Brown snubs United contract 
Wes Brown could be on his way out of Manchester United after rejecting the club's latest contract offer.
The England international was expected to sign a new and improved four-year deal at Old Trafford, but his advisors have now informed the club that they are not happy with the offer.
Manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists that The Red Devils will not be improving their existing offer, meaning Brown could be on his way when his present deal expires in the summer.
Rejected
"We have had several meetings with Wes' agent but they have rejected our last offer," said Ferguson.
"It is a good offer but it is our final one. That is the end of it now and we won't be going back."
Brown would be free to talk to other interested clubs in January and even sign pre-contract terms with teams outside the Premier League.
It is rare for United to find themselves in this position, especially with one of their home-grown players.
And with Gary Neville suffering yet another setback on his long-awaited return from injury, he seems destined to spend much of the campaign at right-back.
Ferguson added: "There is a possibility Wes could leave, which would be very disappointing." |

Ronaldo missed Man Utd training
Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo missed training this week after being left stranded in Portugal. The United winger returned home on Tuesday for a private function after scoring twice in Monday's 2-0 win over Fulham. But he failed to show for training on Wednesday after fog forced his flight to be cancelled. |
