Ground Court is located at 321 Orchard Road Orchard Shopping Centre (somewhere near Specialist Shopping Centre) #05-01, telephone numbers are 235 2102.
Grand Court only offers buffet lunch. It is at $12 per head (weekdays only). They charged at a different rate on weekends. They have quite a variety for their buffet lunch. Rice, noodles, curry, all sorts of dishes and even kway. Lastly not forgetting the deserts. Chinese tea is a compliment with the buffet lunch. If you would like other drinks, there will be a surcharge. However, you may also take the cold drink available on the buffet table.
One additional advantage it has is that it is the 1st vegetarian restaurant that has a Halal certificate. So Malays who wants to try Chinese food are always welcomed to this restaurant

Esoknya, saya menghubungi Queen's Satay.
Tetapi hingga kini tiada berita.

NAK TAHU DI MANA TAUFIK SUKA LEPAK? Oleh
Siti Nurashika Mohd Ali
Penulis Sambilan
KALAU nak hidangkan burger, memanglah beliau suka.
Kalau saya order mi goreng, saya mesti pesan mereka, Strictly no onions and no tauge!

Make $ense to go halal By Celine Lim
May 13, 2005
Old Chang Kee outlets are doing brisk business after getting halal certification.
OLD Chang Kee has broken new ground and is selling more of its famous curry puffs.
Since going halal in January, sales have increased by '5 to 7 per cent' said Mr William Lim, the company's managing director.
He expects sales to increase by 'up to 12 per cent' eventually.
Old Chang Kee's senior halal executive, Mr Sudyono Solehim, said there was definitely a demand for Old Chang Kee to go halal.
HALAL CURRY PUFFS
Before being halal-certified, he used to receive calls and e-mails from customers asking if Old Chang Kee's curry puffs were halal.
Old Chang Kee is just one of many local companies entering the fray for the halal dollar locally - a trend that is reflected globally too.
Three years ago, Polar Puffs & Cakes, another home-grown curry puff and snack seller, decided to go halal.
And business at their 24 outlets 'boomed' after that, according to Mr Hamza Ahmad, Polar's supplies manager and halal enforcement officer.
To be certified halal, a restaurant must ensure all its ingredients are from halal sources, meat and its derivatives are from animals slaughtered according to Islamic rites, and that there is no cross-contamination between halal and non-halal food.
This year alone, the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Muis) has received 78 applications for halal certification between January and end-March.
Mr Shahlan Hairalah, head of Muis' Halal Certification Strategic Unit said: 'The number of halal-certified premises increased by 20 per cent from 1,257 in 2003 to 1,512 last year.'
However, he said that there is no official figure for the exact size of the halal market in Singapore.
Miss Shahidal Salleh, 24, who works in the health industry, said: 'It's a good thing that more restaurant owners are aware that it's not so difficult to get a halal certificate.
'They just have to make some adjustments and it lets them get a bigger market share.
'And now I don't need to go all the way to Malaysia to eat different types of cuisines.'
Ms Rooziah Bohari, 42, a ticketing manager, said: 'There are more choices for eating out. Earlier, if I wanted to eat at Kentucky Fried Chicken, I'd have to go to Johor Bahru.'
However, she noted: 'Their halal certificate has to be right in my face so I can see that it is valid.' |

Last Saturday, Chic pegi Singapore Post building yg pat Paya Lebar tu jalan2. Tak pernah pegi sana. Macam2 lah eh. Then nampak satu kedai roti ni called Blossom. Halal Certified. Ada gantung ayat in Chinese calligraphy and also cina punya poster merah tu. Berbual ngan Nyonya pat cashier dia kata owner of the shop is a Muslim convert. Kakak dia kawin Muslim, dia rapat ngan BIL dia, terus dia pun convert. Chic beli Turkey ham bun and chicken curry bun. Sedap. Kalau order cake pat sana, diorang hantar ke rumah percuma. Sesiapa jalan pat sana boleh try.... |
