apa beza CV,Cover letter n resume..
as far as I know CV and resume are the same thing. Cover letter is the letter that accompanies your resume. |

regarding keeping your resume to one page, don't be too strict about it if you're using it in Malaysia. It seems to me that it's common for a resume for fresh grads in Malaysia to be longer than a page. So I guess it's not necessarily wrong. But I'd still personally advise against making your resume unnecessarily longer than it should. Leave the elaboration for the interviews. |

for fresh grads in malaysia - you can make it 2 pages - standard
one page is too strict and too narrow information --
make it 2 pages should u just graduated without any working experience - |

well, since in Malaysia they pretty much have to put a picture and personal data, one page can't be enough. |

picture in resume is only an option -
some employers rather have the passport size photograph -
anyway - to be honest - i dun like all those personal data stuff
some are really unnecessary
especially if you hafa fill in the application form
(stuff already written in your resume)
and u MUST PUT..
all your siblings name
their occupation
and then some...
what in the blaze for??
as if - those can determine you are a great
candidate for the job and you can do your
job well - |

I know. Actually last year when I filled in the application for UPM scholarship, my friends and I was quite shocked that we even had to declare things like religious belief, what our siblings do and stuff because it's been a long time since we had to do it here in the States.
About those data on resume, I think it is illegal here for employers to even expect that or ask in an interview. |

actually it would be against the law in canada
even to state in the requirement the gender
that your prefer let alone religious belief
and races --
and i think that's what it should be -
i wonder sometimes -- when people saying
ahhh people in the western are too racist
and yet....just look at the job requirement
in our country -
when i applied a job in canada -
my resume was quite brief just to the point
and no need all those religion races status and
whatnot --
just address contact number
and qualification and working experience
plus interest and skills -
much easier to write and simpler |

ni based on pengalaman aku la...
resume aku buat 2 pages aje
aku letak gambo hujung sblh kanan
pastu nama, alamat, no tepon emel...
bawahnye aku letak tarikh lahir, tmpt lahir, no ic and warganegara..
bawahnye kelulusan tertinggi smpila pmr..
pastu pengalaman kerja, dr bila smpi bila n gaji serta job desc.
pastu kelebihan guna komputer..
pastu rujukan aku just letak upon request
itu jek...
cover letter plak cuma 1 page je...dorang xsuka baca yg meleret2 smpi 2-3 muka ni...just buat sesimple yg boleh... |

MOST of the CVs (r閟um閟) that I read don抰 catch my attention. This is often because the writer has made one or more key mistakes in their use or presentation of language.
These key mistakes are:

satu lagi aku nak pesan la, jangan cuba gelembong lebih masa buat resume. ada satu kali masa interbiu aku tengok ada candidate kata amat baik dalam penggunaan MS office, so aku bagi dia notebook suruh buat garisan menegak pakai word pah tu akhir sekali ngaku tak pandai guna. apa lagi kena wachaa la mamat tu. pelajaran moralnya : berlaku jujur masa buat self marketing. |

Dulu ada orang penah cakap kat saya kalo nak outstandingkan resume kita jgn guna keras putih a4, tapi guna kaler yg lain.
tapi samada resume kita dia amibik dulu atau dia rejek dulu, mmg risky habis la.
tgk company gak la ada yg suka ada yang tak suka. |

Nak tanya, kalau kita dh kerje sendiri dengan syarikat lain as part timer tp apply utk permanent job dgn syarikat lain. Wajib tak letak keje part time kita kt dalam resume di bahagian extra activities?? Kalau tak letak, later on syarikat yg kita keje discover kita nyer other activities...salah x?? pening memikirkan.... |

eh ye ke wymer..? - tak tau lak macam tu..
saya rasa better kertas putih sebab clearer.. - easier to read
better type out UNLESS kat advertisement specifically requested hand written -
memang ada company yang minta handwritten resumes - not many but there's
few cases -
my advise - go to the place yourself - hand in your resume to the HR Dept -
avoid mail the resume unless you live too far away from the office and will
move there once you get the job -

salam firdaus...
kalau firdaus nak apply permanent job and now working part-time, please write down as working
experience latest - and ROL (reason of leaving) - part time cuz that's already a good reason
why you wanna leave that part time job...
however,
it is also not an offense to work part time while you are working permanent job -
in fact - your experience in that part time work can be an extra bonus for ya -
please reply if you have further question, eh -

i tgh pening kepala at the moment. nak apply kerja tp masih kekok nak menulis my resume..
and I ni active in NGOs kat sini n terlibat as cam fund raising, conference, etc etc ( mostly peringkat negeri kat sini ) camana I nak bubuh benda tu dlm i punya resume? I takut nanti i bubuh dlm resume tp org ingat too good to be true pulak maklumlah... tau2 je la i stay kat sini tp karang org ingat i main2.
Most of the time i jd committee, dorang sini bukan bagi cert pon mcm kita kat Malaysia. sempoi abis.
your involvement with NGO will do good for your resume no doubt -
you kena buat under - work experience - VOLUNTEER - and if can substantiate with certs
would be an added advantage -
i am sure your resume would be excellent -
