caya laaa novak....
dia punya groundstroke lebih flat drpd nadal.... forehand dia pun bag ...

mana ada federer menangis...ada masa nyer benda yg kita nk x menjadik gak...
n bak kata novak " federer x leh menang setiap masa, kdng-kala org lain juga harus menang.."
federer leh terima keadaan tu n tunggu US OPEN nie....

bab nadal lak...pada pendapat edna...dier ada permainan yg baik tp x ok pada serve...
sbb serve dier kureng...cam roddick lak serve dier power tp main x ok sgt...
bg edna pemain tennis tu kene ada kekuatan kedua-dua benda tu...
sbb federer ada kedua-dua kekuatan tu...n novak pon ada kekuatan kedua-dua benda tu masa lwn ari tu...
n tgk hasil nyer...
cuma novak yg punya rezeki menang tournament tu bkn federer....

Tennis: Top two seek to restore order in Cincinnati

CINCINNATI: After Novak Djokovic抯 stunning triumph at the Montreal Masters, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal will try to get their US Open preparations back on track in Cincinnati this week.

Djokovic posted victories over both of the top two players in the world within 24 hours in Montreal, denying Swiss World No 1 Federer a 50th career win with his triumph in Sunday抯 final.

Federer and Nadal will try to restore order at the Cincinnati Masters.

The event staged at a stadium amid a golf course within sight of a crowd-pulling amusement park may have all the ambience of a Middle American county fair, but the tennis remains serious business with just a fortnight remaining before the final grand slam of the year starts in New York.

In all-American style, main draw players are handed the keys to flash Mercedes cars to drive themselves the 10 kilometres between a motorway hotel and the isolated site.

Fender-benders are not unknown, but the top seed Federer and No 2 Nadal are planning to limit their clashes strictly to the court as they fine-tune for the US Open starting Aug 27.

The steamy heat of Cincinnati will make fitness an important element, with Federer saying in temperate Canada that he is ready for a week of three-set, three-hour matches if necessary.

The top eight seeds begin with byes, with Federer due to open in the second round against either Russian Dmitry Tursunov or a qualifier.

Defending champion Andy Roddick takes the third seeding, hoping to recover poise after losing to Djokovic in the Monteal quarters

tp..secara mathematically..federer bleh hilang no.1 tuh sekiranye

1. xdpt nak defend point2 from US Open.- provided kalah awal and Nadal plak akan menang US Open
2. x dpt nak defend point2 selepas US Open sampai la Masters Cup..and Nadal akan dpt gain bnyk point kalo perform sinced last yr Nadal mmg off time ni...

tp ape2 wait n see je..

Federer in no hurry to hire new coach

CINCINNATI: World number one Roger Federer said on Tuesday that he was in no hurry to get a new coach, three months after he stopped working with Tony Roche.

Australian Roche helped Federer to win six of his 11 Grand Slam titles, but the Swiss decided to go it alone two weeks before the French Open.

Since then, he has been doing things his own way and said he had not decided what to do next, adding he was not even sure he wanted a new coach.

揟hat's what I'm asking myself at the moment

Tennis: Federer survives scare, defending champion Andy Roddick ousted at Ohio tournament

MASON, Ohio (AP) - Roger Federer survived a scare from Marcos Baghdatis on Thursday to move into the quarterfinals of the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters, which has been brutal to seeded players this week.

Federer beat Baghdatis 7-6 (5), 7-5, shortly after David Ferrer ousted defending champion Andy Roddick 7-6 (4), 6-4. Only four seeds remained, including James Blake, who had an evening match.

"It was a struggle out there for both of us,'' Federer said. "It was tough to keep the ball in play, you know, it was really quick.''

Baghdatis has never beaten Federer in five matches, but pushed the No. 1 player on tour as he did a year ago in the Australian Open, when Federer won in four sets.

"Basically, I gave the first set away,'' said Baghdatis, who helped Federer fight off two set points with a double-fault. Federer then won the tiebreaker, winning the first and last points with aces.

"I couldn't imagine losing the first set, but I did,'' Baghdatis said. "Basically, he won the first set because of his name _ Federer. I can say that because I choked.''

Third-seeded Roddick was the 11th seed to fall. No. 2 Rafael Nadal had retired on Wednesday with cramps in his wrist and arm, and No. 4 Novak Djokovic lost to Carlos Moya, who stayed alive Thursday by beating Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 in a match in 110-degree heat on center court.

Only four seeds remained when No. 5 Nikolay Davydenko beat No. 10 Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-2. Earlier, Lleyton Hewitt topped Jurgen Melzer 6-3, 6-3; Nicolas Almagro defeated Jarkko Nieminen 6-2, 6-2; and Sam Querry downed Juan Monaco 6-3, 7-5.

Federer, who is seeking his 50th ATP title, said despite his erratic performance Thursday he felt he was in the flow of the tournament. He will face Almagro in Friday's quarterfinals.

"I have to stay aggressive and probably have to play a bit better than I did today,'' Federer said. "Hope I can concentrate on my serve and hold on to that and create chances.''

Hewitt said fighting the heat was a physical and mental challenge.

"It makes you go for wrong shot selections more times, I think, because you're trying to finish the point off, you know, because it's so hard to keep playing long rallies in these kind of situations,'' he said. "You really have to pick and choose the right ones to go for then.'' Roddick won the event in 2003 and 2006. He reached the quarterfinals in 2002, semifinals in 2004 and finals in 2005, when he lost to Federer.

After both players held serve en route to a tiebreaker, Roddick lost the first three points, starting with a double-fault. He finally won two points when Ferrer couldn't handle serves of 227 and 228 kph (141 and 142 mph), Roddick's best of the set, and won another point with a 225 kph (140 mph) ace.

Ferrer closed out the tiebreaker with solid ground strokes, and Roddick threw his racket in disgust when his return on set point went wide.

Both players held throughout the second set until Ferrer broke Roddick in the 10th game.

"I just didn't do anything that I've been working on,'' Roddick said. "I was standing too far back. I wasn't imposing myself, and I was giving away free points. All the way around, it was a pretty ordinary performance.''

But Roddick said there is plenty of time to get himself righted before the U.S. Open. "I'm not going into panic mode,'' he said. "I know what I did wrong today.'' - AP

Gritty Henin battles past Peng Shuai

TORONTO: Justine Henin may have lost some fitness during a month's layoff but none of her trademark tenacity as she battled into the quarter-finals of the Toronto Cup with a 7-5, 6-2 win over China's Peng Shuai on Thursday.

Joining the world number one in the final eight at the US$1.3mil tournament are second seeded Serb Jelena Jankovic, a four-time winner this season, and Russian third seed Svetlana Kuznetsova, a four-time runner-up.

Playing her first event since a semi-final loss at Wimbledon, Henin lacked her usual precision but there was no shortage of determination as the feisty Belgian needed nearly two hours in difficult blustery conditions to tame her 58th-ranked opponent.

揑t was tough I can tell you,

Tennis: Federer braces for a hard time

CINCINNATI: Roger Federer won抰 be over-confident when he faces Lleyton Hewitt in a showcase semi-final at the Cincinnati Masters, even though he has won his last 10 encounters with the Australian.

"I may have won them, but until last week (Montreal Masters quarter-finals) we hadn抰 played for two years," said the world number one after overcoming Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 on Friday.

"There are plenty of guys who can make it hard for me to win here 梐nd they start with Hewitt."

The unseeded Hewitt defeated Carlos Moya 6-4, 6-2 on Friday to earn revenge for a loss in the final five years ago at this Midwest event.

The 26-year-old Australian holds the Las Vegas title from early March and also reached the semi-finals in Hamburg and Austria.

James Blake will contest the second semi-final after defeating Sam Querrey 5-7, 6-4, 6-4. The ninth seed will take on Russian number five Nikolay Davydenko, who beat Spain抯 David Ferrer 6-2, 6-4.

Federer, winner of this title in 2005, said he was happy with his game with little more than a week to go before the start of his US Open defence, despite dropping the second set against 32nd-ranked Almagro.

Federer beat Hewitt a week ago in the Montreal quarters on the way into a final which he lost to Serb Novak Djokovic.

While Federer leads Hewitt 12-7 in their career head-to-head, with Hewitt last tasting success in Melbourne Davis Cup play nearly four years ago, the Swiss powerhouse said only their most recent encounter was any gauge.

"For me, it抯 1-0, since we hadn抰 played since 2005.

"It was good to win last week and get an idea of how he plays."

Federer was steady on Friday, breaking four times and firing nine aces in the win over Almagro. He produced 23 winners on the way to victory.

Hewitt knows he抯 in for a struggle.

"No one has really been able to figure him out so far, he抯 pretty good. He抯 obviously a great all-court player," said Hewitt.

"He抯 got all the shots, and he抯 got a great head on his shoulders as well. He抯 one of the best players we抳e seen in the modern era."

Hewitt, renewing his game under the guidance of Federer抯 former coach Tony Roche, advanced into his fourth semi-final of the season and also hammered home his potential as a contender at the US Open.

The 2001 winner at Flushing Meadows, who lifted the Wimbledon title the next year, did not play the New York Grand Slam last year due to injury
