Liverpool huffed and puffed but could only manage a 1-1 draw against Norwich at Anfield in the Barclays Premier League.

Liverpool
Reina - 6.5
Reina stood strong against Hoolahan with just 15 minutes on the clock. That was the positive side. Now for the negative. He was caught in no man's land for Norwich's equalising goal, allowing Holt the chance to head into an empty net.

Skrtel - 6.5
Did his bit for his team with some great tackles but might probably should have opened the scoring for Liverpool in the third minute.

Carragher - 7
Not vintage Carragher. Nevertheless, he stood out amongst Liverpool's back four.

Enrique - 6.5
One of his poorer performances in a Liverpool shirt, although it his ball up field which led to Liverpool's only goal of the game.

Johnson - 6.5
He had to be on his toes against the plucky Pilkington and for the most part Johnson was a steady influence at the back.

Gerrard - 7.5
Liverpool were fantastic in the opening 45 minutes and really should have been two or three goals up. Gerrard was the driving force for all their good play in midfield - he completed 71/79 passes throughout the game.

Adam - 7
One of Liverpool's more dynamic players on the night - and had a shout for a penalty late in the game turned down. Barnett played the ball first but certainly took a chunk out of Adam at virtually the same time. Good decision by the ref but you've seen them given for less.

Downing (Off 80') - 6
Created a fair few chances for Liverpool. The Reds simply failed to take their chances and were punished - they had 29 shots against Norwich's 12.

Kuyt (Off 91') - 7
The Dutchman ran the channels for Liverpool very well.

Bellamy (Off 69') - 7
Bellamy's pace continues to be a problem for whoever he faces. His stoppage time goal for the Reds showed why he will be an asset to King Kenny this season: it showed focus, it had pace, and composure.

Suarez - 7
It's not hard to see why he's a fan favourite at Anfield. His silky skills with the ball makes him a nightmare to defend and against Norwich he created chance after chance. The problem is: his finishing isn't as sharp as his dribbling and he ended the game goalless.

Subs
Henderson (On 69') - 6.5
He didn't do his case for a starting place much good with an average cameo display with around 30 minutes to go. It's clear his lacking a little confidence.

Carroll (On 80') - 6
Had a glorious chance to win the game for Liverpool when he was found in space in the box by a team-mate. He headed wide!
Agger (On 91') - N/A


Norwich City
Ruddy - 7
He had some iffy moments - no doubt - but who cares? His save to deny Suarez a stoppage time winner for Liverpool more than made up for it. When it was all said and done he was one of many heroes for Norwich.

Barnett - 8
A masterclass in defending from Barnett. He may not be the most talented defender in the BPL but his ability to spot danger and deal with it was evident for all to see at Anfield.

Martin - 6
The 25-year-old Scot was given the unenviable task of suppressing Luis Suarez but worked tirelessly to keep up with the tricky Uruguayan. Stumbled when it mattered to allow Bellamy in for the goal. Atoned later on with a last-ditch block to deny Suarez on the 51st minute.

Tierney - 7
Started well, meeting a couple of headers confidently and stuck to his task down the left well, forcing Downing into a number of poor crosses by forcing him down the line. Combined well with the excellent Pilkington and nearly saw Morison score from his deep cross.

Naughton - 6.5
Suarez embarrassed him early on but he got better as the game progressed.

Johnson - 6.5
A tidy shift in midfield from Johnson against his more illustrious opponents.

Fox - 7
Distributed the ball excellently for Norwich.

Hoolahan - 7
He was Norwich's most influential man in their attacking third.

Pilkington (Off 93') - 7
Combined well with Hoolahan to form Norwich's creative outlet.

Bennett (On 57') - 5.5
Was brought off for Holt after a disappointing performance.

Morison - 6.5
Dangerous in the air but did little else with the ball at his feet.

Subs
Holt (On 57') - 7.5
It was a great header from Holt to earn Norwich a point but perhaps Reina might have saved it had he not gone to claim the cross?
Crofts (On 93') - N/A
