Brolly good to see you, Ma'am
When the Queen was caught in the rain outside St Paul’s Cathedral this week, she flourished a transparent umbrella with a deep red trim which matched her outfit. Coincidence? Hardly.
She has a delightful and little-known indulgence: she commissions see-through umbrellas — so the public can see her — that are colour-matched with her clothes.
Mind your red, Ma'am: At St Paul's this week |

PRETTY IN PINK: THE QUEEN'S COLOURFUL PAST

Purple reign: Royal Highness chooses mauve suit for official reopening of Kensington Palace following £12m renovation
The Queen today continued her run of bright and beautiful outfits as she chose a vibrant mauve suit for the official opening of Kensington Palace after an extensive renovation project.
She was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh for a tour of the palace buildings following a £12 million transformation which will be revealed to the public on March 26.
The royal couple looked at the new Victoria Revealed exhibition, where they watched footage of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations and viewed displays of outfits worn by the former monarch, including her wedding dress.
