But there is one device that combines a pretty similar set of features, yet comes a tad cheaper than the GALAXY S II. We are talking, of course, about the Samsung Galaxy R, which we have in our hands today.
The Samsung Galaxy R is more or less a downgraded version of the company's finest smartphone. It passes on the 1.2 GHz Exynos SoC in favor of NVIDIA's Tegra 2 chip, the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display has been replaced with a marginally smaller 4.2-inch Super Clear LCD screen, and the camera on its back has been taken from 8 down to 5 megapixels. Besides, the otherwise plastic back of the Galaxy R has been treated to a nice metallic finish, which we actually find to be an improvement over the plastic feel of the GALAXY S II.
So, without any further ado, let us now take the second best player in team Samsung for a spin and see what goodies it has to offer. |

Samsung has just informed us that the Galaxy Nexus will be made available for most to Southeast Asia and that the smartphone will be coming in much sooner than expected.
Samsung's statement
"All markets in Southeast Asia--Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Philippines--are expected to launch the Galaxy Nexus in Q4 2011."
We've already had word from a Samsung spokesperson during an event in Jakarta that Samsung is trying for a release before Christmas in Singapore, which the statement does verify. It however contradicts an earlier press release which stated that the Galaxy Nexus will only be available in Q1 2012 for Singapore.
The Galaxy Nexus will be running Google's latest Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, and the release of the handset will mean that the Android OS will slowly make its way to other handsets.
Samsung has already announced that both the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S II will be getting the update, but has been strangely silent on whether the Galaxy S will be receiving it as well. The smartphone features similar hardware to the Nexus S (which will be getting ICS).
Luke Lee, senior mobile manager for Samsung, told us that "with the Galaxy S, it's something that we [Samsung] could still be considering."
This does not rule out the chance that Galaxy S owners will be getting the update, but with Samsung already providing two updates for the handset (Froyo and Gingerbread), it might be unlikely for Samsung to continue pouring in resources to support this one and a half year-old model.
However, with Apple still supporting its almost two and a half year-old iPhone 3GS with the iOS 5 update, Samsung could probably learn a thing or two from the Cupertino-based company on providing an upgrade for the smartphone that helped propel the company into its position as a major Android player

salam..saya nak tanya, saya baru beli samsung galaxy w, first day pakai ok, second day dah blank satu hari, esok tu pulak, auto on off, saya dah hantar kedai, still sama lagi, ape masalah phone ni.. rasa menyesal spend over seribu for nothing.. |

soklan teman: kenapa bila anto sms takleh pjg2?maksudnye kalo dh taip ke page 2 bila nak send dia akan bitau message not sent. failed. bila teman padam dan cukup2kan page 1 je pastu anto br ok..
teman dh setkan character limit ke 600 tp masih masalah yg sama.
