hmmm satu lg kisah crime buster.... w/pun baca review rasa cam lebih kurang jer dgn karya Patricia Cornwell, Tami Hoag,
tp lainnya ni lebih kpd kisah polis...klu nak banding dgn tv series rasa cam tengok siri HUNTER thn 80 an dulu...
tak de sntifik terms...

tp yg best nya.... implicitly...kisah ni selitkan isu "the only child"
- the only child from a father's point of view ( how the main chrcter - Harry Bosch loves his only daughter who is taken
away by his ex-wife)
- the only child - the victim... the effect for the parents....
how the mother copes (frozen in time)
why is it diffrent from the father (drunk n resurface as diffrent man)

- the only child - the judge's only daughter (minor part)

a mixed race teenager who had been killed some 17 years previously.
Originally the police had thought that this was a probable suicide.
The rise of new police techniques allows DNA and ballistics evidence, which had been available,
but not understood at the time to be linked to a potential suspect.
The background to the case is shown partly through the murder book.
This includes a copy of the autopsy report, which enables Connelly to portray events as they would have happened,
and not faded through time.

sudah habis membaca buku ke-2 tetralogi laskar pelangi yg bertajuk sang pemimpi

my review:
kesinambungan kisah ikal dari sekolah muhammadiyah
dan kita diperkenalkan dengan arai, sepupu ikal yang sangat-sangat bersemangat walaupun sebatang kara

buku ni banyak mengisahkan mereka belajar di sek men atas.. dan bekerja sambilan, seperti mengangkat tangkapan ikan untuk mengutip duit bagi merealisasikan hasrat untuk belajar

benar-benar novel ini membangkitkan semangat, dan mereka berdua memenangi biasiswa masters ke paris. sesuatu yang tidak diduga bagi anak melayu pedalaman yang hanya menjejak jakarta selepas habis sekolah. sambung bekerja di bonor, dan dgn duit itu, mereka melanjutkan pelajarn di peringkat sarjana muda, tanpa meminta wang langsung dari keluarga

finished reading edensor - the 3rd book in tetralogi laskar pelangi

my comment:
agak santai berbanding first book & second book
of course, it was nice to see arai & ikal menggapai mimpi..
where they went to france after they won EU scholarship in indonesia

of course this book is more about keeping your dreams alive

i am inspired by arai & ikal

3rd Degree by James Patterson

my comment:
not really that shocking..
but very personal, since one of the women's murder club members died

of course, i have to read till the end, to know the connection of the high profiled murders inside the book
and the mastermind behind all of it (my guess is right!)

my favourite in this series is still the first book: 1st to Die

saya jarang baca non-fiction, tapi tertarik dgn buku ni partly because i used to study economics, & some of the intriguing questions on the book cover
- why did kamikaze pilots wear helmets?
- why is there a light in your fridge but not in your freezer?

author ni pensyarah ekonomi di Cornell dan beberapa soalan dalam buku ni adalah dari students dia (he asked his students to pose and answer questions as a way of learning economic principles operate in the real world). tapi saya rasa soalan-soalan dalam buku tu banyak yg common-sense questions, boleh relate to

but bear in mind: jawapan dalam buku ni lebih kepada economic reasoning... mungkin engineering or science scholars/students tak berapa setuju
dan ada juga jawapan dalam buku ni yang kadang-kadang ermmm tak dilihat dr sudut yg lebih luas. dan saya rasa ada juga jawapan dia yang tak ada kena mengena dengan economics

overall, saya rasa buku ni fun & fascinating. a delightful way to learn economics. & ekonomi tak semestinya berkenaan rajah dan equations

I've just finished reading Sheila O'Flanagan-Bad Behavior...

Overall, it's quite OK although sye amik mase yang lame nak habiskan buku nie sbb tak de mase nak belek...hehe...

this book is about Darcy who received a wedding invitation from her ex-bestfriend, Nieve, who is marrying Darcy's first love Aidan...although 10 years have passed by, Darcy still ade rase dendam skit dkat this couple...yer la kan..best friend sendiri curik boyfriend dier pastu invite her to the wedding...Nieve yang mase tu keje kat States try nak buat extravagant wedding kat a castle..just to prove to all yang dier mampu+kaya n most importantly nak tunjuk kat Darcy yang dier still ngn Aidan lepas 10 tahun diorang couple...kire bukan cinta main2 la...then, the day before the wedding something happen n the wedding was off...

nak tahu in detail, kene bace la...sye tak pandai sgt nak tulis review...

Juz finished reading Gifted by Nikita Lalwani..

Set in the 1980s, Rumika Vasi (or Rumi for short) a maths-genius 15 year old prodigy struggles to fullfill the demands of her gift and at the same time the strict regiment of her parents.

Overall, buku ni memang best, kesian aku kat budak Rumi nih, pressure tul kalo dah genius, epecially kalo parents lak yg push suh belajar hari2.
