IIFA showcased glitz and glamour of Bollywood Email this article

The Yorkshire IIFA awards night will remain as one of the best Bollywood award functions organized outside India. The elaborate set decoration, mega decibel music and presence of top names of the Indian film industry - Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, Aishwarya, Yash Chopra, Shilpa Shetty, Hrithik Roshan and Preity Zinta - has made the event a spectacle for the audience.
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's runaway blockbuster 'Rang De Basanti' pipped 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' won the Best Film award at the star-studded Idea IIFA Awards ceremony at Sheffield on Saturday night that showcased the extravaganza, glitz and glamour of the Indian film industry.
The performances of the night came from the 32-year-old Shilpa Shetty, who was cheered on by the people as she danced to the tunes of the hit songs 'Crazy Kiya Re...' and 'Main Sadke Jawan...'.
Akshay Kumar later brought the house down with his energetic performance to Punjabi numbers such as 'Rabba, rabba' and 'Aja mahi'. Amitabh and his son Abhishek also drew sustained applause as they danced to popular tunes.

Yash Raj Films (YRF), has entered into an agreement with The Walt Disney Studios, to exclusively create a series of original computer-animated feature films.
Commenting on the alliance, Yash Chopra, Chairman of YRF said, 'Yash Raj Films has been at the forefront in live action feature films for almost four decades. Together with my son Aditya Chopra, we have created our own space with the efforts of a wonderful team both creative and business and have had the opportunity of producing films that we belive in films that entertain a large population, as well as the Indian Diaspora.'
Dick Cook, Chairman of The Walt Disney Studios, said, 'We're thrilled and honoured to be working with Yash Chopra and Aditya Chopra and their talented team at YRF to create exceptional animated films in the Indian language that we culturally relevant for the avid movie going audiences in India and around the world.'

Fame Adlabs had organised a purple ribbon event where childrens from various NGO's get to meet their favourite stars and watch a movie with them. Sameera Reddy played games with childrens and gave away gifts to each of them.

Press Conference Of 'Rivaaz' Email this article

Filmmaker Ashok Nanda held a press conference of his second directorial venture 'Rivaaz' at the Raheja Classique Club. 'Rivaaz' is the first Indian film on prostitution as a family profession, which is rampant in some Indian villages. Deepti Naval, Meghna Naidu and Ritisha who form the female cast of the movie were present to interact with the media and pose for pictures. The film will be screened at the New York International Film Festival that begins on July 19. It has also been recommended for the Toronto International Film Festival.
