congratulation to tim "lin cy young" lincecum for winning 2008 national league cy young award. second in giants history and first since mike mccormick in 1967.
he deserves it. at only 24, he's one of the few youngest winners.

yes, he's playing for sf giants - starting pitcher. next season, he's going to head the rotation, and he should (in my opinion).
i don't really watch baseball anymore, except when the giants play. i just read the news. but, if i think there's a good match up or if there's a player that i really want to watch, i'll probably watch. this year world series, i didn't watch a game. so, can't comment too much on it.
bo, don't know what's up with him.

what do you expect? they prepared for only two weeks and most of their best 25 are not even on the team - all teams are in spring training preparing for the season that will start in about 2 weeks.
pitchers: jake peavy is the only cy young winner. roy oswalt and ted lily are the only other well-known starters.
catchers: they have only brian mccann.
infielders: look like an all-star lineup. but with two weeks to prepare, it's not easy, especially playing shortstop and second base where you really need to have very good chemistry to consistently turn in double play.
outfielders: none deserve to be mentioned, in my opinion.

oobi rasa isyarat catcher dengan pitcher, universal. cuma team signs ajer lain sikit... catcher biasanya yang call how a pitcher pitch. experience catcher will make ordinary pitcher looks really good. that's why catching is one of the toughest position to play and excel, besides pitching. for example, kalau catcher tunjuk isyarat index finger inside, it's probably mean fastball inside... something like that. kalau pitcher and catcher tak in-sync, tu yang jadi wild pitch. catcher akan tunjuk several signs until pitcher setuju... by nodding his head. after running several signs, tapi pitcher still tak setuju, they will call timeout and catcher and pitcher will have a small talk near the mound. sometimes join by the infielders.
in MLB, we'll see pitchers keep licking their pitching hands. they do it to make sure they have a good grip on the ball (new balls tend to be a bit slick). and they can't do it on the mound... they have to go to grass area to do it.

setahu aku..isyarat tu direka supaya lawan tak tahu dia nak kasi bola apa. dua jari --> slider ka..3 jari --> curve ke..lain team lain jenis isyarat..sebab tu pengulas baseball kat tv tak pernah mention pitcher akanbagi bola apa. |

if the tournament was held during the season, of course. but baseball world classic was held during off season. so, the decision is really on the players. most players decided not to join because the tournament was held during spring trainings, especially if they are new to the teams, to prepare for the season.
for example, tim lincecum of sf giants, he was selected but against joining the national team because he's still new to san francisco team (he just had one season under his belt at the time). others, they felt like they couldn't work on their crafts if they played in the games, especially if they need to try new tricks.

KUALA LUMPUR : Kejohanan Besbol Piala Presiden kali ke-4 peringkat kebangsaan bulan depan bakal menjadi medan pemilihan atlet untuk ke Sukan SEA Indonesia, November ini.
Presiden Persekutuan Besbol Malaysia (PBM), Datuk Noh Abdullah berkata melalui kejohanan ini seramai 40 atlet akan dipilih oleh ahli jawatankuasa pemilih dan senarai akhir anggota pasukan akan diketahui sebelum pertengahan Oktober.
Kejohanan Piala Presiden yang akan berlangsung di Padang Astaka Jalan Utara, Petaling Jaya dari 8 hingga 11 Sept ini bakal disertai 10 pasukan terdiri daripada kelab-kelab dan pasukan besbol dari institusi-institusi pengajian tinggi (IPT) seluruh negara.
" Setakat ini, tujuh dari 20 pasukan telah mengesahkan penyertaan mereka dan kebanyakan mereka sudah mula berlatih sejak Julai lepas, " katanya kepada Bernama.
Antara pasukan yang layak ke kejohanan itu ialah Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMap), Politeknik Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah (Polimas), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Persatuan Besbol Kuala Lumpur, Kelab Banturaz Rhinos dari Bandar Tun Razak, Kelab Besbol Patriots dan Kelab Cougars dari Keramat.

hampir tiap2 sabtu layan tgk baseball tempatan. since aku dok aichi prefecture , nagoya aku sokong ler CHUNICHI DRAGON. masa tu negro apa nama ntah woods kot..Iwata ke Ibata dengan inoue pun ada jugak..yang aku minat pitcher, YAMAMOTO..
