Wonder Girls Going On A World Tour
Almosttwo years into their debut, Wonder Girls' popularity in Korea isincreasing day by day. Even though they might not be as popularoverseas, their name is quite familiar in several countries in Asia andthe United States. That is because some of their music video andperformance video clips have been released on YouTube and were watchedby many viewers around the world.
Now Wonder Girls is about totake their popularity to the next level in the overseas music market bygoing on a world tour. The group is scheduled to start their very firstworld tour in late February. On Feb 28, they will head to Bangkok,Thailand, then to Los Angeles on March 5, Orange County in Californiaon March 6, and New York on March 8.
Wonder Girls wereoriginally scheduled to open their first concert in Korea on Feb 14before starting their world tour. But the girls wanted to be fullyprepared for their first-ever concert in the motherland so the concerthas been pushed back to late March. After they finish their world tourand come back to Korea, they will hold a concert at the Olympic FencingStadium on March 28.
The girls do not have much experience inperforming outside of Korea, but they have previously performed withother JYP singers and musicians at "The JYP Tour" held in the UnitedStates last February. Back then, they were more of a guest than a mainperformer, so they did not have to perform for the entire show.
But this time, they will perform all alone so they are reportedly preparing a lot and putting great efforts into the show.
Althoughthe world tour venues were already fixed, there is a possibility thatthe tour will be expanded. Other countries such as Taiwan and China arerequesting concerts in their country as well, so it is still unknownwhere else the concert will be held. A Wonder Girls representative saidthey are still revising several concert requests so the girls may visitsome more countries.
Besides going on a world tour, there arerumors that Wonder Girls are expected to star in a drama that will beco-produced by Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon & Park Jin-young, thegirl's management company president. The drama is tentatively called"Dream High" but other details are unknown yet.

Thepopular 5-member group, the Wonder Girls, will be returning from the USas soon as the 11th in order to speed up preparations for the group'sfirst domestic concert.
According to a conversation with the WonderGirls' management company, JYPEntertainment, on the morning of the 9th,the Wonder Girls- who left for the US on January 31, will be arrivingback in Korea either in the afternoon of the 11th or on the morning ofthe 12th. It has been said that the Wonder Girls met with Park JinYoung, the head of JYPEntertainment, during their stay in America inorder to discuss general plans for activities in the US among otherthings. The Wonder Girls have plans for consecutive concert appearancesin Los Angeles on March 5, Orange County on March 6, and New York inMarch 8.
On this day, a representative for JYPEntertainmentsstated, "While staying in the US, the Wonder Girls discussed thetentative agenda of what will happen from now on. After returning toKorea on the 11th, at the earliest–they're going to do all they can toprepare for their domestic concert coming up at the end of March."
TheWonder Girls will hold concerts at the Pusan KBS Hall on March 21 andat Seoul Olympic Park’s Fencing Arena on March 28. This will be thefirst time the Wonder Girls are holding a solo-concert in the countrysince their early-2007 debut.
Meanwhile, the Wonder Girls haveplans to depart again after only a brief stay in the country followingtheir return due to their February 28 concert in Bangkok, Thailand.
