Two big games in the space of just 3 days!

Sorry for my slowness but i have only just realised that after the international break United have to play Aston Villa on Sunday and then Porto just two days later on Tuesday. I find this absolutely ridiculous considering that both of these games are extremely important to us and if we get a bad result in any one of them then it could seriously hamper our chance to win those two trophies.

Yes i know that both games are at home and that alot of you don't consider Porto to be of any threat to us, but nether the less these two fixtures gives us only one day in between for rest meaning that any knocks or slight niggles players pick up could rule them out of the Champions league fixture, also very little time to properly prepare for the champions league fixture. This all means that Fergie might have to pick two different teams (perhaps even weakened teams) especially considering player suspensions in the Premier league.

Now for obvious reasons none of these fixtures can be changed, but in case you were wondering; both Chelsea and Liverpool play their two games in the space of 5 days

aku dah agak mesti akan naik kes rooney nie nnt...

tp mmg x patut pon ref tu send off rooney sbb pd aku die dah tau peel rooney camtu so patut bg amaran jer..

Riled by the radio

MUTV commentator Stewart Gardner is less than impressed by media coverage of the Reds' grim weekend...

Certain sections of the media appear to be relishing United's woes at the moment.

Wayne Rooney was heavily criticised by the former Liverpool defenders who serve as pundits on Match of the Day, for example, and he's still being given a hard time in the newspapers today.

Personally, I thought Wayne's red card was very harsh. Hugely frustrated that United couldn't take a quick free kick, he launched the ball back in the direction where the kick should have been taken from. The referee Phil Dowd saw this as dissent and couldn抰 get the second yellow card out quickly enough.

It's such a shame that Wayne's sending off has overshadowed his efforts to inspire the Reds' massive improvement. I thought he was fantastic on Saturday. He single-handedly grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck when he came on at the start of the second half and very nearly led United to an equaliser that would have completely changed the game. He showed the energy, drive and passion that was strangely absent in the first half.

Speaking of passion, did you hear Alan Green's commentary on the Scousers' win against Aston Villa on 5 Live (BBC Radio)?

When Gerrard scored from the penalty spot to make it 5-0, Green shouted, 揕iverpool 5 Villa 0 - are you watching Manchester?

Riera: United are showing signs of title pressureBy Soccernet staff

March 23, 2009

Liverpool winger Albert Riera reckons it is Manchester United and not Rafa Benitez who are "cracking up" as the title-race hots up.

Rafa Benitez: Praised winger who grabbed a fine goal against Aston Villa on Sunday.

Riera scored his fifth goal of the season in the 5-0 rout of AstonVilla on Sunday, with boss Rafael Benitez singling him out for specialpraise."After the game against United last week when we won at Old Trafford, we showedthem that we are still fighting and that we will be until the very end.
"Now after winning against Villa and with United losing (at Fulham) I thinkthat they can feel us near to them.
"There are a lot of matches to be played in the Premier League and theChampions League and there will be a lot of pressure and I believe that they canfeel this."
Riera believes Liverpool are showing that they can handle the pressure better. He said: "It was a great performance from everybody in the team and the mostimportant thing is that we had to win, and we did."
Benitez was fulsome in his praise for the compatriot he signed lastsummer: "Riera has had his up-and-down moments since joining the club, but his form has improved.
"He is now showing the consistency you need to perform in the PremierLeague."
Riera has also started to convince the Anfield crowd, who only remembered himfor an unimpressive spell on loan at Manchester City.
Benitez said: "He is starting to show the form I knew he had when we boughthim to the club."

Riera has won a lot...tu sebab dia buleh buat statement macam neh. Berpengalaman laa katakan...
