfer window, however, they're not getting far with notoriously tough cookies Zenit St Petersburg, the 27-year-old Russian's current club.

Reports vary regarding the status of the potential Arshavin deal. The Sun insists that a
