Nerlinger joins Bayern as Klinsmann's aide

FORMERRangers player Christian Nerlinger, 35, has been named as the new teammanager at Bayern Munich. Nerlinger was the No 1 candidate for newBayern head coach Jurgen Klinsmann. They played together back in themid-1990s when they won the Uefa Cup and Bundesliga for Munich.

                                                                                Nerlinger,who retired two years ago, said: "I wouldn't have taken a job with anyother club in the world at this stage of my life."

Schweinsteiger wants Premiership move

Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger admits he fancies a move to the Premiership.

Schweinsteiger is approaching the final year of his contract at Bundesliga champions Bayern, and although new boss Jurgen Klinsmann is keen to keep him in Bavaria, a move to the Premier League could be on the cards.

"I may stay with Bayern and the coach has promised to be supportive of whatever decision I make," Schweinsteger is quoted as saying in the Sunday Mail.

"England does have a good appeal as it is one of the world's best leagues.

"I've always wanted to play there and we'll see if it happens this year."
